A strong gust of wind blew across the empty streets, blowing dust and refuse off of the bridge. This part of the bridge was completed hundreds of years ago, leaving it void of all life. The fact that it was somewhere near the middle of the bridge made it a choice area for wrong-doing. Lucas shifted onto his back foot, easing away from the rolling fog that had enveloped the area. He wasn’t supposed to be here.
This mission was meant for one of his superiors to complete, he was just supposed to tag along and help where he could. Sadly, for him at least, his superior had been called back for what was presumably a more urgent mission. It was about mid-day when the pirates left to make what appeared to be an urgent delivery. Lucas moved around the bridge to confirm their numbers. It didn’t take him long to notice that this was quite the large shipment. He caught his first glimpse of Brent Jones later that day.

The man appeared to be a walking, talking mass of muscle. It took 3 of his subordinates to carry a single crate and yet Brent easily took 2 crates on his own each trip. After making 4 trips in the time that it took the other pirates to make one, the Captain began to visible anger. "Go back on your patrols if you're going to take half the damn day to make a trip!" Brent bellowed, annoyed at the two who were supposed to be aiding him. The grunts headed off into the fog, following their patrol routes and grumbling under the breath all the way. Luckily for the young marine Brent was pre-occupied with the loading process, as he now was performing it alone. He'll be busy for a while, I should try to find Oscar and take him out! With a rough idea of his next objective, Lucas set his eyes to the sky. From what he knew of his intended adversary, he would be scouting from a vantage point.

He'd been briefed on Oscar's strengths and general personality. It made sense for a marksman of his skill to isolate himself in a place where he could see a threat coming from a long way out. Looking around the surrounding area revealed that the only building not demolished for its materials was the former Guard Tower. Although Lucas could not see accurately through the fog, he didn't need to. Upon reaching the perimeter of the guard post Lucas heard what he thought to be a conversation. Taking note of the pillar of smoke coming from the chimney, the young marine slowly made his way towards the sounds.

"Boss'll be angry if he finds out we're not patrollin' like we're 'posed to." What was meant to be a whisper was instead loud and squeaky, as if its owner was still going through puberty. The man it came out of was quite the opposite of a teenager.

"Quiet, George! A man needs to relax every once in a while. 'sides Oscar took care of that marine ages ago, not like he had a chance to give our location up."

The conversation continued on as the two men shared a pipe and what was most likely a flask of alcohol. Even though Lucas had not moved and their volume had stayed at the same level, he was unable to hear them very well. Upon learning the fate of his fellow marine, he'd already made up his mind. No matter the cost he would make them pay for their misdeeds. After what seemed like ages he managed to reign in his anger and formulate a plan.

Hundreds of years ago, when this area of Tequila Wolf had been abandoned, the buildings and structures that were used as housing had been tore down. This was mainly done to reclaim the materials used in their construction, so that it could be used to expand the bridge. It was due to their haste in moving forward that Lucas was able to find a sturdy chunk of rusty metal.

With one good throw the plan was set into motion. The brown lump of metal soared through the air and landed deep in the fog across from his position. The sudden sound put the pirates on alert, diverting their attention. Lucas began to sprint in unison with the sound of metal on metal, rushing towards the two. His approach wasn't noticed until he'd gotten much closer and by that time his momentum was too great. He used his speed to toss one hell of a right hook, smashing his fist square into the larger pirate's head. As he made contact Lucas could see the man's eyes rolling back into his head. His surprise attack had succeeded. But the battle was far from won, he still had one very alert opponent to deal with.

Recovering from that attack left him wide open, which allowed the pirate a few potshots before Lucas was able to properly defend himself. He swept low quickly attempting to catch his foe off-guard. His kick connected causing the pirate to lose his balance entirely. Lucas used the momentum of his kick to enter a familiar stance. The fingers on his right hand separated, forming a dragon claw. This claw shot out, coming first into contact with the scruff of his foe's neck. Using a method he'd first learned in the wilds of a jungle island, Lucas re positioned himself behind and began to choke his foe into submission. After struggling for what seemed to be an age, the pirate lost consciousness and joined his comrade in the ranks of the defeated. Lucas let go and lay there staring at the cloud covered sky. He stayed like that until his panting subsided and he was sure no one had stirred. The two bodies were not so easily disposed of, he had to drag them individually to the side of the bridge and toss them overboard. He muffled the sound of the bodies hitting the ocean by timing them with the lapping of water against the bridge.

