Life. A rudimentary ideal. As much a philosophy as it was a motivation for those who believed in their pursuits or otherwise others’. To some extent, the world still remained exactly like it had for all the time that it had been in the past, and so too, did the people want to believe it, though everyone was well enough aware that it could never be the case.  The people wandered through the streets aimlessly of the Crane territory, trying all that they could to hopefully ignore the fact that recent events had all in all managed to debase the area, going even further with the dojo, reducing what was once a powerful group, one that had been responsible for producing powerful leaders like The Crane Brothers, into nothing more than a group of wannabe martial artists. Truth be told, it wasn’t a particularly unique situation. In the last few years, multiple dojos had begun to suffer as others had become more and more powerful. The Shadow Monkeys had been on the decline for years prior to this, even back before the invasion of Dragons. The Raging tiger, Mr. Miyagi’s dojo had managed to remain as it had been, securely powerful attributed to their powerhouse leadership. The 9 Serpents, at one time being a shining example of power and strength, led by Master Hiro, seemed to wane in strength as time went on.

The art of the Crane. The five senses of a human being was their reality. It was their everything. What they knew, what they perceived, how they though and how they interacted with the world. To be born without any of the five main senses, while the others would certainly be enhanced and focused on, would leave someone missing a chunk of their life. They'd never know it or be aware of this sad, sad fact. But it was the truth. To be born without one fifth or more of what made you able to function put you at a relative disadvantage. This was the very reason that everyone was at risk to be behind. Just as easy, and random, the chances of being placed behind were, there was chances to exceed. To surpass the realm of being human and to partake in the ability to truly excel at one, or more, of these senses. A transcended understanding of the world around you, if only in its most basic sense. A Master of this Crane art was a force to be reckoned with. One that Qilin had to deal with head on.

As the Master of the hidden Crane art and his Zoan fruit, his sensory far exceeded that of any human beings. Being a hunter of even other martial arts masters, he had come to memorize basic and unique individuals and relate them in accordance to their origins in his mind. So when this sixth sense of feral aggression in an area where wild animals and pets were few and far between, he wondered what had entered his part of town? Making his way slowly, his nose picked up another scent from the same direction. The scent of someone he had met long ago, if he wasn't mistaken. As he cleared distance between himself and the origins of this smell, he finally saw him right as she entered a restaurant.

A grin formed itself underneath the mask. It was exactly who he thought it was. Miyagi, of The Tiger Claw. How ironic it had been that this was once a person who inspired utter fear in in the Crane Master. Now that he was himself a renowned martial artist, he had nothing but curiosity. Was this Grand Master now able to stand up to him, a Grand master in his own right? Walking towards the restaurant, stopping every time Miyagi moved, he watched how he acted. He hadn't seen him since their meeting in the tournament, and it was very likely that even if he hadn't the mask on he'd never recognize him. Even now, he had no idea what skill he had accrued. If, for some strange reason, he had knew who he was, he'd never be able to guess now. Though he no longer inspired fear in him, he still wasn't stupid. He understood that despite the fact that he could most likely overpower the older man and most people now, he was still a threat. A big threat. He was also accompanied by the rather large man who killed his sons. That had to be the animalistic presence he was feeling. That beast of a man…..He had to proceed with caution.

Today Qilin was seeking a pure strain sake today. Unfortunately it wasn’t as easy as walking into the local store; you couldn’t just pick up a good quality sake from anywhere or so Qilin had learned over the last few years. Besides, even if they had been easy to come across they were incredibly expensive for a pirate now on the lower end of the totem pole living off his sparse savings. He’d turned to his sensei for help who had in turn offered to take him to a restaurant that was selling a small quantity of the sake he had come to love. Some research and poking around gifted him the knowledge to know that the sake would sell out fast. That was how he’d ended up in the Crane territory restaurant catching a seat in the back.

