Melissa's words at the ship had been a game changer. She could no longer take the luxury of having one of her closest friends devoid of Haki abilities. She had to do her best and try to teach her with what she already knew. This wouldn't be nearly as easy as it was with Locke who had awakened her Haki before meeting Linnea... No, Melissa had no Haki to speak of, but Linnea was determined to awaken it. She had spoken about an opponent who could somehow strike even her snow body, much like Linnea herself could. She did not, however, mention any devil fruit that guy might posess, so Busoshoku Haki was the only other power she knew of capable of such a feat... The Solution for such a problem was simple: Help Melissa master her own Haki. From then on, it was completely up to her to surpass her nemesis. It was with such a project in mind that Linnea called her snowy friend for a little workout.

Besides, what would they have to do in the Island of Justice? Nobody complained about stopping on this little islet offshore Ennies Lobby; it didn't seem to interfere with the Log Pose and once they reached Ennies Lobby they would no longer have time off like this. Linnea was still determined to cause as much trouble here as possible, but doing so without even having their Log Pose and ship ready was just plain idiotic, and she didn't survive this far by being stupid and reckless. That's how so many pirates meet their doom after all... She had recolored her Ranger's dress white ever since arriving on Ennies Lobby, as if hoping she might get by mostly unnoticed with Marine styled colors.

"Here should be good...", she thought out loud, arriving at a discreet corner of the beach, surrounded by cliffs and reefs on all sides, turning back the way she came to see if Melissa was too far behind her. She had yet to tell her friend what she planned on training with her, but she made sure to bring along all the necessary equipment, namely a blindfold to teach her Observation Haki

The sky was dark and cloudy and it looked like it might rain soon... But since both girls were Ice elementals, the rain shouldn't really bother either of them...

Haki Training
The young females words would hopefully make those on board the ship aware, this is not the blues, this is the grandline. The way they acted, the way they were superior, none of that mattered here. None of that would be taken in to concideration. They were nothing but amateurs, or even worse, they were noobs. The entire crew including herself and Naga had no capabilities, no understanding of the grand line, regardless what books and information they had been given. The phenomenons that they would see here, the ever changing weather, the way the seas changed instantly. They would have to see it all, learn it for themselves and combat it on their own terms. This was the grand line. This was what they had to face. Melissa for one, was not sure she was ready. Thankfully for her, Naga had agreed to train her, to teach her the secret to the ability to strike those of her own nature. She needed to be able to hit her targets, otherwise her own strength was useless.

The land of justice was in the distance, far enough away that only the shadow could be seen. Yet Melissa felt strange, the sea was pulling them towards it. With the ship being docked, this meant it wouldn't be pulled away. She couldn't get over the fact that they were pretty much marching to the death. Her stomach churned a little. Shehad been feeling ill for a few days now, though she would push this from her mind. Melissa could bare no distractions. She would fight at 100%. If she died, hey well at least she was going to take a ton of those bastards with her. She hated the Log pose though, the fucking thing had led them to destruction. "Just don't do anything stupid" Melissa would say to herself as she walked from the ship. She would need to meet Linnea.

Melissa wore the beige attire, she needed knew clothes, the marine outfit from Yotsuba had taken damage, she was hoping to repair it because well, they may need it now more than ever.It actually worked out well that she had attained it. Her beige top allowed her arms to be seen. Or it would have if not coupled with the white shirt, her pencil skirt was cut down the side to allow for movement, and her boots were sturdy enough to give her good grip. She looked incredibly smart and normal, one wouldnt be able to tell she was one of the strongest warriors from the blue. Brushing the hair from her face, she would have two large bunches on either side, amazing how she had them symmetrical so they did not look stupid. Her sea blue eyes shone. "It's going to rain" she uttered as she walked

Finally getting to the destination, Melissa would wave. "So this is it, our final training ground right?" she would say, her tone was joking, yet the underlying quiver would give away her nerves. Enies Lobby, there was like a 1% chance that Naga and her would survive. That did not bode well for the lesser known and weaker members of the crew.'

