Geno
The air came off cold as it turned into a white mist with each breath. The large man with plastic shades trudged through the snow from his little shack on the outskirts of town. Geno had spent roughly two weeks or so out in Drum doing some training. The cold air and elevation increased the difficulty by several times over. He had wanted to alleviate his shitty feeling after being ignored by the giant monster. Being ignored was worst than death, that feeling of being irrelevant left a open wound in his ego. Granted, Geno's ego wasn't that fragile, it was a reminder that he was not at the top of the food chain. There are many men out there stronger than he is. During the two weeks he did not give up on himself, he used the incident to grow in all areas.

His body became hardened with the harsh weather. The constant cardio at higher elevation helped increased over all stamina. His mind became steeled to resist the cold chill that grasped every fiber of his body. Lastly he lifted many a thing, and adverted many a quick end to the wild life. More scars were awarded to him during this short stay but it would only give him more stories to tell. A warrior's training was never over. Even when at the top, they must not let time make them soft. It was only a few days ago something happened again that would set him on a adventure that would test his meddle.

A few days ago, the map began to move again and had pinpointed something. For a while the map received had went blank as the siege came to a abrupt close. It was just a normal map and only showed Geno's position. For some reason he decided to look over the map, it was like something was gnawing at him. Sure enough, the map had a red X on a place that was a few day's of sea travel. The map wrote out the name right in front of him.

“Baltigo.”

It was as if the map spoke to him directly. Of course Geno was shocked but he would not chase away the idea of adventure. Only fate would be able tot tell what exactly could happen. The only way to find out was to find out in person. So in the span of a few days, Geno geared up and acquired passage way through a merchant vessel. One that he used to get to drum so they had learned they could turn a profit getting people places. So it became somewhat of a ferry system. This time it would be more than just a few extra stragglers on board.

[Back to current time]

The sun hung high in the air over Drum, reflecting off the white snow. The day seemed brighter thanks to the sun-rays bouncing upward off the bleached ground. It had been snowing during those few days so there was about five inches in total. With the cold air the snow stuck this time. The fire roared in front of Geno as he just woke up not to long ago. It was about eight o' clock in the morning. A bit later than usual, but Geno felt like he deserved to sleep in a bit. Geno took the time to pack the necessary stuff. Clothing, some food, his sense of adventure, and the map. He was a man of few personal belongings. It was better to travel light to travel quickly. It was smart to keep moving with the ever watchful eye of the World Government wandering over the land. Thankfully because Geno was good to the village and kept to himself. The people didn't mind a pirate staying close by. Not to mention Geno took the time to help the locals with various jobs around the small village. Some found it hard to believe he was a pirate.

Most assumed pirates were the most dastardly of the bunch. Rape, pillage, and destroy anything in their path was fair game. Not Geno, he was not a pirate by choice. Not in the slightest, he was actually going to become a revolutionary but ended up committing a crime he could not take back. This was not the time to talk about it but, maybe some day he would spin a tale about it to someone who will listen. Now was not the time to reminisce over the times that had long since passed. Geno carried a extra weight on his shoulders that was a constant reminder of who he was. He still had much growth to do in terms of his training to become something great. The past hindered him at times from seeing the present that laid in front of him. The future was unsure thanks to the demons he held on from the past. He always had a smile on his face, or a bravado on to make sure the people didn't see his anxiety. At the end of the day Geno was still human. His muscles weren't a answer to everything.

It took him about 10 to 15 minutes to get everything ready to go. He looked around the one bedroom shack that had the dining room, kitchen, bed room all close proximity. The only extra room was the bathroom for latrine and showering usage. He figured he would stop in the local diner before heading out. The ship was not to live until about noon. He made sure to leave everything as nicely as he came into the room. Cleaned up a bit and made the bed. A local let him use the shack as thanks for saving him from a monster on the island. One that was mythical in nature. Geno didn't kill the beast but he was able to repel it so they could escape. He left the shack looking back up at the mountain knowing he would be back here some day to finish the beast personally.

Geno smile for a moment as he closed the door, as his adventure was just starting. This would be the moment where the camera would scroll upward. Then the title of the anime move would show as the song started playing.

Dark World Dealings

Geno would be walking from the edge of town and people would wave to him as he passed by. Small children crossed his path jumping around  him. He would make a short stop inside of the diner referenced earlier. The man had a bag on the counter as if he was waiting for Geno. He had become a regular in the diner, every morning and evening Geno would be there eating. Sharing his tales with the teenagers and children who asked.  They knew it was time for Geno to set off, for his next adventure. The owner was a tall bald man who doubled as the cook. The waitress was his daughter, still in her teenage years. She had become infatuated with Geno but he knew better than to get mixed up with such a young girl.

“You know you always have a home here.” Hans, stated. Geno grabbed the bag and plastic cup full of coffee from the counter. “Don't worry I will come back someday.”

