Task Details:

"Ugh, this island is so boring. Why did they assign me here," Axel wondered as he sat on top of a small shop building, overlooking the rest of the small town. This shop building was right next to the entrance to the port town of Maximus Island. The town looked very bland, with almost every building being a square with blue pain on the inside, made of bricks. The only difference were the signs hung up on the top, fro shop names to house numbers. Everything was stretched out to, so no one really had any neighbors, as they had to walk several feet before they were on someone else's lawn. The field was pretty much a grassfield with a rocky road that was unsafe to travel on if you were riding horse carriages. The worse part in Axel's opinion was that there was barely any crime around the place. For the three days he was stationed in the small marine base located o the island, he hasn't gotten a single radio call about any disturbances. Unless every criminal was a stealthy thief or assassin, this place was as friendly as it got, or everyone just hated each other so much that they didn't bother to mess with anyone. Axel was beginning to believe the latter since there wasn't even a bar in the town he was staying in, or in any of the other two small towns on Maximus

Finally, Axel heard something from his walkie-talkie. The sun was setting, so he was about to head back to the base that was only a few meters from the shop he was sitting on. A marine announced that he spotted some criminal activity on the southern end of town, and went to go check it out, but Axel could hear a blunt object seemingly hit the marine, and he went silent. As fast as he could, the marksman jumped off of the building and zipped towards the southern end of the town.

Alissandra sighed to herself as she lounged in the shade of a rather tall tree. It wasnt the tallest tree by any means, but it was a tree that was tall enough to provide a modest degree of shade. More than enough to keep the bombshell blonde cool and comfortable on this lazy afternoon in this very lazy town. Being stationed here was a double edged sword, both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, with a powerful absence of crime there was almost no easier place to be. Occasionally a couple people might get in an argument, one might pull a weapon but it was all resolved shortly, people lived too far away from each other to really face problems that'd arise from congested living spaces. No bars meant no drunks, which meant a lot less chaos, which was good for the lazy citizens of this lazy town.

That said, it also made this station incredibly boring. There was virtually nothing to do. Alice had exhausted her imagination trying to find ways to kill time and today she decided to take a break, sit under a not-too-tall tall tree and bask in its shade. Before she knew it, shed fallen asleep.

Alice would awake to the sound of a Marine shouting something about "criminal activity". Alice of course didn't believe him and went about rubbing the sleep from her eyes. When his calls were suddenly silenced however, Alice took that as a pressing sign to get a move on, and broke into a jog in the direction his voice had been coming from. It was a small town, she'd find him eventually.

"Why! They didn't do anything to you pieces of shit!" screamed a middle-aged woman as she stood on her knees, looking up at the six men with extreme anger on her face. All they did was give their villainous smile and stare down at her, wondering what to do next. on the floor next to  the woman were two bodies. One was a middle-aged man, and the other was a young boy.

"To be honest, we were bored of this town. If we are traveling the seas, the least an island could do was have a tavern, but this shitty place has none of that, so basically you guys force us to have some 'fun,' heh," one of the men replied back, who seemingly acted as the leader since the others kept feeding him suggestions. This all went down right in the front of the woman's house. Her, her husband and her son were going to go to the local deli to buy some meat when they were attacked by these men passing by.

"Hey, you guys must be pirates right? So sad that you couldn't use your strength for the greater good and join the marines, but people like what they like I suppose," Axel commented as he walked towards the house, not afraid to waltz right into the situation. He had a serious expression on his face since he saw the bodies of the two victims. "Go into the house lady. It is gonna get dangerous," he instructed, and with that she shook her head in compliance. Some of the tears running down her face were shaken off as she did so. As she tried to run into her house however, one of them men grabbed at the bottom of her dress. Axel responded to this by pulling out the revolver attached to the right side of his belt, aimed the gun at the man's back and pulled the trigger. A bullet flew passed the other 5 men who were spread out and went right into the spine of the man holding onto the woman. He fell over while screaming in pain.

"Hey, you think you are a tough guy with your guns, yea? Then let's throw down!" shouted one of the men as they were angry due to the downfall of his friend. The men took out knives, ready to cut a calm and collected Axel down.

Thankfully Alice was fairly close by to the site of the ruckus, not too far from the local butcher's shop scene was like something she'd seen many many times growing up. A group of men, most of them armed, surrounding a defenseless woman with the most carnal of looks in their eyes. What were they planning to do? Anything? Everything? The sky was the limit really, assuming they had any. She was dressed in a pretty, but plain green dress, rather long for Alice's taste but she liked the color. By her were two people, unconscious supposedly her husband by the look of the older male and her child by the size of the younger body by the ground.