The trainee was a couple of meters back, and the trainer didn't have to wait much for her to finally arrive. Linnea waved back with a sweet smile; all and all she looked ready for training. The Amazon found this was a distinction far easier to take note of when spending time with people not from Amazon Lily: Her own outfit was chosen as one always ready for action, that's what it meant to have been raised in a warrior culture. Not only that, she had been born in the Grand Line, and had a better idea of how difficult this journey might be than the others. But even her couldn't predict how they'd would end up on Ennies Lobby right off the bat. One look at Melissa's face was enough to show she didn't either. Their ship rocked back and forth under the waves, but it would stay there until they were ready for the next part:

The snow girl was worried... Scared even... It was understandible, they were getting ready to climb onto the maw of the great beast that rules these waters with an iron fist under a banner of justice. The slightest misstep would result in all of them being swallowed whole. After her initial concern, Linnea had now completely shed her fright and unease of the Grand Stage to come, and stood before Melissa calm and completely unafraid. Fear is essential to survive, but it should never cloud one's judgement or determination to do what they must. She looked up into the sky, as if to confirm what Melissa first said. She was right, the clouds were getting thicker by the minute. But her next words had her raise a soft, quizzical eyebrow as she rested one hand on her hip, pulling off her bow and quiver and setting them down:

"Final...? This is only the beginning.", Linnea chuckled with a soft, reassuring smile, easing the seemingly troubling words. The Kuja ranger was obviously in her element; her next words were spoken with the confidence that one might expect of someone who had studied the very same subject since she was old enough to understand it, "The power you spoke of is called Haki. Every living creature in this world posesses such a dormant power, though very few ever manage to awaken it. Fighting spirit, presence, insight... Whatever other names you might have for it, the way to achieve it never changes: Resolve, and a complete absence of doubt."

Her tone strongly underlined her final words as her steely blue eyes started into Melissa's resolutely. She would have to reach the same state, conquer her doubt and press forth with nerves of steel. She closed her eyes with a calm, confident smile, as she prepared to move on to the practical lesson, to demonstrate the only two types of Haki she could actually use:

"I'll show you...", she spoke, her eyes still closed. She couldn't see anything beyond what her Observation Haki showed her, and this would tell Melissa what she'd be doing once she learned it: Starting her training, Linnea took her stance and gestured her friend to come at her, "...Shall we begin...? See if you can land a hit on me."

Linneas tone would help to soothe Melissa, the way she spoke, the warmth of her tone filled Melissa with a new sense of understanding and relief. They were the strongest two of the generation, if they could not do this then who could right? Together the duo of snow and ice would have make sure not a single crew member were to fall. Melissa would tame her fear, use it to fuel her own power, her own understanding. Her physical power was unsurpassed in the blues, here she was one of many whom had super human strength ,yet her nimble fram would cause many to over look this fact. Her Yuki Yuki power was believed to be her strongest factor, this was far from the truth. The monstrous power held in her arms, her tiny fists was what would push her through, that is what she would be seen for in the grandline.

"I guess your right, we can't go down so easily and let all the boys have the fun right?" She would say gently, the traces of fear in her voice no longer lingered. In response to her friends own smile, Melissa's would follow, the clouds began to circle from above and the first few spits of rain began....only to clear up. In mere seconds the sun would be shining. The drastic change of the grandline. "Thats not something you see every day" the snow girl would reply averting her eyes from the sun, her eyes would flow once more to Naga, as the ranger began to speak, talking about the energy she utilized. Though it was known by different names Haki seemed to be its first. "Is that the power Rei uses? Is it similar to her Chi bending?" Melissa would ask, obviously most of the information being new to her.

Now when Naga asked her to come for her, Melissa would look shocked. The two had never had a one on one and in honesty Melissa had never fully revealed the extent of her physical capabilities. She would begin to worry, until she recalled something. Naga's power was superior, Snow was not as strong as Ice. Melissa understood this even when helping her gain the power. She had a logia, that Melissa could not hit. Physically if Melissa landed a blow upon her, she would be fine. Nodding to herself as if she had made up her mind. She would take her stance. Eyes determined, looking at her friend. Though instead she chose to go straight forward, Her speed was superior in terms of actual movement, though she would not utilize her full force. She was in uncharted territories and Melissa wasn't the type to just rush in like some crazy person. Thus she would clear the distance quickly, her eyes locked on to the female. She got close enough, and her right hand moved forward, the punch was slower than what she could normally do but it was thrown out experimentally. She assumed the female would dodge it, that is why she would begin to release a flurry of them, same speed with a gentle fluidity to them.'

