Back in the forest within Yotsuba Island. It has been a few days since the "incident" that took place here between the young ensign, and crazed elderly man. With his recoveries healed, or at least as healed as they could get, James found himself back in the forest, looking for the man who did this to him. Was he looking for revenge, or maybe answers? Even he wasn't too sure about it, or if it was even wise to be doing this.
The sound of footsteps pressing down on the ground, cracking some fallen branches caused some of the nearby wildlife to flee. James took a good look around, his face almost emotionless not just from what happened to him here, but from the pointless killings he's seen the other day in town by a fellow marine of higher rank. It's as if reality slapped him across the face. He stopped walking, and looked down with his eyes closed for a bit. "....Hmph." A small smile grew on his face before looking back up with his eyes opened. He was about to continue on until he noticed from the side of his eyes a group of familiar looking foxes. They looked at the boy for a few seconds before wandering off. Perhaps they knew better than to try, and attack him this time.
The ensign continued to walk until he found himself in a familiar clearing. He stopped right in the middle of this ten meter circular area before putting a hand on the side of his shoulder. It was then he began to rethink that moment in his head. He closed his eyes once more as that scene played itself, being in mid air, suddenly his by a burst of air clean in the chest before falling. Before he could hit the ground, he was hit with an even stronger attack in the same area. The terrifying sound of bones shattering caused James to quickly open his eyes, clenching his shoulder hard as he made a sound as if he were gasping for air. He began to breathe heavily while looking around, sighing as he realized that it was just in his head. He then let go of his shoulder, and placed the hand on his chest, pressing it a bit until he winced. The pain was still there.
The sound of nearby bushes rustling put the marine on edge. He clenched his fists, and held them up in a fighting position towards the bush. Who could it be? Was it the foxes, and wolves from before coming back for revenge, or could it be...that man? Sweat rolled down the boy's skin as he stood there. The bushes went silent. Wind began to pick up, causing the boy's unzipped green coat to flow before stopping. Something then emerged from the bushes.
It was...yet another fox, but it wasn't one of the foxes that attacked him before, it was Felix, the fox James befriended. James stood all the way back up, and sighed before smiling. "It's just you, Felix." the ensign knelt down as the fox approached him, petting him on the head as he got close. It was then, James realized he had something in his mouth. A folded up piece of paper. "Oh?" Felix rested the paper on the ground near James, obviously wanting him to pick it up. The marine looked at him before looking at the paper, picking it up, and unfolding it. His eyes widened as he recognized what it was.
It was the treasure map he was following before.
