Susanoo

His rowboat faintly creaked as the docile waves cradled it and brought it towards the moonlit shore of Swallow Island. The stars twinkled brightly in the night sky and Susanoo felt like he was experiencing the calm before the storm. That feeling was his instincts and they were correct. This place, Swallow Island was home to many deadly avians that preyed on even humans, but was also a place many Marksman came to hone their skills. There was even a Marine base where they trained sharpshooters here, so Susanoo knows him coming here was the right choice. Dangerous and potentially fatal, but the right choice nonetheless.

He didn't bother using the oars to bring him into shore, he didn't want to risk agitating the water more than the rowboat already was and alerting Marines or a predator. Instead he sat back in the rowboat with his eyes forward on the landmass he was steadily approaching. Unwrapping a sucker, he tucked it against his cheek and the outside of his teeth. It hadn't even brushed against his tongue, but his nose let him know it was root beer flavored. A bit sweet, but it'd keep him alert and the sugar was always nice. "Lets do this shit." He didn't believe his training would be easy, but he was confident that it would have astounding results and he'd emerge from this island as a man ready to embark on his pirate adventure.

The boat cruised into shore and slid a bit into the sand. The moment this happened he felt a rush of emotions wash over him as if a rogue wave swept in and crashed down over him from behind. Birds began to screech and call out to each other and the forest that lied ahead of him grew restless and swelled with curiosity and violent emotions. "Still ready to do this shit." He reassured his resolve as he hopped off the rowboat into the sand of the beach and steadied his eyes forward. I'm the predator on this island. I'm on the top of the food chain. With that he began a modest jog towards the dense vegetation that was ahead of him.

With a front of confidence he walked without an ounce of fear in his body while on the sands of Swallow Island. However, once the terrain his feet were stepping on went from sand to vegetation, the young hunter took off in a sprint. Smaller birds fluttered out of trees, some flew away from him, but some flew overhead in the direction he himself was running to. It didn't make him nervous, it just made him usher out his awareness into the environment to be able to stay on top of anything that could potentially happen. Just a few weeks ago it would have made the youth nervous, however. That thought reconciled him and let him know he was on his way to greatness maybe. It was too soon to tell and he didn't want to get ahead of himself even though deep down he knew he was a prodigy or some shit.

Hurdling over large roots of trees that protruded out of the ground and quickly bear crawling in a sprawl under others, he got mud and dirt all over his clothes, but on purpose. It was to erase the foreign identity of his scent. While he was still a newcomer, he wasn't a guest in this jungle anymore, but one of its many inhabitants, at least for the time being. While he doubted the Marines would pick up on something like that, he knew the wild life would and it'd prevent him from being clumped in with the Marines, he'd be his own faction and have his own reputation. He didn't know what reputation the Marines had on the island, he assumed they were seen as terrorist that killed for the sake of killing. Susanoo wouldn't be too different from them as far as the killing went, he needed to experience. But he wanted to be seen as an entity to be avoided in this jungle and not a force of foreign bodies.

Spryly he continued his voyage through the overgrown metropolis of plants of greenery. He couldn't see more than 30m ahead of him thanks to the density of the jungle, so he took to the tree tops. In the canopies he proceeded onward towards his destination. The way he moved through the treetops certainly showed he was experienced with moving through nature like this. He had balance, agility, and sureness in his steps and jumps. He didn't hesitate, he was like a machine, but still there was humanity to his movements and naturalness. The way he took his breathes weren't just thoughtless inhales and exhales, but they were timed with the tension built up in his body during and in between movements. But again, he made these things seem natural as if they were ingrained into his being and while they weren't yet, this domain he was now familiarizing himself with was meant to instill these natural survival instincts into him, so they just came naturally to him.

As for his destination. When sailing to the island, no, even before that. He had visited many North Blue island that peppered the sea prior to coming here. During the term of those visits, he gathered information on Swallow Island, well the most he could get, for not many knew details about it. The most he got from anyone was that ironically the island had a mountain on it that was shaped like a bird itself. Aware of the presence of carnivorous birds on the island as well, Susanoo figured they resided on that mountain range. He figured a lot of people would bunker down somewhere in the forestry and not risk trying to create or find shelter in the mountains. Susanoo wasn't a lot of people though, at least he didn't want to be.

