Wade couldn't help but look out into the ocean as the ship quietly sailed. The water was almost completely black, as it was nighttime, and the only real light source they had were the lights on the ship, as it was a New Moon tonight, leaving the surrounding area in utter darkness. Though his vision couldn't pierce through the thick carpet of blackness, he still looked. Something about the ocean soothed him, even though it'd probably be the death of him someday. Devil Fruits and water don't mix after all. At the thought of Devil Fruits Wade closed his eyes and let out a quiet sigh. He only ever used the Hebi Hebi no Mi once, and it was out of emotion. He was fighting a group of thugs and he was on the loosing side. As if it were instinct in-order to ensure his survival, he transformed. Though it is indeed useful, he never did use it again. Why? He himself doesn't know.
Perhaps he just hasn't found a reason to use it yet. Or maybe he was subconsciously trying to block it out. After all, it was his father's fault for making him eat it. But then again, if the Fruit really a bad thing? Though he wanted to think this topic through further, he was interrupted as Captain Jo Wang Shin came to him. Jo Wang Shin was a rather burly man with long, faded red hair, gray skin, and seemingly no eyes as he wore bandages over them. "Ensign Bainbrydge....," He began, "We're here. We can't get any closer to the base without being detected so you and the squad will have to use a rowboat the rest of the way." Wade, looking at the old man, simply nodded. Within a few moments time, he and 5 other ensigns were rowing away from the ship towards the island.
