Having landed safely on the coastline of Drum, Birdie began his voyage back to the ship on foot. The adrenaline finally expended, he felt the warm trickle of his own blood leaking out of his left shoulder. He hadn't even heard gunfire directed at him, but apparently he was being shot at and even more surprisingly he had been shot. "Fuck." He applied pressure around the entry wound and like one popped a pimple, he gradually squeezed the small spherical bullet out his shoulder. "Ain't that a bitch. Bomb the Reverie and get out without a scratch, but try to rob a ship and get a bullet lodged in my arm." He shook his head, disappointed at himself as he ripped the cloth of a sleeve and turned it into a bandage to halt the bleeding. Arm covered in a dress shirt or not, unless he had a thick coat he would be cold as hell on this island and that's exactly what he was.
Trotting through the snow he shivered violently as he trekked back tot he ship, then remembered what it was he had a death grip on the whole time. The cloak from the assassin. Tossing it on, as he did so a letter fell out of one of the pockets and into the snow. He hummed curiously as he crouched down to pick it up out the snow. Continuing to walk, he opened it and read the contents of it to himself. When he was done he didn't know how to feel upon discovering it was Cervantes who hired the hitmen. He knew he was mad about what happened on the ship a few days ago, but Cervantes had said he had this job lined up even before that day. So regardless if Birdie had acted an ass or not, Cervantes was already trying to have him dead. Finding it all to be quite funny, Birdie laughed out loud to himself as he kept walking to the ship, eager as hell to see Cervantes' face. Bundling up even tighter int he cloak to hide his features and appear as the assassin, Birdie couldn't erase the smile from off his face as he crunched through Drum Island.
Many scenarios played through his head during his voyage, all of which of course ended with him killing Cervantes and finally spreading his wings and truly flying to due what he was destined to do. What that was was be a catalyst and super power in this world. He wanted to be feared and respected. Not so much an enemy of the World Government or an ally, but he wanted to be recognized as something greater than just a man, but as an entity or force of nature.
