TODAY'S TOP NEWS!!
BRINGING DOWN THE HAMMER
The Navy has begun its retaliation in regards to the up and coming pirate threat now sweeping the blues. With some bigger names having left the blues recently it has created opportunity for many others to fill their boots so to speak and this in turn invited chaos as many pirates hurried to take their places. The navy however was ready to counteract this and has sent dozens of naval ships to the blues to keep the peace during these rough times. Soon if not already happening you will start seeing many more navy ships patrolling the waters, but dont worry folks! This doesn't mean there is an immediate threat, in fact these marines are here to prevent any trouble with just their presence and sheer numbers.
ROGUE FACTIONS
The four blues have been seeing increasing activity the over the last couple months but not all of it can be attributed to piracy. They has been a surprising amount of 'mercenary' activity so to speak. This unaffiliated groups have been both terrorizing and helping the community and beginning to build up. This strange occurrence of all the Free Agent types gathering here will likely lead to a mass recruitment campaign by each faction. Where these Free Agents loyalty truly lies has yet to be determined but we will likely find out soon.
WINGS OF THE REVOLUTION
The Revolutionaries lost none of its power with the more recent Marine military investment... Quite the opposite, their presence seems stronger than ever! With the addition of countless new rookies taking up Revolutionary colors, two criminals stand out above all others. Any relationship between these two individuals remains a mystery, but they share the odd trait of posessing wings, which should make them easily identifiable for any bounty hunter...
First and most dangerous of these two is Captain Reinaka Sciwalker, former bounty hunter who has since crossed over to the side of the criminals she used to hunt. Don't be fooled by her good looks, this woman is a master martial artist said to be able to incapacitate enemies twice her size with little more than a poke. In the short time she has been a revolutionary, she drew the ire of the Noble families of Lynveel, displaying a gross disrespect of even the purest forms of authority.
The other one, with a lower bounty but no less dangerous, is Revolutionary Captain Frank Lucas. An enemy of all things orderly, this man is known for killing Marines without provocation, depriving innocent people of their lawful protectors. It seems he has recently acquired a very powerful devil fruit, and has been charring his mark in the land ever since.
ROOKIE OF THE MONTH
The pirate rookie of April is Nicholas 'Flashdance' Edison! As tradition, capturing this pirate and turning him into the government within the next month will reward the individual with 10,000,000 (bonus)beli, and instantly become a serious contended for the position of Shichibukai, should the captor be a pirate. However, this edition comes with special circumstances: Due to the tight bond between this individual, the runner up, and last edition's criminal - Melissa Devaroux and Naga D. Linnea respectively - fighting him without incurring the wrath of the two women is next to impossible. Due to these special circumstances, bringing in Naga or Devaroux alongside Flashdance will net the bounty hunter an additional 10,000,000 Beli, for a grand total of 20,000,000 Bonus Beli!
One should be alerted and should act on caution before attacking these Pirates: Flashdance is a crafty man using strange, shell shaped hidden weapons allowing him to channel a wide variety of elements. His closest allies are nothing to scoff at either. Naga is a cold blooded killer using a long ranged weapon with deadly accuracy; while Deveroux is more monster than human, boasting freakish physical strength, able to split battleships in half with a single punch! If that weren't enough, both of them posess powerful Devil Fruits. Possible bounty hunters ought to be careful - and come dressed for cold - both of them are pirates worth their bounty. A list of their crimes can be requested at the official marine headquarters found at Ennies Lobby.
THE HEROES OF JUSTICE
One might feel threatened with all these Pirates and Revolutionaries going about their dreadful crimes of anarchy and selfish destruction, but law abiding citizens need not fear, for some are still willing to stand proud in the name of Justice and all that is righteous. But in the wake of recent events, one has stood out among his peers: A paragon of hard work and moral justice, Commodore Anton LaCroix has proved time and time again to be worthy of this title and the mantle of responsibility that comes with it. Aside from his upstanding morals and wide ranging talents, he is mostly known for his skill with sword and Devil Fruit, tempering it with the finery and politeness of a gentleman.
At a time of crisis in the West Blue, the atrocious Pirate Melissa Devaroux wreaked havoc unimpeded, killing innocents and destroying whatever she came across, people and property alike. When things looked their direst, the Heroic Commodore Lacroix succeeded where his peers had failed, holding the line against the seemingly unstoppable Devaroux and successfully chasing her off, away from the West Blue for good. Though none were able to arrest her, her rampage was stopped. In the aftermath of the attack, Lacroix wasted no time in taking action, placing the previous Commander under arrest for his gross incompetence and failure at protecting the West Blue against the Pirate menace.
Not as well known but no less upstanding in their quest for justice, Captain Steele and Commodore Zeppelin are other names we shall keep an eye on. What other heroic deeds will these three Marines be known for the future...? Only time will tell.
OPERATION GRAND DAM
Facing the ever increasing Pirate threat, the Marines were forced to take a drastic action, enacting a radical plan few believed would ever work: Blockading the Entrance to the Grand Line. According to Marine Officers, they believed such a measure would prevent the Pirates from entering the Grand Line and looking for One Piece (the great, fabled treasure at the end of the new world), and in time, piracy would die down.
Though at first it seemed successful, it brought with it unexpected consequences...
Breaching the blockade proved impossible, and after many pirates tried and failed, they instead turned to rampage on their home blues with relative impunity. With the Marine forces concentrated on the Red Line, they have so far been ineffective at quelling the pillaging and uprising.
This is outrageous! The Pirates were out of control before but this new Blockade has made them even more vicious! If that weren't enough, the Marine Coast Guards make it hard for anyone to set sail close to the Grand Line!! How are fishermen like me supposed to make a living?!

Though the number of Pirates in the early portions of Paradise has indeed lowered, public opinion of the Marines and the World Government plummeted alongside it in the Four Blues. When questioned on what were they doing to handle this crisis, this was the answer:
We are dealing with it. Until we do, law abiding citizens should stick to their homes and avoid sailing. We apologize for the inconvenience and assure you we're doing out our best to supress Piracy in the Four Blues

But will the Marines have enough manpower, even as Piracy reports keep increasing? We can only hope they will, for all of our sakes...
