The travel from Illusia to Ohara had taken far longer than Edritch ever thought it would; but then again, this was his first time outside of his country of birth. Though he'd been on numerous contracts, he'd never strayed from the borders of Illusia. Yet, where one would probably feel panic or intimidation, Eldritch could only feel what he could describe as excitement.
Eldritch had never been a person that exactly went out of his way to socialize, except when he was purposefully attempting to dupe information out of someone; however, in this case the young man found himself wanting to converse with as many people as possible in this new place known as Ohara. This "conversing" with some of the citizens of Ohara allowed Eldritch to learn about a nearby forge that allowed those with the know-how to use it - for a fee, of course. With the desire to prepare himself for the challenges he'd likely face later on, Eldritch felt as though paying this forge a visit and upgrading his equipment would something that would be in his best interests. After all, He'd only recently taken up the art of smithing in order to supplement his craft of marksmanship. If he didn't practice in this craft and learn how to adequately create weapons and equipment that could help him, he'd be better off forgoing the craft completely.
Once he paid for his time to use the smithy, Eldritch finally made his way back to the forge and began to wait while it heated up. While waiting, Eldritch began to carefully dissemble his rifle, "Sorrow". Though his intention today was to recreate it into another firearm entirely, he still wanted to use the raw material provided from the rifle to serve as the basis for the new one. Carefully, Eldritch made sure that his disassembly of the rifle didn't damage the materials at all in any way whatsoever.
Once this was completed, Eldritch began to fashion the wood salvaged from the disassembled rifle into the body of his new rifle. This process involved more carpentry work than Eldritch was accustomed to, but once the task was finished, Eldritch found himself proud of the work he'd been able to accomplish. With the body of the gun completed, Eldritch began his metalwork - crafting the barrel of the gun, the springs, and other components that he'd need in order to finish crafting the newly reworked rifle.
Hours began to pass by faster than Eldritch had noticed, yet, he found himself completely immersed in the work he was currently doing. Even though this hadn't been his first time attempting to create a new weapon, it was indeed the first time he'd been able to create something so impressive. Being able to bring his ideas to fruition in such a way was something that felt extremely addictive. There were so many ideas that he had as far as his abilities to create these weapons went, he knew that if he continued with his training in this art of gunsmithing he'd be able to make weapons that would soon completely outclass this one.
