Lord Infamous Taka, Treachery, Eye Scope ✘ Yotsuba Island. This would be Ondori's first stop during his term in the West Blue, but his business here would be extremely brief for he was only here for one reason and with luck on his side, he'd be able to finish up in the same day he had arrived. This island practically being Marine haven, it was abundant with materials and technology you wouldn't normally find on islands in the Four Blues. Ondori had to admit he really had fucked himself over by choosing to retreat back to the Four Blues when he left Baltigo, finding materials to satiate his curiosity for science was becoming much harder here since technology didn't really make its way down here till many years later. He always thought he would be able to fall back on his knack for inventing things for a means to make money should he ever need to put up the sword, but he never saw such a thing becoming the case. Ondori didn't even think he'd be able to go on living should he ever need to permanently give up his life of fighting. Those were things to think about on his way out of Yotsuba while he was drifting towards Illusia. Right now he needed to focus on the task at hand or heist at hand rather. On his way here on the ferry he had drawn up the design for his latest invention, a bomb that operated via an electronic timer. One could ask what use would such a thing have, bombs have fuses for a reason, so bombs were naturally already time bombs, but they would be wrong. With this invention not only would Ondori feel more accomplished, but this would allow for something that normal bombs couldn't do. Underwater detonation. Since the fuse was protected by rubber wires and the presence of fire only would last for a fraction of a second before detonation, these explosives could be deployed while underwater which opened up many options like sinking ships with the slightest bit of effort. It was honestly a genius invention, but many would overlook it, no matter however. The design was simply. You had your bundle of dynamite sticks a timer that counted down how many seconds until detonation and when the timer reaches zero it shorts out causing a surge of electricity to create a spark powerful enough to light the extremely small length of fuse connected to the sticks of dynamite which then detonate. Stepping off the ferry along with an associate of his, Bato, he ordered his employee to go reserve them a room at an inn while he carried out his business. Armed with his two katanas, Taka and Treachery, his Eye Scope was in one of his pockets. Shrouded in a cloak, he pulled the hood over his head and became a part of the night time's darkness. Heading towards the science ward, he got as far as he could casually walking the streets until he saw that the science ward on Yotsuba was gated and one needed to present identification to gain access. Barbed wire lined the top of the gate, so Ondori figured his only hope was nabbing some sort of identification from a Marine or finding a point where security wasn't tight and he'd cut a whole through the gate and enter. The latter mentioned was the simplest and cleanest in all honesty, he didn't need a murder investigation going on while he was on the island and trying to get off, it could lead to a possible delay. Moving through the alleyways, that bordered the gate to the science ward, even the exits to the alleyways towards the science ward were gated, but that wasn't much of an issue it just showed that security was pretty tight. Withdrawing his sword in the privacy of the alleyway he cut a whole in the gate, to get to the gate of the science ward, cutting a small whole in this second gate, he got on his hands and knees and crawled through. He didn't want anything big and noticeable, so he kept it small. Now on the inside, he stayed on the edges of buildings to stay out of site. Since it was night time there weren't many marines walking the area, but still enough that he couldn't just waltz out into the open and slip into the tech building. He stayed still unanimated as he thought of how he'd make his way inside the building, then noticed that while he was thinking he heard the constant sound of water sloshing about. Looking around for the source of the noise he saw a trough that ran in the ground to the different buildings, it was just wide enough for him to fit inside of, all he could do is hope that the substance truly was water. A metal channel covering this pathway of water, Ondori covertly followed the channel to the end of the science ward where each of the channels dumped out into the ocean. "Nice to know the World Government are concerned about the environment." Ondori chuckled to himself, but the voice of another startled him. "Who's there?" The owner of the voice was hidden in darkness and Ondori could only hope he was as well. Frozen and daring not to move a muscle, he listened to the owner of the voice shuffle about down near where the channels leaked out into the ocean, the footsteps were messy and it sounded like they were stepping in mud and exerting