It had been two days since Marlo had went against those men at the casino and it was time for him to leave Centaurea Island and head to Karate Island for another mission that was given to him by the captain. During that two day time frame he had been training with the subordinates on the ship and had gotten a little better at combat, this was gonna be needed for this mission according to the captain so he did it without a doubt. Marlo seeing as though he needed a two day crash course in combat knew this mission would be a lot harder than the ones he had previously done so, he could not take his mind off of the possibilities that could happen during the fight and how he would handle them. Then he took out his book and began to enter his meditative state of reading and daydreaming at the same time, it was more of looking at the scenery of the stories the book told in extreme detail and putting himself in that world. He didn’t know how he picked this habit up, but it was probably being in that prison for so long and having to get his mind off of his surroundings.
After a few hours in this state he was interrupted by the knocking on the door which was a little unusual as everyone would just burst through his door, the captain came in and looked at him in a serious manner. “Well, it looks like you are growing faster than i expected, already in your second mission and it has been less than a week now. My how you are just like your father. Come to my office when you are ready, I will tell you all the details there.” The captain closed the door gently behind him and went to what Marlo assumed would be his office. Now that Marlo was left alone with his thoughts he began to think about why the captain looked so grim, well at least he wasn’t smiling this time which brought an air of uneasiness to Marlo. “I wonder what that face was about? i hope he isn’t worried about me.” Marlo said to himself getting up and taking his katanas with him. It was extremely dark outside when Marlo left his dorm and began to walk to the captain’s office, he passed by the lady that took him to the armory to receive his katanas and nodded his head as he passed her. She nodded back and looked down, now this was completely foreign to Marlo, he wondered what was going on as he continued his walk to the captain’s office. Once he finally got there which seemed like an eternity of a walk he opened the door and saw that captain sitting down as if he was pondering a pressing matter.
“Hello, Marlo. I seems you are ready to do your mission today.” The captain unfolded his fingers from one another and put them around a paper that he would hand to Marlo. “Okay, this is what you need to do, you only have to find out intel about Base #45. We don’t like to deal with things concerning Base 45# but it seems this is the task that was handed down to us. Everyone else is on their own individual task and you are all that is left.” The captain was looking dead in Marlo’s eyes trying to see if their were any unwavering emotions floating around, but Marlo’s face remained straight. “So I am a last resort?” Marlo didn’t like the idea of being the last resort when it came to a mission, but he would prove to the Captain that he could hold his own in all aspects of being a revolutionary. So, he walked off clutching the paper in his right hand. He was now off of the boat and walking through a dense forest which reminded him of how he became a revolutionary not too long ago. Marlo began to read the paper and seen the main objective was to stop the corruption of Karate Island by the marines and the sub objective was to get intel about Base #45. Marlo assumed the captain was about to tell him about the rest of the mission details before he stormed off, but it mattered not as he knew now what he had to do. Plus he would be completing both of these objectives to prove to the captain he could and would no longer be looked at as a “last resort”. It seemed he had to go to a village called ‘Budokan Village’ which according to the well drawn map wasn’t too far from where he was at the moment. He knew he was close because he seen a body of water where he spotted marines. There were too marines that were next to their rifles. “It seems as if I will have to murder one of them and gain access to the intel from the other.” Marlo began to creep through the foliage making sure not to uncover himself to the marines and compromising the whole mission.
Inching closer and closer to the marines he could see one of them was sitting away not looking at his fellow marine, this was his chance to take out the one gazing at the circular lake. Marlo unsheathed his katana and cut his throat while holding his mouth muffling any noise that was to come from it. He then went to the other marine and grabbed his mouth while putting him in a choke hold. “Nod your head for yes and shake for no. Do you understand?” The marine nodded his head telling Marlo he understood his demands. “Okay, tell me about base #45. Is it in the South Blue?” The marine nodded his head. “Good, you better not be lying to me or I will kill you.” Marlo said with a deep tone. “Is it north, south, east or west from here? Turn your head right for east, up for north, left for west and down for south.” The marine turn his head to the right signalling Marlo that it was east from this island. “Okay I will let you go, seeing as though it is a place for the higher ups I will ask another marine all the question I asked you and if they say something different I will come back to kill you.” Marlo said as he knocked the marine out hitting him with the hilt of his katana. Now he was off into the village of Budokan to take out the rest of the marines there.
Once making it into the village it seems there was three more marines that had rifles with a big looking marine who donned a giant axe by his side. This made it four marines in total that Marlo had to take out. Luckily for him he heard the big marine to go get the other marines as he finished up things there. “Heh.” Marlo began to stalk the other three marines through the forest as they walked through it, it seemed Marlo’s luck had ran out as he stepped on a stick alerting all of the marines. ‘Who’s there!’ One of them yells as they shift their guns back in forth scanning the area. Marlo panicked and jumped from the dense bushes he was hiding behind with both of his katanas raised and was able to take out one of them marines with one fell swoop of his katanas. The other two began to fire, Marlo knew he had to calm himself down so he began to breathe deeply and hid behind a tree. He then noticed that these rifles were bolt action and had to be reloaded. After figuring this out he heard “Shit, I need to reload!” At this moment Marlo lunged out from the tree and took the both of them out with slashes to their chest. “Damnit, they made too much noise.” Marlo ran back to the village wondering if the Marine Lieutenant was on alert. And that he was. “What did you good for nothin’s plan!” He yelled at the people of the village. “If one of you don't speak up I will decapitate this old woman right here!” Marlo immediately ran up to the marine saying. “It was me.” In his blood-stained clothes.
“Well, you have caused me great trouble! How will I report this to my superior?” The marine asked in a panicked manner. “That isn’t my concern. My only concern is saving these people from your tyrant so you can either leave or end up like the rest of your soldiers.” Marlo was a little agitated that he cared nothing about the actual lives of his man and he realized this was the type of person he hated the most. When the marine lieutenant heard this h lifted up his giant axe and swooped it down and Marlo, he didn’t expect the marine to be able to handle the axe with such speed and was almost caught by it. ‘Woah, you’re faster than I thought.” Marlo said dodging backwards The marine said no words and began his assault on Marlo, attack after attack Marlo had to endure with his blades although they did not break. Marlo grinned and continued to block while looking for an opening, for some reason it looked as though the axe would always hit on the right side of Marlo. Maybe his left arm was really capable of handling the axe, there was only one way to find out and that was to strafe to the left side of the marine directly after taking another one of the axe’s blows. As he did this the marine showed a face of shock as if Marlo had found his secret weakness and indeed he did. Marlo slashed the side of the marine making him unable to lift the axe without great pain. “All talk.” Marlo said as he sheathed one of his blades. “Now, I want you to tell me about base #45.” Marlo said. “Why would I tell you something like that!” The marine laughed. “I figured you would say something like that.” Marlo plunged his katana in the marine’s ankle making him cry out. “O-okay, I will tell you all I know.” After a few minutes of mumbling intel Marlo let the marine go and making sure the villagers were okay. After tending to them he went back to the captain’s ship feeling very confident.
Opening the door he was greeted with a weird expression that looked to be a cross between shock and fear. “M-marlo you made it back! Why would you leave so abruptly? I still had a lot of info to give you, like don’t do the sub objective.” The captain said now in an angered tone. “Well guess what? I found intel on the base.” Marlo said. “I don’t care about that, although it is important I first want to know where all of that blood came from. Did it come from you or the marines?’ He asked as if he were a worried mother. “Don’t worry I’m fine, but let me tell you all about the base.” And so Marlo briefed the captain about the base and they began to plan their next assault on the marines.
