Description: Allen has been accepted into the ranks of the marines, but now he'll be tested to receive his rank. He has to select an opponent from the others who've made it this far, and face them. The others will face off with each other in a similar manner until they've all fought.

After a long talk about his past, or at least what he was willing to share, with Captain Luther, Allen was ready to continue his basic training. By the sounds of the captain's words, he had no intention of condemning Allen to the life of a chore boy. Tomorrow, he was going on to face a much more advanced recruit. Well, his opponent might have been a recruit a few years ago, but he's been at it awhile now and was ready for a serious trial. Allen, having just joined up yesterday, was also deemed ready for this trial. He thought this was a good sign.

He got to pick the opponent in his meeting with Captain Luther. He very much wanted to show his prowess versus a weapon user, and now on this elevated stage he was going to get his wish. Sure he might be a little bit nervous, but at the same time, he knew that this is what he wanted, and nobody was going to get in his way, especially not now.

He was ready for this last test, that was for damned sure. He put on his uniform again and sprinted into the center of the yard. Most of the people were already there, so he thought he was running late. However, he didn't see Luther amongst the crowd, so he figured he must be at least a little early still. He did some stretches again while he waited. It'd done well for him yesterday, and if anything today he needed to be even more limber.

Allen was so distracted with his stretching that he didn't notice Captain Luther approaching. If he had, he probably would have gotten back on his feet and prepared to face Tatsaru. He was eager to face off with the guy, and he was excited to find out just how well he'd be ranked. He wasn't going to become an admiral off the bat, he knew that. It was at least a few years down the road, but he didn't anticipate it taking him more than 10 years. If he made a good impression to day, he could even see it happening in 5.

Luther rambled off the names of people who'd made it this far, giving them each recognition for their hard work over the last few years, and he skipped over Allen, not wanting the others to know he'd been just recruited yesterday. He was thankful, the last thing he needed was the other's thinking he was some rookie. All that Luther said about him was that he 'expected good results'.

Allen accepted that for what it was. He expected a lot from himself. After all, he was The Obsidian Dragon, he had a name to live up to. He didn't exactly understand what it meant, but the Ryusoken style he'd been taught was very much an integral tool for his dreams to come true. It suited him very well, at least how he uses it does. Non-lethal techniques are very much his forte. He's all about disabling enemies and taking them in, rather than killing them.

His plan was simple, show off all the techniques he knew, and do so without seriously maiming or killing his opponent. At the same time, he needed to show the power his techniques had. Luther accepted the vague explanation he gave about the Obsidian Dragon style, and didn't pry into his business, and Allen was thankful for that. He would much rather show him anyway.

Tatsaru stepped forward, and so did Allen. Their eyes locked across the yard as all the other's backed away to watch the fight. They were wise to step back, he wasn't sure how much he could control Tatsaru's fighting power. It was going to be a sight to behold, sure, but if he wasn't careful, Tatsaru could hurt someone inadvertently. He just hoped that he was mildly skilled with a blade.

Tatsaru made the first move, readying his sword before him and rushing at Allen. It wasn't very surprising, and Allen prepared to defend or evade whatever came at him. Tatsaru swung his large blade down towards Allen's right shoulder, but he was able to sidestep the slash. However, before he could capitalize and strike, Tatsaru shot his kneed up and hit Allen right in the chin.

The white haired young man was stunned, stumbling backward a few steps. He was surprised, but at the same time, relieved. He was glad he'd gotten his start of battle jitters out of the way. He usually got like this, a wee bit awkward at the start of a fight, but now he was ready for anything. He readied himself again, and waited for Tatsaru to strike.

As the young man brought his sword up again, Allen readied his left hand in the classic Ryusoken dragon-claw grip. As the sword came down to the center of his head, Allen's claw shot up and smacked into the side of the blade, causing Tatsaru to be turned away slightly.

Allen growled ferociously and followed up, bringing his left hand back, and shooting his right hand forward into the man's rib cage. He managed to knock the wind out of him, but Tatsaru wasn't out just yet. He turned to face Allen, and was preparing to strike again. Though, Allen had other plans.

As the man raised his sword to strike again, Allen brought both clawed hands forward in rapid motions, slamming into the boy's chest and abdomen repeatedly. In total, seven strikes smashed into his torso, and they piled up to an almost crippling level of pain.

Allen was going to continue with more strikes, but he saw the look of agony on the man's face, so he sympathized and stopped the assault. He instead turned to Luther and crossed his arms. "So, what do we say to that?"

Luther smirked and shook his head laughing. "Damned kid, well we'll talk more when the other's have their turn, but congratulations, Ensign."