themselves just to lift their feet out of the messy goop. "Can you give me a helping hand, I can't shout because then the commanding officer will find out I've been napping, but I'm stuck down here because of this damn goop." Ondori remained silent, hoping the man would just disappear into thin air and leave him to his business, but he knew such a thing would never happen. Should he kill him? No, there was a better way, not everything needs to be solved with killing, but what was a better alternative? "I'm actually only here to do maintenance on these channels, can you tell me which one of these is coming from the tech building?" Ondori stepped forward closer to where the man was down a small slope. There were five channels draining into the ocean. "Uh yeah, the second one away from you leads to the tech building, but could you-" Before the man could finish talking, Ondori extended a hand to the man that he grasped and Ondori pulled the man out the goop much to his disapproval for it was now all on his hand. Wiping it on his cloak, he jumped down the slope near the mouth's of the channel, his sandals instantly being eaten by the thick goop. "Whew, thank yo-" Before the marine could even say thanks, Ondori had slipped out his sandals and into the channel's mouth. The liquid that was draining out the technology ward luckily water, perhaps it was the stuff coming out of the cybernetics and chemical buildings that were making the goop. The thought of what was int he cybernetics building entertained Ondori as he continued to crawl through the metal channel until he reached the end of it. He found himself in what was assumed to be a restroom, the water coming from the combined pipelines from the sinks. He was where he needed to be, but now he had to figure out how to get out the damn channel. "Guess now is a better time than ever." He thought to himself as he reached his hand down to the handle of his katana Taka. With barely enough room to withdraw the blade, he had to find a way to create enough space to get a decent swing. Turning his body onto his back so he would be facing upwards, he pulled his arm back, Taka held in a backhanded grip. As if he was trying to punch the face of the metal channel that imprisoned him before making contact he angled the strike upwards and successfully the blade dug through the metal channel. Just pulling the weapon up further, Ondori just cut a line along the channel until a line as long as his body was cut in the channel, pulling the blade back into the channel, then into its sheath he pressed his feet against the two cut halves of the channel and pressed them open until he could wedge himself out the tight space, clothes drenched. Once outside, he stepped on the two kicked out pieces of metal to make it seem like they hadn't been bent out of shape. Now inside the Tech Building, he discarded his cloak to reveal a buttoned down shirt and slacks, something Ondori never wore, but he needed to appear like he belonged in the Tech Building. Albeit he was soaked, he looked like he belonged kinda. Stowing his weapons and cloak away in an air duct, he slipped out the restroom and wandered around the Tech Building until he found a room labelled, "Scrap Room". No one was in there and there should be an abundance of materials to use without people noticing something is gone missing or him being disturbed. Finding the materials he needed, he took the scraps and sat on the floor with them as he crafted his explosive device. It took him about an hour to do, on the occasion people entered the room, but no one really gave him a hard time, just a bit of small talk, saying he wasn't familiar, etcetera, etcetera. Something he did learn about though was a man-made island in the Grandline that the Marines dedicated to the advancement of Technology. It was called Tres Iron Lotus and only the most promising scientist were invited there to study and work for the Government. "Maybe a short term in the ranks of the Marines couldn't hurt" He entertained the thought for a while before dismissing it as blasphemous, for he'd be robbed of so many freedoms and he'd have to take orders. He didn't really care about having someone above him and ordering him about, but he always found himself wanting to test the person's authority or seeing if they were fit enough to lead by attacking them, thus why he wasn't still in Baltigo. He wouldn't last in the Marines, so he just focused on finishing the Time Bomb and before he knew it he was done, but he still wanted to work on some more things. It wasn't often he had all these materials at his hands to work with, so he would take full advantage of the opportunity. In addition to his Time Bomb he had went and concocted an organic mixture he had learned about in Baltigo that caused Paralysis upon entering the bloodstream. Once he was done he gathered his things and left the same way he had come, then retired to the inn Bato had reserved for the two of them. They'd be leaving for Illusia in the morning. 1888/1000 Invent 888/750 Paralysis Agent [Exit] |