Hans's daughter was waiting behind Geno without saying a word. She was much shorter than he was who towered over most of the people in the diner. “You better come back!” Zoe yelled as she hugged him upon turning around. A few of the smaller children Geno played with on his off time of training were their too. Tears welled up in their eyes he hugged Zoe.

Geno could feel the tears being to pool up, it only meant it was time to go. He had grown attached to the cold place. He knew good and well them crying would only make him get all sappy. “Don't do that to me, you will get me started.” Zoe pulled back slowly and wiped away her tears. They made a path for him as he exited the diner. They all flooded outside waving good bye. “This isn't good bye! This is see ya later!” All he could hear was cheers of joy as he walked towards the docks.

After making it to the docks the tall man would look around for the ship he was supposed to board. He took a sip from his coffee to warm his system while he looked around. He was properly dressed this time around, he wore winter based clothing with a change in his bag. He looked like a over-sized Eskimo, the local tailor was nice enough to custom make clothing for Geno. It wasn't long before he spotted the large merchant vessel that doubled as a ferry. It was a galleon class ship if Geno's memory served right. These ships were massive and could carry large quantities of goods and people. In this case it could carry both with minor issue. The hull of the ship was yellow with black stripes, held no pirate jolly roger. Just a shipping companies logo on a waving piece of fabric in the sky. This was a sign of neutrality but also a invitation for destruction. Geno could only pray that the trip would be smooth for the most part. He could see things being loaded on, and off.

With a nod he just took a deep breath and walked forward. The fragrance of dark coffee was a nice aroma that seemed to follow him as he walked. Geno was taking small sips as to not burn his tongue as he crunched through the snow. It would only be a few minutes before making his way up the ramp that led up the ship.

A man in a flamboyant sailors outfit with a scarf tucked to the side. Smacked his lips before looking upon the mammoth of a man moving forward. “Oh my you are a big one.” He said looking Geno up and down. After taking a drink of his coffee and making loud slurping noises. He only reached in his pocket for the ticket that given to him. “This will show I paid for my passage to Baltigo.” Geno's words was blunt and to the point. He didn't really pay attention to the fairies flirtatious eyes scanning his large stature. It still made him feel a bit awkward to have this man giving him 'that' look. Geno walked passed the man as he stepped to the side. He tried not to think too much on it as he made his way to the main deck of the ship. He moved out of the way of some workers moving boxes as he made his way down the stairs into the lower regions of the ship. He looked around and saw the signs on the wall pointing to different areas of the ship. “Passenger holding.” said one of them. With reading that he turned to the left and walked calmly down the hallway of the ship.

There were a few people in front of Geno heading the same direction. Something caught his ears, the sounds of chains dragging across wood seemed to echo. A sound that was dismissed at first. Because it could just be a rather big animal that someone is transporting to Baltigo. As Geno walked down the hallway, passing crewmen he saw the hunched over back of something malnourished. Geno could only close his eyes in disgust as he saw people. Three of them chained together led by a brutish looking individual.

Exodus [1-1] (Travel) Latest?cb=20120621195227&path-prefix=en

A man who wore a black gi with sandals led this small chain gang to the common room. He had a small black Mohawk that perched itself upon his skull. A chubby face accompanied his fat body. Geno tried not to judge but it was hard to as this man looked like he was well fed while these people he led were barely able to stand. Geno's pace picked up to pass the individuals, he tried not to look over at them. He was trying to keep to himself and not cause any form of trouble as promised. He made an agreement to not make trouble for others on the ship. If he let loose he could put everyone in danger in a instant.

Speeding up his pace he would pass the four individuals. The overweight man made a scoffing sound as Geno passed by. As if he were silently judging Geno at that very moment. The taller man who walked past the slave driver said nothing as he pressed on into the common room that was located towards the back of the galleon class ship. The hallway turned to the left to loop back around the ship. The hallway worked in a U-shape fashion for quick access to each room on that specific floor of the ship. Walking to the right he saw a door to the left. It was currently closing and Geno caught it with a finger. He pushed it open to reveal a room that was big enough to house 10-15 people. Two bathrooms in the back and a few bunk beds welded to the floor to keep them from sliding around.

A few folks were already present trying to get cozy. Geno did not say any word nor did anyone outwardly try to speak to him. He preferred it this way to be honest due to the fact he could keep to himself for the whole trip. It would take roughly two-three days if there was no trouble. Namely a sea king jumping up to attack the ship with all of it's might. One can only pray for safe travels. Upon reaching halfway across the room he stopped at a bunk bed with no one at it. Well at least he thought that to be the case. A woman and her two kids were present. One was a boy who was on the top bunk, a teenager was reading his book. His younger sister was on the top bunk next to them while their mother on the bottom bunk. Geno sat down on the bunk, having to hunch over a bit to keep from hitting his head on the top bunk. He laid his bag down on the floor and he laid on the bed. He let out a deep sigh after leaning back on the low quality bed.

