Zanji  hummed to himself softly as he  began his journey out of town this sure had been weird so far in this competition. He sat a top a hill over looking the town taking a small break from the competition. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his musical locket. He clicked it open and looked down at the picture of his mother and father and gently  pressed his thumb of his right hand against it affectionately. Soon he would be about halfway through this irritating competition and would be able to get out of this festering town. He could hardly wait to get out of this town the sooner the better. It held more bad memories to him than good since the death of his father.

He sighed as he overlooked the town and picked up a dandelion and blew against its seeds watching them drift in the wind. he remembered as a child that it was superstition that if u made a wish on a dandelion then blew out all its seeds your wish would come true. He breathed in deeply and then proceeded to pick another one and blow out as hard as he could wishing for something more interesting to happen during the competition. he opened his eyes and saw a ship on the horizon heading towards the town. He narrowed his eyes and would watch from a distance for now he was curious though about the were about's of his crew were. They had just suddenly disappeared and now he was alone. He wrapped his arms around himself and sighed he hated being alone. he held open the locket and listened to the melody as it felt like it helped sooth some of his loneliness away. He wished his father was still alive perhaps his life would be different who knows.