She smiled happily at the girl's answer, glad to see Melissa back in her usual mood; those playful words that made Melissa so much fun to be around, and it hurt to see her overwhelmed with worry like that... Linnea pulled on her hood when she felt the rain start dripping down her hair and face. However, this minimal rain only lasted for a few moments, as a fresh reminder of where she was right now: The Grand Line. Linnea wound up keeping her hood up, even if she had her eyes closed and didn't need to shield them, "The powers are most likely related, but they're entirely different things..."

Keeping her stance steady, Lin awaited for Melly to launch her attack. The girl was a martial artist and obviously the superior fighter when it came to close combat, and this was exactly why Linnea chose to display her Observation Haki like this. Any other way and she would likely lose. From that point on she kept her eyes closed. She saw everything: The way Melissa came at her, the way she readied a right punch, calmly uttering her prediction to show Melissa just how far she could see, "Right punch...". Linnea effortlessly dodged the attack, something that should be impossible given her eyes closed and Melissa's speed, as she did with the following ones, shifting her torso around out of the way of each attack, flowing around Melissa's punches like a leaf in the wind, "This is Kenbunshoku Haki... The power to feel your foe's aura.", she explained dodging one more punch, "If you train it, you can pick up on invisible enemies, how many there are; Even how they will move next."

The archer resumed her stable, almost immovable stance, finally opening her eyes and looking at Melissa, silently urging her to keep attacking...

If any strangers were watching, It may look as though the two killer females were engaged in some warrior dance, the way the school teacher like warrior struck her fists in such beautiful motions. The way the white ranger commanded her body to avoid in such elegant and beautiful ways. Melissa though was getting slightly frustrated, sure she could ram up her speed and hope for the best, but Linnea was stating her assaults before she had even released them. Speed may help but it would have to be a lucky shot. Her hand struck air once more, the final punch not being able to find its target. A slight burst of anger seemed to erupt from the body of the female, wind shot forth in a circular manner, yet nothing would happen. Naga held the superior haki abilities, yet the unleashing of the Haoshoku haki would be a tremendous discover. Alas Melissa would not know of it. Nor would she allow her friend a chance to explain. So Melissa was capable of learning this power right? Then lets have at it, she would think to herself as she moved forth. Now that she had seen the technique, she understood something about it. The weakness of it.

Melissa would indeed continue to strike, wondering if having her eyes open meant Linnea would still be using the sensory like capabilities in which she had show great proficiency in. Melissa hoped so, or any hope of avoiding the flurry of fists would be lost. If this were the case, If her ranger friend were to continue avoiding her assaults, then this would drive Melissa's next series of actions. Yet she recalled her own incapabailties when she first held the power of a logia fruit. Previously during an event with Rei and Linnea herself, Melissa had shown the capabilites of destroying a ship with a ranged strike. One that she had previously used to crush an opponent. It indeed was a deadly technique, one that she thought about using in this situation. What was wrong with her? she was really willing to go so far as to possibly kill her friend, simply to show her own capabilities. How pitiful.

These thoughts would happen in a mere instance, her plan of attack changing completely. Upon the final [around fifth] punch failing, Melissa would jump backwards, her body low. Her eyes closed. So if she were capable, then....all she saw was darkness. Wait...a flicker,  a gentle flicker of light stood within her mind. Her hands moved towards the light though Naga was well out of range of her physical powers. Yet the sudden burst of power would reveal her next move. Two hands, much larger than Melissa's own would erupt from the flurry of snow that escaped Melissa's hands. The flurry formed in to the orbs that the hands were attached too. Melissa darent open her eyes. She willed her hands to extend, aiming to strike the ranger while she herself kept the flickering light, the flickering silhoutte of the female in her head. Slowly she opened her eyes, the light remained. She could see, yet she had some form of seventh sense. It was fuzzy and slightly unclear. Was this Haki?