With the patrol taken care of Lucas started towards the Guard Tower. Hiding himself in the shadow of the building proved impossible so he didn't even try. He tried his luck and quickly dashed into the building, turning to his left once inside to put himself behind some cover. No response, only the same sounds as before. This time they were clearer, someone was talking. It was difficult to make out but the flow of the conversation bordered on argumentative. This worked in his favor, allowing Lucas to wait until his target began to curse so that he could move forward undetected. Oscar was a man who possessed a simple vocabulary so it wasn't long until he'd reached him. The door being ajar made it all the more easier to spy.

"Listen Hombre, you let them get away with the guns. After they left the meetin' spot, you cut them up and take them back. How simple is that? We get the money and the weapons...No. You let me worry about Brent."

Oscar took his pistol from his holster and peered out of the window. "'course he won't like it, that's why we gotta convince him or kill him and you know that means more money for us."

Lucas smiled to himself and backed away from the room. There was a rift between the two he was most worried about. If he made himself scarce and let them duke it out, he could swoop in and beat them both senseless. Just as he was about to turn and leave, he stepped on a loose floor board. A resounding crack cut the relative silence, sending pieces of splintered wood into the air. The element of surprise was lost and bullets began to zip past him. "Is that you, Brent? Did'ja think ya could sne-" Oscar's smug speech was cut short by Lucas' abrupt entrance. Bursting through the bullet ridden door, he closed the gap between the two of them before Oscar could get his bearings and prime his pistol. Unfortunately Lucas was not quick enough to get within striking range, which gave Oscar a relatively clear shot.

If there had been no briefing on the abilities, strengths and general dispositions of the parties involved in this arms deal Lucas most likely would have taken a couple bullets, but he'd been forewarned. As soon as the barrel met level with him he jerked himself forward and into a roll. He used the momentum of his roll to reach Oscar, knocking the gun off target. His next strike was not powerful, it was merely intended to make his opponent uncomfortable. A swift thrust with a dragon claw at Oscar's crotch led to a very predictable result. Oscar doubled forward in pain, grabbing Lucas' wrist in the same motion. He used the butt of his pistol to slap him across the face, as Oscar completed the motion he turned the pistol back towards Lucas and fired. Pain radiated from his nose, causing his vision to blur momentarily. Suddenly there was an amazing amount of pain in his left arm, enough to cause him to buckle at the knees. But instead of loosening his grip Lucas held on harder. He propelled himself upwards, aiming a wild elbow strike at Oscar's chin. The blow struck, but not where it was intended. The immense pressure in his nether regions caused him to bend forward once more. It was at this moment that Lucas' elbow struck his sternum. Due to the force of the strike, the pirate's heart was forced to skip a beat, sending his organs into confusion and creating an opening.

Lucas lept at the chance. Letting go of his hold he struck his foe repeatedly and without mercy. His fists were precise and methodical in that they switched between open palm, dragon palm, and fist strikes. Under a seemingly unending onslaught, Oscar's fortitude finally caved. The pirate captain slumped to the floor under the weight of Lucas' will. He stood over the greasy pirate, covered in a thin film of sweat and blood. His nose felt fractured and he was losing a good amount of blood from the bullet wound. He'd need to spirit himself away to recover before confronting Brent.

His scuffle with Oscar was loud so Lucas left quickly, pinching his shoulder to stave the flow of blood. He climbed down a set of stairs and found a storage room. It would work perfectly for what he needed to do next. Lucas slid down the stone wall until he was seated, removing a scalpel from his pouch. He removed his bandanna, waded it up, and stuck it in his mouth. Using the scalpel to remove the bullet was painful but cleaning the wound was necessary. The bullet hit the stone ground with a faint 'clink' signalling his ordeal (at least for the moment) was done. Lucas tore part of his marine uniform up, using the strips to dress his wounds.