In his mind and with his sights on topping the food chain here, he'd make his home in those mountains where the other food chain toppers resided. It reminded him of a saying his father used to frequently tell him.

"If you want to be a big fish, get out of the tank full of little fishes and swim with the big ones."

He made an ugly face knowing he butchered the quote, but he still understood the gist of it. "Chill with the big dogs and soon you'll be one of 'em." He grinned menacingly as he cleared the forest and arrived at the base of the mountain. Looking straight up it he could see some of the stars above getting covered up by high flying silhouettes every now and again. Those flying black masses were bigger than any bird he'd ever seen before and it gave his body a pump of adrenaline. I'd usually be shaking like a bitch. But I'm actually pretty excited.

He wasted no more time with reminiscing and living in his mind. Lifting up a hand, he found a bearing in the mountain wall or cliff face and pulled himself up as his other hand mimicked this, albeit higher up. His feet also worked in unison with his hands to find bearing on the cliff face to support his body and prevent him from falling.

He was patient at first with his climbing, but as he familiarized himself with it, he began to speed up. This was him getting overconfident in his abilities, however. His heart nearly slipped out his body through his throat once he grabbed a part of the cliff and began to pull himself up only to have the section dislodge on him. He gripped tightly the bearing he already had tight with his other hand as the other side of his body swung like an opening door. He was about 250m from the ground, a fall from here certainly meant death. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuuuuuuck. Not all of it, but majority of his confidence was shot with this near death experience and his body that felt electric with adrenaline, began to feel rigid with anxiety.

He rallied himself together the best he could after lingering in the same spot for about ten minutes. He had to convince himself the bearings and footholds he found would grow tired of his weight and collapse on him as well if he didn't move. This meaning certain death, it surely was enough to inspire more movement up the mountain, but not much more. the first flat clearing he found he took it and found refuge in it. Hoisting himself over the ledge and onto the safe zone, he laid there on his back for another ten minutes. With that time he recuperated and composed himself, he also watched the bodies of the birds block out the stars in the sky. He noticed he hadn't even conquered half the mountain, not only did that mean he had some more work to do, but the massive bodies of the birds weren't even that close to him, but still looked monstrous. "Shit. He said to himself as he sat up. This really is going to take awhile. Depressing reality had set in and let him know that this training really wouldn't be a breeze and all sunshine and rainbows. It would be him out here by his lonesome, fending for himself and fighting wilderness. Am I really ready for this? He sat for a small moment in thought before the screeching for a bird broke his train of thought. His attention had lapsed while he was dwelling his mind and he hadn't noticed some of the birds from above were descending on his location.

No time to wallow in self pity I guess. Quickly he got up off his ass and analyzed his surroundings. Nothing but flat land as if it were a trail and the body of the mountain. It did wrap around however, so he took his chance with that instead of just sitting and waiting for the birds to come attack him. He'd deal with them later, right now he just wanted to secure a dwelling for himself. It wasn't a race, it was a marathon and longevity and perseverance would come from finding some shelter, not fighting some birds and potentially getting caught up in an all out brawl with them.

Many called it fleeing and being a coward, but Susanoo it a strategical retreat and in his heart of hearts felt that's what it was. He was a coward, but a closet coward. He'd put on fronts of courage and confidence all the time, but there was a time and a place and now wasn't one of them. Rounding about the mountain by running on the trail like flat, he immediately spotted a black hole in the cliff face. "A cave!" Sure there could be bats, bears, cold, spiders, snakes . . . he didn't allow himself to think of the possibilities any further. If he did he risked psyching himself out and purposely passing the cave in fear of the unknown. Valiantly he would enter the darkness, but as he did so he shouted as loud as he could. "HEY!" His voice echoed, but not for long. This meant the cave wasn't that deep, maybe 15m deep at the max, perfect for a home, but he had to make sure nothing had already laid its claim on it. He stood still for a moment waiting for a reaction from anything that could be inside, but got nothing. Still he proceeded carefully until he reached the back of the cave and walked to with of it with his hands. He also shuffled his feet on the ground as he did this, but he hit nothing. It was clear. He had no fire, so he couldn't see anything, but didn't have the energy or motivation in him to go gather the necessary supplies to build one. He'd be sleeping int he cold tonight.