As she wondered she watched her large hands attempt to close around the Hie Hie No Mi. Knowing that her snow hands could not really hurt the ice woman, only incapacitate her for the time being, Or would the female have another trick up her sleeve?.'

Unlike all of the dodging she'd done so far, that display was completely unexpected, and had Linnea looking on wide eyed and sweating... Linnea was thankful for her strong will and calm demeanor, but even with it she couldn't hide her astonishment. Melly had Haoshoku Haki... The same power as the Queen of Amazon Lily, the power of Kings. Her inability to summon forth this power was one of the main reasons why Linnea never believed herself to be capable of leading anyone. Many tried to assure her otherwise, Including Concetta who at several points had stated she would follow her if she made a crew, back when they were kids on Amazon Lily. But now Melissa displayed it... She had half a mind to let her lead the crew if she ever developed her Haki to the same point as Linnea did, but for that she had to groom her for the part, and this meant being the best teacher she possibly could.

So she kept dodging her attacks - not yet commenting on her use of the third Haki color and choosing for last - staying completely focused on the task at hand. Melissa backed off, brewing up snow around her. Her impatience was palpable, she was physically a lot stronger than Linnea and a lot more used to her devil fruit, and she was in her own element, unlike Linnea who prefer to be away from her foes instead of up close and personal.

"Next up... Busoshoku Haki.", Linnea calmly explained, stretching both arms our and coating them with jet black Armament "The power to harden your own body into armor."

Before the two snow hands could close on her, she would suddenly thrust both her fists out with a hardened punch, which should strike through her snow and hurt Melly as if she were tangible, given how they still seemed to be connected to her body. This should also teach her to be careful with transforming into her element and increasing the size of her body against a more experienced Haki user:

"Of course a hard enough armor can also be used to attack.", she explained, dashing and closing in on Melly. Hoping to teach her the limits of Kenbunshoku Haki, she woudln't commit to a single attack until she got closer, "It can also strike through even intangible bodies of Logia users like us."

Regardless, it would soon be time to teach her about the Haoshoku Haki she just displayed...

Here I Come
The gentle snow would make no noise, even as it formed, thus allowing Linnea's words to teach Melissa's ears. Her vision was not fully hindred, thus being able to witness the transformation of the arms. The black armour like material stunned Melissa, yet her movements would follow through. This haki was interesting and in deed powerful. It allowed her logia body to be struck. It allowed her opponents to dodge attacks. Essentially it was designed to halt all of Melissa's abilities. Yet it would seem it would be Linnea whom would be on the receiving end of this lesson. Perhaps due to the fact it was a training exercise, perhaps she allowed her guard to slip, or was there a slight chance she relied to heavily upon her own Haki abilities and forgot that it really came down to her own. Melissa's arms were powerful, conjured snow, compacted together. It had amazing strength, trying to meet that a punch of her own was slightly foolish. If Melissa had not intended on capturing her opponent. The ranger would have indeed broke her arms. The armour may be powerful but it did not mean it was undefeatable, a technique like this would have been enough to easily break the arms of the ranger.

Thankfully for Naga's sake, Melissa had only intended to capture her, the arms spread open, palms at the ready, The massive hands would receive strikes to them. Yet the Haki wouldn't even break through them. Instead, the right hand would close around the slender body of the female, halting her movements while the left hand wrapped around the right hand, fully blocking off the females ability to struggle. With Melissa's own strength, her own skills abilities, she knew how they worked. Naga had been confused for sure, she may have believed her hands were actually attached to the larger ones. This was not the case. The little orbs of snow were what they were attached to. In that case if Naga had intended to halt Melissa with her own hands. Well that would have been even sillier, Melissa was far superior in terms of her own strength. She was a close range fighter. Holding Naga Melissa would frown. "You might rely a little bit to much on that power of yours. I can tell you now, there is no way that armour could stand up to my physical capabilities. If this had been my own fist, your arms would have shattered" Melissa would state, her voice showing how strongly she felt about this.