Looking around the room after a few glasses of the potent liquid he barely made out the familiar surroundings from the blur of colors he was seeing. If he squinted he could just about make out the characters on the wall but if he’d not known what they were he might have mistaken them for dinosaurs. It was no good; he was going to have to wear his drunk glasses if he was going drink this stuff. Grabbing the sake from the table he carefully slid the glass to his lips taking another sip. Given the purity he decided to enjoy it versus the usual act of just throwing it down his throat. A glance in the direction of the door had him thinking the sake was a little stronger than expected but in fact it was him, Master Crane himself…and the term Master was used very loosely. Yes it was The Hidden Crane and where there was a Crane there was a fight. Instinctively he looked to Mr. Miyagi to warn him of the danger if he had not yet picked up on it. Surely the words lead by example had never crossed Mr. Miyagi’s head today as he was probably the most intoxicated person in the building. Master Crane had definitely picked the right opportunity to strike with his master being robbed of his senses and he being left to his own devices nearly intoxicated himself. The occupants did not have the sixth sense ability as Master Crane did but they definitely picked up on the tension in the air and before Qilin could finish rubbing his eyes and focus the room was completely clear.

Strong fingers lead his hand to the hilt of his hammer as the inevitable was about to occur and before long he could hear the pounding foot steps of Master Crane coming towards him before they were drowned out by his patented war cry. Crane removed his sword as Qilin lifted his hammer and swung and the two weapons collided sending Master Crane back about 6 feet from the unexpected weight of the hammer that was parried by his sword. He estimated from the strike that the hammer had to be over 500 pounds but Qilin swung it with such ease that he was startled. Even for a man his size to swing that hammer with a single hand was incredible. Master Crane knew from that moment that he had to approach with caution.  Qilin’s eyes stayed focus on his target and feet stayed on the balls not to be caught flat footed and he was on guard for any counter attack that may be projected his way. He was intimately familiar with the environment now so he didn’t need to look around to know exactly how to circumvent an attack that came his way. It seemed that Master Crane had the same idea and the two men rushed forward toward each other again and Qilin swung his hammer at the Older Master’s head who quickly blocked and quickly attempted to stab at the larger man’s abdomen. Qilin twirled the large hammer with ease deflecting the blade inches from his skin before Master Crane did a back hand spring to create some space. The Crane style master kicked a chair that flew at Qilin who smashed it into pices with his hammer. Wood chips flew everywhere creating debris as the seasoned Master took advantage of the momentary distraction and performed a flying kick that landed square to Qilins chest sending him into a nearby table. A swift backward barrel roll granted him much needed space of his own as his adversary attempted to follow up with a lethal stab. The distance granted Qilin an opportunity to get back on his feet and once again the men were face to face. The two charged each other once more after a moment of intense silence this time Master Crane swinging first meeting the steel neck of Qilins hammer. The old man stomped on the ground with his left foot triggering a hidden spring blade inhis shoes that he instantly via kick sent towards the Amatu’s ribs. Forced to drop his hammer and finding himself on the defensive again he went into a relaxed stance as the metal weapon hit the ground with a very loud thud.

Sensing Qilins pending defeat the Crane Master smiled as his flesh began to shift and change color. His appearance actually came to look more like a crane/human hybrid. Qilins eyes widened in shock but not for long. Whistling softly to himself as if to not alert the the bigger to his presence just yet, he charged up Haki into his blade and waited a few seconds until the larger man unknowingly was within a rather optimal range to use his technique. Sword glowing softly from the charge, he raised it up to around chest level before turning the blade so that it was perpendicular to the ground. Holding it back slightly as if he were going to throw the blade itself, he swung the blade quickly and quietly, the sharp edge splitting the wind around it without so much as a swish before a large arc of energy around ten meters wide shot out of the edge of the blade suddenly in an intent to catch the Amatsu as he expected him to backpedal away from the incoming rain of projectiles. Charging further Haki into his blade he continue to swing nonchalantly from his place behind the two tables, arcs of illuminated energy flying out as he slashed diagonally, vertically and even in an arc in various directions using the full forward vision and motion of his body to slice through various wooden furnishings and even the sky, cutting off any path of true escape. Qilin would narrowly dodge a few of the attacks, one nearly severing his arm as he performed a baseball slide to his hammer grabbing it and knocking the energy from the air like baseballs while closing the gap between the two. Qilin reared back as if to hit the Master with the hammer and the Master Crane braced for impact. Instead Qilin struck the ground his hammer splitting the floor and causing his opponent to fall to the underground cellar below with a hard impact. "Knowledge and patience, the only counter to greater skill."  He heard from Mr. Miyagi who sat back sober as ever looking at the event that took place. “You have been taught well” Qilin looked to the corpse below and smiled gripping his bleeding shoulder that was sliced open during Master Crane’s final attack. He and Miyagi looked to each other and laughed before heading back to the Dojo.
