Normally Reina would be panicking being lost in a brand new island with no one to guide her,but today she was too immersed in the sights to be upset in the slightest. Sure today was supposed to be her first day of training for the Aqua Laguna evacuation planning and training, but she just couldn't help exploring water 7 instead. It was an Amalgamation between being a giant water fountain and a robot city. For hours she spent just sitting on a rooftop admiring the surge from the afternoon flushing of the city's water.
The roaring of the surging water sometimes made her wince and the impact and force of the stream sometimes knocked her off balance. Bystanders didn't mind it much, most of em went about their day and simply made sure to not be outside when it erupted. But for her, it was a new spectacle. The citizens explained to her that it was millions of tons being filtered a day. Taking out the city's waste and filling their water elevators... To which Reina rushed off to try.
About an hour later she found herself before a big crowd of people from all walks of life. Some were rich aristocrats with top hats and monocles. They strode along with a sense of superiority and uppityness. Then there were the regular citizens who usually cleared a path for them begrudgingly, but for the most part they shrugged it off quickly and began to converse amongst themselves. Reina took note of their strong willed selves and hoped to one day to be able to shrug off such arrogance. As she was squeezing an iron railing, a girl approached her. " Hey hey now, don't make extra work for the maintenance crew hehe". Reina felt a hand on her should and with a dazed look turned to find a blonde haired girl dressed in oil stained work clothing. Reina looked down to find her fist was indeed putting imprints into the railing and pull away with a flushed face.
" Oh haha you don't have to be that way girl! I suppose you're a newbie who just got here"? she asked, extending a hand to reina. She looked at the hand and back at her and slowly became less withdrawn to firmly accept the hand shake. She scratched her head and chuckled rhythmically for a second, " sometimes rich bastards get on my nerves. Sorry about th---uh railing. The name's reina. how about yers"?
The blonde smile as she pulled her hand back. " I'm Lana, but most people call me the salty siren...cuz uhmm". she said, trailing off a bit while realizing she said something unnecessary. Reina just sort of tilted her head and leaned back on the railing and smiled back at her." Well miss salty pants. do you know where the ship yard is? I want to try and commission a super cool ship and see some cool stuff".
Lana's eyes widened at the thought of ships, her eyes seemed to sparkle ever so slightly at the mere mention. " Ships you say? come join me at the salty spitoon and we'll talk about it"! Reina stammered a bit trying to get another word in,but she couldn't. Lana grabbed her wrist and dragged her off when the cargo door on the sea elevator opened up.
