“Lone wolf, huh?”
She mumbled. Her eyes switched back to what was in front of her as she thought about it. Marcel did look like the sort of person that liked being alone. He did try to leave her and he would have succeeded if not for her pushy nature. Perhaps he just had an antisocial vibe about him that everyone but her could sense. That or they had him confused with somebody else. Either one was better than pirate or marauder and since he gave her no reason to believe he was that sort of person, she was inclined to believe he just gave off a ‘do not bother me’ air.
Confident that she wasn’t conversing with someone affiliated with one of the two things she hated the most, she dropped the subject completely. Though, she had been so engrossed in her own thoughts that she had missed the marines approaching them. She looked to her side, surprised that Marcel was not at her side. She spun on her heel, spotted her companion just standing there, and was ready to urge him to follow her. That’s, until she saw the marines.
She quickly returned to his side. A confused look was apparent on her face. She had never been stopped by marines before and they hadn’t done anything wrong, so she was at a lost for why they were being confronted. She put a smile on her face. It was easier to simply ask rather than speculate. And so, with her usual fervor she said:
“What seems to be the problem?”
