Kash had token post on the deck, leaned against the railing looking out toward the water. This was her usual place whenever on the ship. Distant from everyone else and never bothered. She wondered where they would be going this time. As she noticed before, Leparo seemed to be getting more serious about this pirate crew. Hiring a shipwright was a sign of that. However she didn't feel like this crew had what it took to make it, not yet at least. Sure Leparo was strong and she was strong, but strength wasn't enough. And who's to say they are strong enough?
Kash remembered all the tales of the vile pirates that existed beyond the grandline. Her father is a marine after all and now her brother as well. The marines were their own beast of people fighting in the name of morals, if the marines were considered to be good, then the pirates that they fight against had to be nightmarish. However Kash didn't buy into any of it, the idea of you're only good or bad. She wanted to be free. Sure, bounty hunting sort of put her on the side of the marines but she never cared if the people she went after were truly bad or not. It was just the game and she needed money to play. They could escape or fight AFTER she got paid. At that point it wasn't her problem.
Kash would leave her own mind for a moment as she heard a loud bang of something falling...or in this case being thrown. There was commotion on the ship and it seemed to be coming from the captains quarters considering that's where everyone else was looking toward.
"You bitches find something to do other than gawk. Be useful," Kash would say in her typical harsh voice. The shipmates groaned in disdain for her orders but they would follow. Meanwhile, Kash would make her way to check on Leparo.
By the time she got to his open door, she could see hear him sobbing. His back was to her and she didn't say anything but watched. She wasn't sure what to say honestly, she wasn't good at being the shoulder to cry on. Was this all related to that note? Then suddenly Leparo walked over to his dresser and grabbed a box. Kash didn't recognize it at first but the Leparo would go to open it and the golden shimmer would reflect in his eyes. Leparo seemed hypnotized because he didn't seem to notice Kash standing in his doorway, at least not that she noticed. Leparo would move the devil fruit toward his face.
"WAIT!!!" Kash shouted but it was too late, the first bite had already been taken. She just stood there, watching him eat the fruit like he had been starved. She never knew someone could eat so aggressively.
"I swear to Gold Roger, if you freak out on me, I'm going to kick your ass..." she said, trying to sound as confident as possible but she did not know what would happen next. He was upset and just ate a devil fruit. What if the ability is affected by his emotions? She did not know Leparo for being very rational, just impulsive. Kash would put her hand on her the hilt of her sword in preparation. Waiting to see what the reaction would be.
