Cyrus sat down at his desk, a quill in one hand and crisp parchment in front of him. It was funny how a man who had dedicated his life to advancing science still wrote letters long hand with a quill, ink, and old, hard parchment. Each envelope sealed with hot wax and an insignia to mark who the sender was. In time when things were changing so rapidly, Cyrus took solace in the fact that some things never really did.
Dear Baz,
No that didn't seem quite right.
Hey Assface,
Hmm...maybe a little too much.
Dearest Assface,
Ah perfect, Cyrus thought as he looked down at the heading for his letter with a content smile on his lips.
Dearest Assface,
I hope all is well wherever you may be. I heard you caused quite a stir for the World Government when you pledged yourself to old man Taizen. Be smart, I can't say I've ever met the man myself but Yonko can be tricky beasts if you don't keep an eye on them. Unfortunately I'll have to keep this letter short as I'm on my way out and off to new seas. That being said I wanted to let you know that I'm leaving Drum Island in your care. I'd prefer it if you didn't let Taizen know about this new property you've acquired. I've left some of my Revolutionary friends behind to help with the transition. The people are quite self-sustaining and so long as you keep them happy, they'll keep your pockets full. You're free to use the lab however you see fit, though keep in mind there will be a day I'll come back around for my original home. I'm afraid this is where I'll have to leave you. I've been called up for some important business with the Army and I'm not entirely sure when you'll hear from me next. Best of luck little brother and try to keep your head on your shoulders until we see each other again.
Best,
Cyrus
With that, Cyrus signed the letter and sealed it in an envelope before handing it to one of his crew members who would be staying behind on Drum to watch over and help Bazel when he came. Cyrus looked out his window to where his airship hung low, supplies and Revolutionaries being loaded onto it as he watched. A new adventure was upon him and just over the horizon a new era was beginning.
