Asher stood there awaiting the impending bullets that should be coming from Birdie but they just weren't coming yet. Asher listened to the waves of the sea and he could feel them moving, it was a natural reaction to people at sea. Asher was never the type of person who was connected to the world around him except for his youth. His father had always made Asher do his training outdoors, one of the things he had the young kringle do was study what was around him as a means of becoming one with it. The sound that echoed through the air, the wind that would wipe across the face, Asher began to feel that all again. He wasn't yet feeling that "extension of his soul". Maybe he was drawing his sources wrong? It was when Birdie spoke Asher started to feel comfortable with his body and relax. The cackling wood on the floors, the seagulls from above Asher heard it all, but that wasn't enough. Asher would hear everything until the safety from the gun came off and his emotions kicked in. Asher started to tense up and then Birdie spoke, the lasting words were simple, do not use your senses.. use your soul. Asher would simply turn it off, he would notice his mood was changing as he grew relaxed. Relaxed for Asher was something totally different compared to most men. When Asher was relaxed he was angry and vengeful just as he was now. He began to think about all of those who wronged him and forced his hand in the world. For instance his "piers" for allowing him to be arrested for his "accidental" attack on the marines. They way they turned on their own just made Asher sick to his stomach. He would continue to focus on things such as this as his mind raced at a high speed. The next thought that passed through Asher's mind was his time with his opponent from the Samurai organization on Water 7, he knew how Asher was going to move and when he was going to do it. To say it was a farfetched theory to think he was using haki wouldn't be warranted. The memories that weren't more than a millisecond in the mind of Asher had come to an end as he felt the emotion.. The anger and rage he had been feeling since he came from Impel Down, it was what drove him and guided his hate. The feeling of an object coming directly towards Asher could be felt which alerted Asher to bob his head to the right. Once Asher had done that he had officially dodged the bullet considering when he opened his eyes from his state of focus he was facing Birdie who's hand was firmly on the trigger. Asher could feel everything as he looked around. The seagulls in the sky were swarming in a circle above the ship, the men who watched Birdie shoot Asher were standing there like statues everything there Asher could feel everything. "That feeling is something I never thought I'd feel. It seems my my rage and anger are the keys to my observation abilities" said Asher. He didn't expect such an easy practice. He was wondering what more there was to Haki.