He shifted around causing the whole bed to move due to his large body. The boy peeked down at Geno to see who his bunk mate was. He didn't say much just shrugged and went back to reading something. Then Geno heard the chains from earlier again. A painful scratching of the metal on wood as the chains dragged across the ground. The overweight male with the mohawk came walking into the room. People were talking but that all grew silent as he entered the room. Anyone could tell the tension had grown in the room exponentially.

Sitting on the bunk he tried not to pay it any mind. The ideal that people were used as objects was unsettling and angering. The fat man with the small black mohawk was sitting there with a smug look. He tugged on the chains to pull the three into the room. “Oi sit next to that wall, while I go find something to eat.” the bulky man spoke. He three chained together slumped down on the floor. The youngest of the three, a child began to sob. One that would catch the ear of the fat man. “Don't you start that shit again.” His voice was filled with an annoyed tone. One that everyone could hear due to silence in the room. Folks here in Drum were good people so they rewarded the man with disgusted looks. The fat man of course had no shame and continued to scold the child. He sat on the bed closest to them as he let go of their chain. He would only proceed to make the boy by making sobbing noises. “Boo-hoo, my parents died and I got caught stealing.” You should have just died of starvation. You wouldn't be in this situation had you done just that.”

These cold words seemed to send a shiver up Geno's spine. He could not stand by anymore while this kind of thing took place. People were not objects, and should not be treated like this. The large man stood up from his bed, unable to take this anymore. He did not say anything as dark veil covered his eyes. He gritted his teeth as he walked across the room. People stood back as they knew this could not end well for the large individual. A small voice in Geno's head only screamed out, “Beat his ass!” First he would try to reason with the large male. A few people braced themselves for the possible impact but instead. Geno surprised the whole room, he put on a act for all to see. He pushed his sunglasses up onto his forehead and looked at the three sitting down.

“You, fat one, are they for sale?”

The man turned around slowly with slanted eyes, he was a bit offended by the comment. But when he realized that the man standing next to the bunk was rather large he disregarded it. He stood up abruptly and brushed himself off. “Why, funny you would ask that sir I was on my way to Baltigo to sell these individuals.”

“Oh? I was heading there myself, rumor has it they sell some fine slaves there.”

This was all a fake, to get the man to relax and not jump the gun or anything. There were too many people around to fight on this ship. Not to mention should Geno raise a hand here everyone could be in danger. “Yes, but these are some high quality ones, a child, woman, and older man. They would be fine additions to any work force.” Inside Geno was quite angry he had to play this out peacefully. For once he would not mind flexing and call it a day. No need to cause any trouble for the moment.

“The name is Shaun, by the way.” He reached his hand out but Geno did not return the gesture. He was playing the snobby rich man role in this case. Shaun quickly retracted his hand after Geno gave him the look of 'don't touch me pleb.' This was something he seemed to be quite aware of. The three slaves were dressed in some cold attire as to not get frost bitten. Geno stepped away from the bunk and he motioned with his hand. “Let's see them have them stand in the door way.”

Shaun was eager to please as he grabbed the chain and looked at the three. “You heard him get up!” The three stood there and Geno reached in his pocket for some beli. Shaun's ears were filled with the sound of money. He was excited to make the sale and not have to wait two days to sale in Baltigo.

“Now, with this you three are to go into town and make a life here. You do not belong to this man.”

Shaun's world was shattered at that point. He stepped forward closer to Geno, and boy that was a bad move. Considering Shaun was standing on his left side, a left hand was already in reaching distance. Geno would bring his arm up and make a gesture. A middle finger pressed against the thumb and it was pressed on the man's forehead. “I don't know if you notice, but I am kind of twice your size in muscle mass. Please, just walk away.”

“You are stealing my property!”

Geno let out a deep sigh and looked down at the shorter male. “Why did you have to say that?”

The middle finger flicked the man in the forehead with the power of a giant. The man found himself being flung through the air and slamming into the bunk he just walked away from. The man was not dead, but hurting pretty bad. He was rubbing his forehead in pain as he felt as if his skull was broken in two. Geno turned back to the three and broke the collars on their necks. Also following that he snapped the chains around their ankles. “Now you take this money, go into town and tell em Geno sent you. The folks in town will help you get a real job and a place to stay.” The older man and woman fell to their knees and began to cry. Just like they they were free. The child ran up and gave him something invaluable. A child embrace of thanks was more than Geno could ever ask for. “Now go before the ship departs.” They all nodded and ran out of the room. Geno picked up the remaining chains and took a moment to restrain Shaun.

He was still moaning in pain. “Daw boo-hoo did the giant man steal your slaves away? Sucks when someone does it to you doesn't it?”

The people in the area began to cheer and laugh at the situation. “I will let you go when we get to Baltigo, until then you are going to sit down and think about what you did. I will let you go to eat and bathroom. That is it, nod once if you understand or nod a second time if you want me to pop you again.”

Shaun did not share anymore words, just gave a pissed nod. Geno would only head back to his bunk and lay down on the bed. Everyone else went about their business as usual.

The ship was set to leave shortly.
