Lying on the grass filled plains outside of any villages on Karate Island slept one young man who wasn't from around there. He wasn't really from anywhere in this world, as he had come from a land far above the clouds, a land where the clouds were methods of transportation, and where the people did not walk, or if they did it was a rare occurrence, as most of their time was spent high in the sky. They all had wings you see, it was a common trait for anyone from that land, and those wings were certainly powerful once y had trained in their use enough to sustain it for long periods of time. The elders, those that had lived longer than any others and were stronger than any others, were able to sustain their flight for days on end, and not only that, they were able to achieve great speeds with their wings, moving faster than the normal human eye could see, which was certainly an impressive feat, one in which Isaac found difficult even today to replicate, he was a long way off that speed at his current level, he had to get stronger. But his time in Skypiea, way above the clouds, beyond the limit of any normal human's vision, had certainly been a joyous time in Isaac's life. He had had many friends, a loving caring family, and a good life in general, while it lasted. His mother, a genuine, kind and compassionate woman by the name of Isabella, had loved Isaac from the moment of his birth. She had wanted a son for as long as she had been of age to give birth, and to finally have one was the most precious gift she could ever have. Isaac's father, a robust and strong man named Alexander, had from the start trained his son to become a strong man like himself, which had resulted in Isaac, then named Icarus, getting in a fair few fights in his younger years with various other people his age as they all tested their mettle to pass the time, with Icarus rarely coming out as the loser in such squabbles.
In fact, he could clearly remember one such fight, it was the last one he ever fought in and it was against his best friend as a child, Daedalus, although Isaac supposed his name on the Blue Sea would have been something mroe commonly seen among the islands, perhaps a David for example. It was a simple exchange of blows between two young teenagers trying to prove themselves and there was only one reason for it to occur: Madeleine, although they all referred to her as Madi as it was much simpler to say. However both Icarus and Daedalus, being the strongest two boys in the village having an equal win ratio, as they had only ever fought against each other, and in this they were equal, the two boys were both in love with Madi, and this was the fight. The Fight. The one which would decide who was allowed to ask their lover to marry them first. If they were rejected, the other got the oppurtunity. Of course, Madeleine was in no way aware of their contest, and instead scolded them for their fights whenever she saw them both, but that was not what was important now. The important thing was who would win this fight. They were equally tied, 749 wins to 749 losses each, having fought once every day since becoming teenagers, which amounted to roughly two years of fights, two years of their lives put just into fighting. Most of Icarus' wins had come from outmaneuvering Daedalus and tricking him, while the times when Daedalus caught Icarus in a corner were the times in which he came out the victor. Isaac was not a straightforward fighter, never had been, but now was the time to fight one last time. The fight to decide the true winner, after two years of their lives being used for fights, two years of them honing their intellect and fitness, and this would prove just who had come out on top, with one last bout.