This was also a good lesson for her. Upon activating the black armour she would have to gauge her opponents own physical ability make sure that the augmentation would benefit her and not allow herself to get over her head. A click of her fingers would release her own technique. The hands drifting into small droplets of snow. She was kind of proud of herself, overcoming haki like that. Alas she was no fool, she had to make sure the rumours were true. She would walk up to Naga, a smile upon her face. "So that thing, thats the thing that can strike me in my elemental form, the black armour? Show me. Hit me" Melissa would say, her face showing how serious she was. She could take a hit, she had been struck, she had been almost killed by the gorilla, but he hadn't used the augmentation....or had he. The battle was so blurry, she had been knocked around like a ragdoll that the black armour still seemed strange to her. Obviously she had to make sure. she had to be one hundred and fifty percent sure that it could hurt her. She was not going to be as free as in the blues. If enemies held this power, she couldn't rely on her logias capabilities. "Is it just the body, or can it be used on weapons?" she asked

Why...? Why didn't she flinch? Of course... A prompt examination with her Kenbunshoku Haki would indeed confirm the big hands weren't an extension of Melissa's own, so she couldn't really hurt her. A woman who abhored being restrained above all else, a rather cute, surprised yelp was immediately replaced by a menacing scowl as the full contact between her body and the snow constructs would make it easy for her to start freezing them. If she were a Marine Lin could very well have died from this but in the end that mattered very little once the mistake had been made. But then there was no need to do so as Melissa soon undid the technique, intent on stopping the fight, leaving the embarassed teacher to deal with the aftermath of her failed lesson:

"There's a reason why I don't use this In melee combat... Or do melee combat at all...", Linnea admitted shamefully, tugging on her hood and looking away from her beautiful companion yet still punching her arm with a Haki imbued punch. More of a friendly, frustrated nudge than an actual punch, but more than enough to get her point across. She knew how to fight of course, but she'd much rather keep her foes away and rely on her aim than be forced to rely on physical strength...

It was a grim reminder of why she didn't fit in at Amazon Lily, and reiterated her resolve to do her best from afar. Linnea was left annoyed for her inability to do anything against Melly's attack - even if she acknowledged she was fighting the girl in her home turf - but in a way she was glad to have verified this when going up against an ally instead of Marine officer who would kill her for even attempting it... That said, the lesson was far from over, even after that little punch to show her how the attack could still hurt her real body "beneath" her Snow form. And that wasn't all of it, "Indeed it can.", she confirmed with a nod, "I use it on my arrows all the time."

Of course, this wasn't even the most important part, the final part of the lesson and the one Haki color Linnea could not use: "...But aside from those two, there's also a third type. Haoshoku Haki, also known as the Power of Kings. Do you remember when I was showing you Kenbunshoku, and you were angry you couldn't strike me?"

Linnea would fold her arms beneath her breasts and cock her head slightly, her piercing steel blue eyes firmly locked onto Melissa's, gauging her reaction. If she remembered the feeling of using that ability herself, it would make up for Linnea's own inability to demonstrate it.

Here I Come
She would feign injury as the woman punched her arm. "Owchie" she said, though mocking the girl, it was proof though that the black armour could touch her .Melissa stood smiling next to her friend. "Then again, I'v seen you with a bow, long range isn't my fortei, and if this armour can extend to weapons, I need to be even more prepared to face off against ranged foes" Melissa would say. So Melissa's intangibility had only been useful during the blues, she would need to figure out away to accommodate this. Perhaps this aura could be utilized to negate other wielders of the power. Though that was advanced stuff, Melissa barely grasped the basics of such a power.
.
"The power of kings? surely in the hands of people like us its the power of queens right Naga" Melissa would say jokingly. Though her focus right now was only partial, she would continue to look at her hands, the black armour had yet to show itself upon her, though she could see, no she could feel it. Feel it resonating within her. Such a power was needed, if she were to be weaker, if she were to not have an arsenal of power, then how could she protect her friends? How could she stand up to those whom threatened her or those she cared about. Hell how could she have a little fun? If she were too weak to do anything.