It wasn't time to sleep yet though for he had to be sure the birds weren't still pursuing him. So he sat with his back against the deepest part of the cave with his eyes on the only entrance, his slingshot ready to fire on any passing silhouettes. About five minutes passed without anything passing or any birds screeching. Figuring he was int he clear he put his weapon away and slumped down still against the wall into a slumber.

Susanoo

Despite not sleeping in an actual bed and against the hard stone wall of the cave, Susanoo slept well. He would wake up at the crack of dawn, but not due to his own actions, but because the cave's only opening was directed towards the rising sun. The moment he felt the wrath of the gentle morning sun brush his face, his eyes cracked open. Sleepily at first as if waking up to a prodding mother asking him to do chores, but then he remembered where he was and his eyes opened fully. "Shit!" Swallow Island, training, the birds, the cave, it all came back to him, but so did the sun's rays hit his delicate freshly opened eyes. "Fuck!" His arm rose to cover his face and shield it from the morning light and he began to rise up to avoid being blinded again. Well at least I'll always wake up at dawn. He moved his arm and let his eyes adjust to the light that bathed the inside of the cave letting him see what his dwelling actually looked like. Truth be told, he was happier not knowing, for when he looked around he saw there was a human skeleton just a few feet away from where he was sleeping. "Ugh, what the hell.'' He stepped up to the skeleton and tapped it with his foot to see the bones disintegrate to into ash. It had certainly been there for some years. "Well damn . . ." He made the rest of the remnants turn to ash and swept them out the cave with his foot, just in time for his stomach to growl.

He hummed in thought for a moment before just heading to get some food. Walking calmly out the cave, he walked to the ledge of the mountain and looked out to see what was before it. He wasn't a scenery freak, but it was a beautiful view that even a brat like Susanoo could appreciate. Looking up he saw his avian competition was also up and active circling the skies. "Early bird gets the worm." Ironic. Scanning the forestry down below from the vantage point, he simultaneously made a mental note of the things he'd need to gather after getting breakfast. Fresh water or at least find a source he'd have easy access to, fire wood, and maybe get a few leaves to make decent bedding. He yawned lightly with his to-do list mentally stored then began to do a few stretches. Arms arching over his head tot he opposite side as he bent in the same direction, toe touches, then a few twist at the waist. Alright then. With that he began to make his way down the cliff face, something he found to be a much harder task than climbing up. It took him double the amount of time to go down when compared to going up, but he'd work on trimming that time down during his term on the island.

Susanoo

Susanoo expelled a breath of air from his mouth and wiped the sweat off his forehead. "Whew." When his arm came down it mimicked the other that was pressed against his hips as he admired the forest that was laid out before him. Moving his hands once more he grabbed his slingshot off his hip and held it in his left hand and fished in his pouch for two marbles. He notched one of them in the sling of his weapon and fired it forward into the tree tops of the jungle. This irritated some birds and they flew off upwards into the air, some towards Susanoo and some away from him. Going for the easy taking, he prepped his second marble, aimed, the shot at one of the birds that flew towards him. "One hitter quitter." The marble pierced through the bird's chest bone, then through its back. Lifelessly it dropped down to the ground in the plot of the trees in front of Susanoo. Stepping into the forestry he grabbed the dead bird and tossed it towards the base of the mountain out the forest.

These birds are pretty small. Going to need more to actually fill up my stomach. Readying his slingshot again, this time he waited in silence. He wanted the next four take downs to be all reflex based. The moment a bird would emerge from the canopy to fly off, that'd be his cue to fire upon it. His first attempt was horrible. The bird sprang out from the trees behind him. This made him have to employ a quick 180 degree pivot with his shot readied. As he landed, his fram was steady enough for his shot to be fired off as accurately as possible, but still it was off its mark. As a result the marble flew forward and pierced through a stray tree. Dammit.

