Today was a wonderful day in the life of Honora Fairchild. She enjoyed morning tea, spent some time at the local beach, put some extra money in her pockets, and enjoyed a good cup of afternoon tea. No fight had broken out, there wasn’t a drunk teammate she needed to look for, and Diana had been on her best behavior. All in all, this was a good day for the kuja, a peaceful one and she hoped she could enjoy more days like this one.

Right now, she was making her way to the local bathhouse for a moment of true relaxation, there still being plenty of time before the sunset and she would have to return to her room to check on Diana. So, she was going to enjoy it. Too bad her green-haired companion, Elizabeth, wasn’t around for she would’ve loved to soak in the hot bath water whilst discussing mundane stuff with the woman, but there was always next time. She just needed to hit up whatever bar or inn the woman would be at.

Anyways, she was walking down the street, minding her own business when something rather strange caught her eye. Now, she had been traveling since she was young, but never had she come across a young man with a… now that she thought about it, she didn’t know what the hell he was walking. She paused for a moment, looking at the creature as she quickly searched her brain for an answer. She had to have seen one before during her travels, but she was coming up with nothing.

Now curious, and with plenty of time to hit the bathhouse, she decided that she would just ask the apparent owner of the pet. He would, obviously, know since she couldn’t fathom someone purchasing a pet without knowing what it was. So, she put herself directly in his path, closing the distance between them. She was a good three meters away before she attempted to grab his attention.

“Er. Excuse me, sir. But, uh, what is that?”

She said, halting her advances and pointing at his pet.

Honora stared at the owner of the, now, identified komodo dragon for several seconds before directing her attention to the lizard. She brought herself as close to it’s level as crouching would allow her. Her attention would remain on the lizard for a solid minute or so, the kuja not making a move whilst it sniffed at her with what she could only assume was a faint sense of curiosity. It was quite the fascinating creature, but not one that would’ve suited her. She already had to look after Diana, entirely her fault, and she was a handful sometimes, so a pet was out of the question. One day, perhaps, she could own something as exotic as the man before her.

Her eyes snapped back up to the male, the kuja having become aware that she had bypassed her manners in favour of figuring out what sort of pet he owned. Though he didn’t seem to mind the fact she hadn’t given her name, Honora would quickly rectify the situation. She stood up abruptly, a small smile on her face. If she was somebody who was nervous, she would’ve been chuckling at this point, but luckily for her she had grown out of that stage long ago.

“Apologies for my lack of manners. I am Honora Fairchild.”

She said with a slight bow that lasted no more than three seconds. She tilted her head to the side and interlocked her fingers behind her back. Her attention was solely on the man now.

“You are?”

Honora tilted her head to the side, the kuja fighting a sense of confusion that threatened to make its way on her face. She had said her name not too long ago and it had been before the young man now known as Byron did the same, so requesting her name seemed odd. Perhaps he hadn’t heard her and maybe it was out of habit, either way the kuja would oblige him. She wouldn’t do the theatrics of bowing again though. That was a one time thing and she was just repeating her name.

“Honora.”

She finally responded, a small smile on her face. She glanced down at the lizard for several seconds, considering something before looking at Byron again.

“It’s nice to meet your acquaintance, Byron.”

She said, pausing for a second before continuing.

“Got anything that you are doing today?”