"So this power, it resonated when i was angry, but honestly, I don't know how I achieved that, i just got a little annoyed that I couldn't strike you. Maybe thats something I'm going to have to work on, Though if i'm right it's coming up to shark week, who knows maybe then I'll be unable to control it, if ya know what i mean" she would say winking to her friend. Melissa Devaroux every body, she had no inhibitions, she was a free spirit who really said whatever she wanted, even talking about her period enhancing her rage. As she sighed she would look to her hands once more. "But I can't seem to OH" she would stutter out, her white petite hand [the right one] seemed to blacken, The feeling in her gut, the knot she felt had come loose, flowing through her body and in to her hand. "Your the only person I'v known to properly wield this power in the blues, other than the gorrilla dude, but he learnt this in the grandline. Does that mean your originally from here?" Melissa would ask while inspecting her hand. she asked

As playful as she was, Melissa understood what Buso Haki could do from that simple nudge, and also the threat Haki imbued projectiles would pose from here on out. Indeed, she likely had trouble dealing with long ranged fighters, Lin speculated as much from watching her flashy fighting style that drew all eyes on the battlefield right towards her. She then commented how in their case Haoshoku would be the power of Queens and the archer chuckled:

"I guess you can say that... But for a Kuja, there will always be only one Queen.", Linnea pointed out, fully aware that Amazon culture didn't apply to Melissa even if she was sure the girl would feel at home there. She would smile at the girl, imagining what she might look like if she'd been born and raised as a Kuja. Her freakish strength wouldn't change, that much was true; but with that Haki and that beauty, she could have been next in line for Queen, "Indeed... I was born on Amazon Lily, in the Calm Belt.", Linnea answered as a nostalgic look drew on her face.

Indeed, Melissa would be a popular girl there, that much was certain. She wouldn't have been pushed around and bullied like young Linnea was before she finally grew strong enough to assert herself (Picking on the meek kid is easy, but once that same child learns to pick you off from a mile away, the game changes). Plus, Melly would probably wear even less clothes if she lived there long enough: Kuja tend to prefer to dress as light as possible to preserve mobility... Linnea was one of the more modest of the Amazons, Melissa would likely wear as little there as some of her fellow Kuja did, "You should come with me, when I head back there.", she finally suggested with an adveturous look. It wouldn't be anything new for Lin herself, but it would be interesting to see how would her crew react. Well, the female members anyway, men weren't allowed on Amazon Lily.

But then Linnea remembered something else she'd been meaning to ask her raven haired friend... The girl kept playing around with her Haki imbued hand, and Lin suddenly blushed awkwardly, even fidgeting slightly as she cocked her head down... Lin finally struggled to meet Melissa's gaze, turning her eyes upwards and staring into her as she asked the one question that had been bothering since they entered the Grand Line, "Hey, M-melissa...", she asked soft, "Will you b-be my first mate...?"

Such an important question was enough to bring out the full extent of Lin's demure behavior which she so often tried to hide when speaking to her crew... She had done her best to mature into a strong, reliable Captain, but she couldn't just change overnight. If Melissa agreed to stay by her side, it didn't feel so overwhelming anymore... But the bond between a Captain and First mate was a strong, deep running one, hence why it felt so important to her.

Here I Come

"Sounds like a nice place, though amazons don't like men? I could never survive without a good D every now and again" Melissa would say as she threw her hair from her shoulder, her twinkling laugh echoed through out the land as the rain erupted downwards. SO suddenly, such was the grand lines weather. Yet the cold rain would not bother the girls of snow or ice. They could get saturated, but the cold would hold no effect over them. It was a nice after effect, though she did miss the ability to dive in to the swimming pool and not you know. Drown or get so weak that she could do fuck all. That was a tad annoying.

As Melissa watched Naga's face, she herself would offer a smile, why? no idea but the nostalgic look hit her hard, Melissa could not help but think about the people she had left over in the blues. Coniko....what had happened to him, Leonidas..had he found his path? and Leparo and the crew...what would they think of her, how would they feel about her, had they got her letter?. So many things ran through her head, yet she would have to pull herself back in to reality.  Naga's voice would pull her in. "It sounds like it would be fun. I'd like to test my strength against some of the close range amazons." The female would say, a twinkling in her eyes.