As soon as he finished wrapping himself up Lucas felt a powerful shockwave. He jumped to his feet, exiting the storage room. Brent had knocked down a supporting pillar and was brandishing it wildly. It seemed as if he'd heard the gunshots and came to investigate their cause. His eyes narrowed as soon as he saw the marine emblem emblazoned on Lucas' shirt.

"I should have known there'd be another filthy marine. Curses!" And with that remark, the towering mass of muscle barreled towards the young marine. With little time to assess the situation, Lucas was forced to resort to a very basic instinct innate in all human beings. Fight or flight.

Ever since he washed up on that forgotten isle in the calm belt, Lucas had learned to trust in his own abilities. Knowing when to run and when to fight was paramount to surviving such a deadly place. He had known ever since accepting this mission that he could take him on if the time was right. Unfortunately the time was not and yet he fought with all his might. Instead of turning to run and re-position himself, Lucas sprinted towards the man. His choice puzzled Brent, especially since he was sporting a stone pillar that would out-range the lad quite easily. Lucas made his approach wildly, locking his iron fist bar. The weight and sheer girth of his foe's weapon would most likely make his attacks sluggish. Brent wound up and swung the pillar at him. As he neared Lucas slid onto his knees, letting the pillar smash the air where he'd been. As he cleared it he began to wind up for a punch. The Banker let go of the pillar and used the momentum to twist his body, letting loose a destructive kick. Lucas took a direct hit which sent him flying backwards. His body spun several times before skidding to a stop.

All of the air inside of his lungs had been forcibly ejected, causing him to gasp for air. After what seemed to be an eternity, he regained his senses but stayed curled up on the ground. Brent was overenthusiastic and had begun a monologue. It was mostly what one would expect of an overzealous pirate, a very vanilla speech about how the navy was no good."You won't be able to off me, kid. It'll be yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeears before you can face me!" All Lucas could think about was that if he took another one of those kicks it was lights out for him. He slowly got to his feet, checking his arm bar for damages. It was then that an idea hit him. He smiled slyly and started walking towards the man. "You think we got all of our information from thin air?" The color drained from the pirate's face. The mistrust had already been there, Oscar was not exactly known for being a trustworthy person."Oscar now, hamstring him!" Lucas looked off to the side, behind Brent as he spoke. The deception worked for the most part. Brent turned on his heels and sidestepped. On this cue Lucas dashed forwards and cut to the side so that he would be in Brent's blindspot. Upon noticing that Oscar was not behind him, Brent began to turn again. But at this point it was too late, Lucas was there. Using his momentum, he smashed Brent square in the jaw as he turned. Every ounce of strength he could muster plowed a bar of iron across this giant's face. Brent tumbled backwards and crashed into the staircase. Before he could force his way free from unconsciousness, Lucas ran over and made sure he was knocked out. As soon as he'd confirmed his defeat, Lucas slumped down on the stairs. The blow he took earlier had cracked several of his ribs. After several moments of deep breathing he eased himself up. It didn't take him long to find restraints, but then again this used to be a guard tower. He cuffed all the pirates he'd taken out and brought them to lay next to Brent. He didn't have the strength right now to carry the large man, he'd need to wait until reinforcements arrived. Lucas ran up the stairs, grabbing Oscar's Den den mushi. He used it to signal an S.O.S. message to a navy hotline and then rushed back down to the warehouse. Although he didn't carry any explosives, he decided he'd improvise using the gunpowder. He spaced the barrels apart and used an entire barrel to create a fuse leading out of the warehouse. He lit the fuse using the primer of a pistol. As soon as the fuse was lit, he started to limp away, using his fingers to cover his ears. There was a deafening explosion which caused him to lose his balance and fall to his knees. With the weapons warehouse destroyed and the primary targets incapacitated, Lucas' mission had been completed. It wouldn't take long for his fellow marines to reach this part of the bridge, he'd been reassured earlier that there'd be a navy patrol in nearby waters. Lucas returned to the Guard tower to survey his prey until reinforcements arrived.
