These Marine outfits were useful.... So very, very useful... Up until now Linnea had yet to find a single Marine who was suspicious of her for too long, even if they had never seen her before. Being a new recruit was a good enough excuse after all, it explained why she had arrived with the sea train and why she didn't know anybody at the island. It was almost impossible, but in the end most Marines were completely self assured of Ennies Lobby being "uninvadable", not because the island itself was impossible to reach, but beacuse it had no strategic value and was incredibly well defended. What manner of Pirates would dare to attack it?! Regardless, Linnea actually went as far as making a few friends during one of her patrols, and even if she was undercover, she figured their RnR moments were a perfect opportunity to acquire some more information.
Not having a proper place to leave her weapons while she went drinking with a few other Marine acquaintances, Linnea simply left her bow and arrows stashed inside a barrel next to the bar, memorizing its location and further keeping an eye on it with her Haki. Even then, she was far from unarmed: She had yet to show either her devil fruit or her Haki abilities, and if everything went as planned she wouldn't have to. Before long, she had shared quite a few shots with the other off duty Marines, doing her best impression of an off duty Marine: "So, Hugnkiss, tell us about yourself!!", asked one of the marines in between one of the many drinks, sliding an arm around her shoulders and getting so close she could smell the booze off his mouth. SHe wasn't a perfect example either way, but her schoolgirl like shyness seemingly had a charming way among her "fellow" marines,
One thing was certain, if anybody ever got suspicious of this girl ever being a famed and feared pirate, all suspicions vanished the moment they saw her demeanor first hand. No way a pirate - let alone a Captain - could be this shy and bashful right?
"Uhm, there's nothing to know about, really...", she commented, tugging on her Marine cap and looking away from the marine, blushing red from the mixture of alcohol and shyness, "I was born on a poor north blue island, and there wasn't much work to do there other than joining the Marines... I was really good with a bow, so they allowed me to use that weapon..."
Even though she was drunk, Lin was still paying attention to her surroundings with her Haki. And thats what she would do so long as she stayed here...