The atmposphere changed, the posture, the way she held herself and, was she fidgetting? Melissa had never seen this side of Naga before, exactly what could have brought on such a change. "Are you ok?" Melissa would ask just prior to the question revealing itself.  To say she was shocked was an understatement, in terms of the crew, Melissa was the newest member or at least thats what she had thought. She had not expected to be asked such a question. Her shock and surprise would be evident upon her face. Possibly her face would go even redder than Naga's own, she felt slightly embarrassed. In terms of Leparo she had been his second in command, his first mate. but she always believed it was because she was his as did many of the crew. Such a relationship came with drama like this, no matter how she proved herself she was always viewed as Leps girl...it had been one of the reasons she had left. Now here she was being asked to be a second once more, this time though. She was no ones, she was herself. She had proven herself in the eyes of Naga.

Perhaps she had not realized how much she had needed the approval of others, She realized in this moment that how others see her, was important to her. She wanted to be strong in her own rights while surrounded by friends and warriors. She didn't want to be viewed as a threat because she was someone elses girl, because she had protection from a noble or shit like that. She wanted to be known as Melissa Devaroux. This was the first step in the right direction. Perhaps it hit her harder than it should have, to the point were a few tears would mingle from the rain. Though the downpour would hopefully hide such an embarrassing moment. Collecting her thoughts, her mind and body the Yuki Yuki No Mi User would smile wider."I'd be honoured" Melissa would say before throwing her hands around the archer in a loving embrace.

"D...? What do you mean...? My middle Initial...?!", she rambled on, astounded, her confused look finally growing completely flabbergasted as if Melissa had somehow delved into one of the great mysteries in Linnea's life. But then, the real meaning to her friend's words finally hit her, and she blushed profusely, raising one hand over her mouth, "...Oh...! You mean THAT D... So perverted, Melly-san..."

Linnea was rather sensitive to awkwardness with all of her blushing shyness, and often considered herself fortunate that nudity (at least female nudity) was nothing out of the ordinary, or else she'd just have yet one more weakness to deal with. The next moment was probably one of the most awkward she'd experienced ever since stepping out of Amazon Lily, second only to that time with Alice. Now that she thought about it, she had also met Melissa on the exact same island...

She looked at the raven haired fighter with an flustered, antsy but mostly expectant, almost pleading eyes. Would she say yes...? She could only hope so... With Concetta being in current state, she was in no shape to fulfil the role they always agreed she would. Indeed Linnea had created this crew out of a childhood promise to her best friend, to sail the seas together on their own terms. And among all of her trusty companions, Melly was by far the one she relied on the most. Even before she even imagined she'd form a crew anytime soon, the two of them had already been working together. It wasn't more than a few moments between her question and her answer, but to the shy ranger, it felt like Eons...

But then she said yes! Linnea wasn't the type to jump up and down excitedly, but even then her face lit up like a christmas tree, smiling widely and brimming joyfully. Embarassment and awkwardness completely vanished from her face, "I'm so glad! We're gonna...!", but then only for a brief moment. When Melissa suddenly hugged her, Linnea let out a cute yelp and blushed once more at the sudden contact, but then slowly eased into it, resting her arms around her, holding the girl close enough to feel her beating heart. She wasn't the kind of woman to enjoy physical contact, Concetta, Mea and Alice being one of the few exceptions. But they were her best friend, adopted sister, and first lover respectively.

Lin finally pulled her head away to take a long, affectionate look at her face, lingering on her crystalline eyes for a split second before bashfully turning away when their gazes met. The beauty of a Goddess... The strength of a giant... Melissa was undoubtedly the visage of many Kuja heronies of old, and it would be this woman who would be by her side, to support her if her own will ever faltered. She was proud to call Melly her friend.

"Nee~ Melly...", she asked softly, turning her gaze upwards and pulling her hood back up... The rain was getting worse now, and judgding by the clouds it could get even worse, "We should get out of here, huh...?"
