Oh how the night time had that certain atmosphere to it. The air felt just right, nice, warm, and still save for the gentlest breezes that'd occasional brush by to animate the loose fabrics of those who walked the streets at these hours. Having purposely napped earlier today so he could have the energy to participate in the activities that the moon and starlight persuades human's to partake in, Hanbei was strolling off of the vessel he was stationed on for a simple night on the town. He hadn't any special plans besides going to a bar he had visited many years ago when his bones had more cartilage and his face bore less wrinkles. This didn't stop the bloke from feeling confidence in his ability to attract women however, Hanbei had his ways and had knowledge from many years of practice.

This not being a special occasion, just a night of drinking, Hanbei wore his typical garbs. Kimono, hakama, haori, obi sash, sandals. One could never be too safe though and with times being so turbulent, Hanbei was strapped up. His katana Entei was sheathed in its black wooden scabbard and being used as a cane of sorts and his water dial and thunder was smuggled in the confines of his clothing. Keeping his modest pace, he eventually made it to the open air bar and it looked just like he remembered it did. "Hari Kari." Hanbei's lips broke into a smile that exuded a nostalgic aura as he read the sign that hung above the small roadside den for alcoholics. Brushing aside the low hanging draping fabric that prevented his eyes from pressing a feeling of deja vu on him, it would come as soon as those cascading drapes were wafted to the side with a single hand, the other gripping his cane. His smile only widened and made his eyes form into a squint as he did so. The liquor hadn't even gotten in his body yet he was feeling quite warm and giddy. When one would brush aside the drapes all there would be was a counter and a row of barstools along this counter. Roughly twenty seats and about half of them were full. One gentleman was seated alone while the other patrons were each other's company, so Hanbei walked over to where the man was and took a seat next to him giving him a soft pleasant smile as he did so and laid his cane across his lap. Hanbei was on the shorter side of things being as old as he was yet his feet still could reach a rung on the barstool giving him some footing should something go down and he needed to act fast. "You should know it's a sin to drink alone, at least try to conceal the fact you're an alcoholic by drinking away your issues with other people." The man didn't seem receptive at first, but towards the end of Hanbei's dialogue he had a smirk on his face and Hanbei's smile slightly broadened before he turned his attention to the bartender.

"Can I ge-" He was tending to a few women at the other end of the counter, but it didn't really look like tending and looked more like flirting or attempting. Hanbei could tell they weren't that into the guy but were trying to spare his feelings or maybe not damage their bridge to free drinks or drinks at a reduced price. "You're going to be holding that finger up for a while waiting on that asshat. Been sitting here for fifteen minutes with a glass of melted ice." Hanbei shook his head and sighed. "Thinking with his dick, god dammit." Looking around at the other patrons they seemed to be minding their business and the bartender had his penis steering his brain so he was probably too busy sneaking peeks at cleavage to be paying attention to Hanbei. Gripping his cane in his lap, he safely pulled it to his side then reached over the counter with it extended before he slipped its length through the handle of a bottle of liquor. Tilting the cane upwards, the bottle slid down towards Hanbei and he stopped it with his free hand, before pulling his cane back and sliding the liquor bottle onto the seat beside him and his cane back into his lap. "Drinks on me toni- Hmm?" Hanbei looked to his left where the guy once was, but he was gone. Looking behind him he saw a section of drapes were just settling from someone parting them to exit. "More for me." He shrugged and grabbed the guy's glass of melted ice and looked around once more before pouring the contents over the counter onto the floor on the shitty bartender's side. Wiping the rim of the glass with the sleeve of his kimono sense young fellas now-a-days do crazy stuff like eat ass, he also rotated the glass' rim against he sheath of his sword. Generating some heat with his blade, his sheathe conducted it in a manner that didn't visually display his abilities or what he was actually doing. Disinfecting the rim of the glass with this heat, he put it on the table then popped the cork on the bottle of liquor with his teeth. Spitting the cork where he had poured out the lukewarm water, seriously fuck shitty bartenders, he poured himself a shot and downed it. The rim of the glass was still a bit hot and burned his lip a bit, a bit too eager to start the night off, but the alcohol felt good and his body welcomed it warmly. Easing forward resting his arms on the counter he just took a moment to let the drink get in his system. It was a warm shot since he had no ice, but it still was appreciated.

No one bothering to join him for a drink, he figured he'd bring his work to the bar and do some modification on his sword. In his possession he had a Water Dial and also a Thunder Dial, placing them both on the counter in front of him after moving the other objects out the way, he also placed his sword on the counter and unsheathed it. The sound of the blade being unsheathed drawing the bartenders attention, Hanbei chuckled as the man ran over and tried to tell him he couldn't have weapons here. Giving the bartender a perplexed look, Hanbei began gesturing his hands as if he was using sign language to communicate. It was in poor taste to act deaf, but the bartender was doing it before so why couldn't Hanbei? Watching the man make a fool of himself as he tried to communicate with Hanbei through some silly looking imitation of sign language with stretched audible words, trying to mouth the  sentence so Hanbei would lip read, Hanbei only started laughing until he said. "Thank you for understanding." That said, he went back to work and focused back on his sword and dials. The bartender giving up, he went back to dicking around. Grabbing the Thunder Dial, he figured this had the most immediate combat utility. Given with his fighting style he could counter fire, water with his blade wasn't that helpful. The decision made, he put the Water Dial back in the confines of his garbs and began working the Thunder dial to attach it to his sword. The dial int eh shape of a donut almost, he worked the blade of his sword through this hole and slid the dial down to the base of the sword's guard. Ensuring it was secured , he grabbed his sword off the counter and held it out behind him upside down, tip pointing tot he ground. The dial didn't slide downwards, it was secure. He was tempted to try to activate the dial, but didn't want to push his luck with the water. Sheathing his weapon he went back to sipping Liq alone.

More than enough words.[Exit]
