Task:

Gerard shivered as the cold winds blew almost through him, his ship slowly drifting into the dock of Minion Island. He had wanted to get away from the madhouse that was Flevance, but he was beginning to wonder if this place was any better. It was just so damn cold, and seemed to lack the beauty that the mad kingdom had. Still, it was somewhere new, and even from his ship he could see that the town he was coming into was bustling with activity.

And where there was lots of people, there was always the potential for crime. And that was something Gerard could get behind.

He attracted a couple of looks as he docked his ship. After all, one man working an entire ship by himself was a bit of an unusual sight, but it wasn't something they thought too deeply on. Once his ship was firmly tied off to the dock, Gerard straightened his coat and began to look around. Before Gerard did anything, he knew he would have to scope out the island. After all, running headlong into a crime spree when he had no idea what the island was like was a surefire way to end up hanging from a rope. That was how he had managed to avoid getting caught out on Flevence and Spider Miles after all.

Now that he was off the boat, the cold didn't seem to be as biting as it once was, his coat providing some warmth to him. Though the young man made a mental note to try and find something warm to wear. But that could come later. Right now, it was time to see what Minion Island was all about.

There were a lot of people on this island. And I mean a LOT of people. It was almost easy to loose oneself in this place, but Gerard was making do. He was used to making his way through virtual mazes, whether they be scrapheaps and machines, or crowds of people. And thankfully even with his flashy attire, he didn't really stand out among the populace.

And it was apparently this abundance of people that gave the island its reputation. This place was a prime recruiting spot for marines, pirates, and revolutionaries alike. Though there was something about that that bothered Gerard. If this island was such a big boon to the world at large, then why was it in such a state. You'd think the World Government would try to invest in making this island better. Instead, while these guys weren't living in absolute poverty, Gerard couldn't help but feel like they should be living better. Better living conditions made better people, right? It reminded him almost like Spider Miles. The island was essentially one gigantic factory, one that produced all sorts of goods for the world. And yet the World Government did nothing to improve their lot in life. The place was a virtual haven for pirates now.

Sure, with the mass multitude of people here, Gerard could easily find some guys to help him establish some sort of crime gang. But for some reason, Gerard wasn't really feeling it. Right now, Gerard wanted to learn more about this place. He felt he needed to do something, but what?

Gerard had explored the island, taking in all that he could find. It really seemed the same, wherever he went. Plenty of people in decent, yet lacking living conditions. And snow, lots and lots of snow.

That was until he came across a town situated on a hill. What made this town stand out was that there was nobody in it. The town was entirely deserted. A ghost town, sitting in the middle of an island that was almost overcrowded with people. What the hell happened here? Why was this place in such a state?

Gerard quietly walked among the ruined buildings, looking around. This place could be rebuilt, maybe move some of the overcrowded populace here. But did the island even have the funds to do so? Seeing the state of this place made Gerard's blood boil. Even if the World Government did nothing, why not the pirates or the revolutionaries? They all seemed happy to take people from this place, and leave it a wreck. This was wrong.

When Gerard first came to this island, he had a goal, but a rather vague one. To become a king of the criminal underworld. But how was he to do that? Who would benefit from his rise in power? What would he do once he had his power? People with power didn't become legends based on that alone. They did something with their abilities. And seeing the state of this island was giving Gerard an idea. A way to both put Minion back where it belonged, AND to raise his statues in the world at the same time.

With his mind made up, Gerard began to head back towards one of the more populated towns. He had a plan, and he knew what he had to do to get it started.