He notched another marble and waited again in silence. He felt like he could feel the forest breathing and enveloping him. Instead of fighting it, Susanoo synchronized his breath with the nature and spread his senses further outside their usual range. His eyes were closed as he listened to the faint noises, the chirps, the rustles, and other noises of the jungle. Then when the next bird made their move, he felt he was much quicker. His eyes sprang open and he again employed his pivot to turn deftly to face the eagle. His shot already readied int he sling, he fired at the fleeing bird and accurately clipped its wing. It wasn't a kill, but it didn't stop the bird from being able to fly and caused it to helplessly sail down tot eh ground. He wasn't satisfied with his marksmanship there, but he'd get better.

He readied another shot, this would be number four, but hopefully result in his third downed eagle. He let the forest's energy enshroud him and he also began to wrap his surroundings in his own energy. Again his senses were poured out into the environment and it felt as if his heart beat syncopated with that of the jungle. His breathes were calm and lax and his mind was in a tranquil yet sharpened state. He was ready to react to the next bird that came out of the overhead canopy. This time however he waited for about five minutes for some activity. In the lapse of those five minutes his stomach growled breaking his focus a bit, but he ignored it the next time it growled and stayed present in the moment. When the wind swept the area and caused the trees to rustle, Susanoo's hands reflexively twitched, but he corralled it back under his control and stopped himself from firing at nothing. He grew a bit impatient, but kept his eyes closed and took a calm deep breath with the breeze that brushed the forest. When he expelled the breath, it was go time. One hundred-twenty degree pivot! The thought flickered through his mind quick as a lightning bolt and he was already carrying out the action, before the thought was even completed. His eyes again sprang open like before and like a quickdraw cowboy he brought his weapon up and fired off his shot. He was dead on his target and pierce the eagle right through its head. "Ha!

When he walked over tot he corpse to admire his work, his stomach growled even more. Food was right there in front of him and he had two more of the birds outside the thicket, but he still knew it wouldn't satisfy him. Besides he saw it as good training to persevere through hunger. He had heard stories about battles lasting for days and he knew that hunger definitely was something that would be a factor. Learning to fight through it now would potentially save him later.

Tossing the kill out to the base of the mountain, he readied himself again. This time it didn't take much time for an eagle to spring out the trees. This time however, the eagle came at him. Perhaps it was pissed over having its brethren killed or maybe this was just the carnivorous people eating side of the birds. Nonetheless, Susanoo dispatched the bird like he did the most recent one. With the bird coming straight at him, he didn't have to account for lateral movement, up, down, left, right, or diagonal. It was just a straight shot. The only real challenge here was that he did have to act with more urgency this time around. That wasn't an issue though and this was evident in the fact the eagle hit the ground dead before even getting 10m close to Susanoo. The marble he fired at it went straight through its cranium and exited somewhere out its back at an angle.

His record was five shots and four kills. Not perfect, but it'd get better with time. Right now he wasn't focused on that, however. He was looking to make his last kill, so he'd have a filling breakfast. Quietly he waited for his last target to spring out of the foliage to be shot down. He took in calm breathes as he waited and soon, one last eagle began to move. It was attempting to flee the area though and this made it difficult for Susanoo. He wouldn't be able to shoot it form where he currently was. His eyes shot open and he began to run forward towards a tree. Quickly he scaled up the wooden trunk and he perched himself on a horizontal branch. He didn't stop there though, jumping up, he grabbed on to a higher horizontal branch and pulled himself up quickly. Hearing the bird proceed to flee away from him, he needed to make movement towards it, so he began to run on the branch in the direction of the bird. Jumping from this branch to one that was in front of him, he quickly climbed up the entirety of the tree, to have a vantage point as the bird began to ascend higher and higher through the jungle. He could see the sky from where he was and calmly he waited for the bird to break out of the treetops into the sky. As soon as it did, Susanoo trained his sights on it and fired his slingshot. It sailed cleanly through the arm and didn't hit any branches. It was shot masterfully and hit the bird right in the head. It fell limp and Susanoo went to collect his meal after scurrying down the tree. Bunching each of his five kills up together, he walked through the jungle holding them by their legs as he gathered firewood. Next he made a fire and roasted the eagles after plucking their feathers. It was a bit protein heavy, purely meat, but it was a good meal despite nearly being burnt to a crisp to ensure the meat was cooked.