It wasnt enough to get Alice in a funk though. The woman seemed to be in one piece, her dress wasn't torn and there honestly wasn't enough blood on the grass to imply either of those bodies had been mortally wounded. Alice had definitely seen worse, she was more than ready to step in, however there was another figure on the scene. A male, clad in a red jacket with silverish, whitish, grayish sort of spiky hair. He was definitely not a bystander. Too well armed, too well dressed to come from this backwater hole in the wall, so he was either with these pirates, would could probably prove to be an issue, or he wasn't... Which made it whatever. There was some shouting going on but Alice gad learned to tune that kind of crap out, plus she was still a little drowsy from her nap.

The blonde took a few steps forward toward the pirate's, her hands up in a commonly recognized gesture of surrender. "Now now boys, I don't know what happened here but uhh, clearly yall fucked up. If you put those toys down and come with me... Or uhh, us... We'll take you in and see about avoiding any scary death penalties, yeah? How's that sound? Peachy? I think it sounds peachy.", the blonde would offer with a yawn, finally getting the last of the sleep from her eyes. She hadn't noticed the third body on the ground, or the hostile nature of the brigands. Had one of them been shot?! Seriously?!  How did she miss that?!

She had no time to think about that though. Three thugs quickly charged her, two wielding what looked like rather cheap knives. They'd prove ineffective as Alice grabbed one by his outstretched arm and hurled him over her shoulder into his two friends. She delivered a quick stomp to the three men's threats and ran her fingers through her luxurious blonde hair as she watched two goons rush the red robed stranger. If he was any good he could take 'em no problem, so decided to check on the two injured innocents, confirming her suspicions. The husband had some head trauma, Alice wasn't a doctor but she'd seen enough blows to the head to only he'd make it. The kid however was just shaking violently underneath his old man.

Alice gently reached out to the kid and pet his arm soothingly trying to hush him, calm him down. "Hey hey, shh shh. It's ok little man, come on, the good guys are here now..." she'd coo carefully at him, while pulling out her walkie talkie. "Yo, base? Yeeeeah this is Alice, we got trouble down by the butcher's? Like... Maybe a click away from it? Got a injured man and a few dead or dying pirates... Mayhaps we get a medic or two down here to look at them? Thanksies ~", she'd finish as she blew a cheeky kiss into the thing.

Axel thought he would have to handle the remaining thugs on his own, which wasn't much of a challenge since the knife wielders weren't even holding them like a person would hold combat knives. They were the cheap ones that weren't that sharp either. A beautiful blonde woman came running from the left, stopping at the scene to deal with the goons as well. She wore blue jeans as well as a red shirt that went from her neck to just below her breasts. The name of such a garment slipped from Axel's tongue, but the only thing he needed to know was that she was good looking to be honest. Trying not to stare too much, the marksman turned his attention back to the criminals. Three of them dashed towards the woman who quickly dealt with them, while the remaining two went after Axel. They hoped he would stay distracted since he had guns in his hand and they had no weapons on them, but that wasn't the case. He aimed at the one on the right and shot at his chest, then did the same to the man on his left who was now attempting to run, and shot his chest before he fully turned around. Axel put his revolver back in his holster and saw the girl take out a walkie talkie and report to the marine base about the man and boy on the ground. Axel pulled his out and looked at her with a smile.

"It is good to see that another marine got here on time. I will run around the town to see if there are anymore of these guys running around, since there is always the chance of a small gang trying to run operation on this small place. You can clean up here. Cya back at the base I guess," Axel said as he turned around and started his investigation. He hoped to see that marine again soon.

The boy's shivering seemed to be slowing up, then two thunder cracks broke out, sending the boy back to his cowering. Kid definitely didn't deserve to experience this but it wasn't so bad. Heroes arrived just in time to stop the really scary stuff from happening. Thank god for that one Marine, the one that uhhh... Took one for the team and got clocked by this chicken feed.

The woman hadn't quite made it into her home yet and she worried lyrics crawled over to her husband, who's eyes were fluttering open as she arrived by his side and with some help the two were able to lay him on his back. Alice was no medic so she couldn't exactly say if he'd be 100%, but nothing looked too bad. He was bleeding from his head, but there wasn't too much blood there. His wife took his hand and cried into his chest and he just kinda looked hazy. Alice moved out of the way do the kid could take his old man's other hand. She stood up and dusted herself off with a satisfied grin. Yeah it wasn't much, and they coulda maybe done better, but all things considered this was definitely a win in her book. B+.

The guy in the coat was eyeing a walkie-talkie of his own and if that wasn't proof enough he went on to express his happiness at the circumstances. So he was definitely, probably a Marine. Good shit. Alice gave the guy an off hand lazy sort of salute sharing in his grin.

"Rodgers dodger. I'll uhhh... Get them in a nice pile? Alphabetize them? Whatever dude, been real. Keep your eyes open and all that. Catch ya later." The blonde would say before moving to gather up the pirates. Three were shot, and the others were choking...

That was a good enough sorting criteria for Alice and she moved them into groups of three, sorted by wounds. The medics soon arrived and Alice hung around, just make sure it sell went smoothly for the rest of the night. Chances were she could catch up with ol' red later.
