Spook
Task Name: Fruits
Tier: 1
NPC or PC: PC
Location: Ilusia Island (Blues)
Crew, Team, or Personal: Personal
Description: The word of fruits got to Spook, he learned about fruits-- what they did and what they could do. His interest seems to peak a certain fruit, to start his conquest he must seek more information about the fruit he intends to take for himself.
Enemy Details: None
Boss: None

Spook was sitting in the grandest of grand libraries of Ilusia. It was dusty, old. The wooden planks around him creaked whenever someone stepped on them. Aside from alerting Spook it also served as a nuisance, but it motivated to keep himself on edge nonetheless.

The dusty books he was reading indicated that they were of age. He was researching, he heard some casual banter form the marines away-- located near the dock. They were talking about magical powers, powers he didn't know existed. Of course, he didn't tamper with these marines after he heard what he wanted, he rather left and went on his way to find more research about it. It's been a few days since he's heard that information. After obtaining the information he needed to initiate the grandest of things he went on his way, and thus, he arrived at this place. The grand library of Ilusia, given, it's not that grand-- it was more that Spook made it seem more grandiose than it actually was. By romanticizing things, he saw more positive in the world, positive he would otherwise not see. For example, he could complain about everything and question it, making him skeptical-- but such is a sad way to live life; at least, according to Spook that is.

He grabbed a book from one of the higher shelves, which had more dust on it than other shelves. This book had a worn out binder. As Spook grabbed the book, he slapped it, in order to clear it free from dust.

There was so much dust, it might have given Spook the good ol' cancer. After climbing down the stairs he put up against the top shelf he laid the book on a table, he took the stairs off the shelf and moved it else where. He grabbed a wooden seat and pushed it against the table, so he could sit while reading. How glorious. Much of the book didn't make much sense to him, it was... encrypted? Something about the book seemed off-- most of the nuances and the language in general seemed like morse coding,

'Al who yee see into the crevice of darkness.'

Sentences like those made him skeptical. He couldn't quite understand it, perhaps it was a good idea to involve someone with a more analytical mind. Perhaps if they were an expert at maths or deciphering codes like these he could understand more of it. He took the book and put it in his coat, he got some other books close to the odd one as well, maybe they would help. After finding a couple of more books he laid some cash on the register, he registered that he bought a few books, but didn't register that he took the odd one; if it was as valuable as he felt it was he should be more intelligent about it. Hide his traces and all that. He had a good idea, someone he knew would be able to tell more about the book. Not because of their expertise in history, no, because of something... else.

He was agile, and quick. Realizing some sense of urgency he rushed towards the old navy light tower. In his earlier days, Spook was quite interested in naval combat. He learned that sometimes marines send encrypted messages, known as morse code, to each other. Those morse codes would depict some kind of movement about the enemy, usually they had people who were experts in these things. Thus he stood at the top of the lightning house. The light flickering as it made a circle, he knocked once and then kicked the door in.

'You're not running away from me,'

Spook said as he made intense eye contact with the old man sitting behind the desk at the top of the lighthouse. He was old, wrinkled. He worse glasses. The warm humid weather, and being so close to the sea made the room warm. The man was sweating,

'I had no intentions of running, my legs couldn't if I wanted to'

Spook gave a smirk and approached the man.

'You're a navy decrypter, yes? Or rather, ex-navy?'

'You seem quite informed, what do you want from me?'

He asked, with his eyebrow raised in an arch. Spook reached into his pocket, he didn't reach in too fast to not caution the old man. Spook threw the book on his desk, the man grabbing it. He coughed because of the dust that still was on it.

'I know what this is...'

He said, building up suspense.

'I'm afraid you're over your head, though.'

Spook raised his brow as well.