Susanoo laid back a bit and released a breath of contentment. His arms braced his body up as they were comfortably behind him holding up his weight. The meal wasn't the best tasting thing he had every eaten. For the most part it was burnt and charred up to ensure all the nasty shit in these birds was cooked out of them and killed, but it was filling. He thought he'd eat it all, but actually left a bird and a half untouched. That'd be dinner or something later on to hold him over till dinner. Gathering up the remains of the food, he pissed out the fire he had built. It sizzled violently, but eventually was extinguished.

"Twenty nine, thirty. Thirty one . . . God damn that was a long piss."

It was a weird habit to count how long his pisses were, but not something he was really ashamed of. His record was fifty five seconds, so far. He tried to break it once, but nearly peed on himself trying to hold his urine in for so long to build up more. Putting his junk away and brushing his hands against each other in an attempt to make them actually "clean", Susanoo went to reach down for the food remains when he heard a rustle in the forestry to from his right. It wasn't like animal rustling though, it was more careful, but also more frequent as if there was a pack of whatever was approaching.

An Hour Earlier

"Lieutenant Briggs!" An Ensign ran up to his superior officer with a firm and strong salute. The Lieutenant looked up at the Ensign with a raised brow. He was currently seated on a wooden crate with his rifle and rag in his hand. He was always known for keeping his firearms in tip top shape. "At ease. What is it?" The Ensign lowered his salute and relaxed his body a bit, but still stood militant in the presence of the Lieutenant. "We noticed smoke rising about a kilometer due North." The Lieutenant nodded as the Ensign continued to speak. "About a month ago Ensign Shadim went missing during a storm. We're thinking it could be him, seeing as there are no other human inhabitants on this island." Again the Lieutenant nodded, then secured his rifle in his leather sling. "That sounds unlikely, but it does sound investigation worthy." He got from atop the crate and dusted himself off, not that there was anything on him really, he just liked to have everything nice and clean. "Round up fifteen men for an exploration team." The Ensign saluted once more. "Aye Sir!" With those orders he snapped his salute down then ran off to carry out the orders.

"Commodore." The Lieutenant had went to the Commodore's dwelling to report what was about to happen. "Enter." As told, the Lieutenant entered then explained the situation to his superior officer. "Ok. Don't take long. It's a jungle your uniform is bound to get dirtied when trekking through it. We can't have another week long exploration mission." The Lieutenant looked downwards in a disheartened manner, but understood where the Commodore was coming from. "As you wish." With that the Lieutenant exited the Commodore's tent and when he stepped outside he saw his unit of fifteen Marines ready to move in front of him.

"Alright then, this will be a quick expedition. We see the source of the smoke, deal with it, then come back. Am I understood?" All the Ensigns held a firm salute to their head as the Lieutenant spoke. "Yes sir!" "Then lets move out." With that they started their journey into the dense jungle of Swallow Island.

Susanoo

After the initial rustle, there was another that followed, but from another angle. This time it was from Susanoo's left as opposed to his right where the first rustle came from. This couldn't be an animal plot, it was too coordinated, at least he assumed he was since he guessed he was being surrounded. Did they see my dick? He knew now wasn't really the time to be worried about something so trivial, but he couldn't help but wonder.

Despite these thoughts, he tried to remain calm and composed and act as if it didn't really bother him. Besides, they didn't have any real reason to just outright attack him did they. He had encountered a few other Marines after his bounty had "skyrocketed" to a "hefty" 2,000,000 and they hadn't really attacked him on sight or even recognized him really. It made him wonder how many potentially dangerous and "wanted" people were actually walking amongst civilians on the street. He had technically killed a man before, yet apparently it wasn't really a big deal?

Anyways, he didn't stop moving for long when he heard these rustles, but there was a momentary pause. Nothing too unnatural and he played it off as just a look of curiosity as he didn't give the second rustle much attention. He extended his senses out further into his surroundings while he gathered up the food and bought time by stomping out the ashen remains of the fire. There's a lot of them. Definitely human. Guessing these are the Marines that are stationed on the island. He had the food wrapped in some spare cloth and he held it in one hand like a football player would cradle the ol' pigskin. The ashes stomped out, he dug his hand in his ammunition pouch as he walked to an edge of the clearing he was in where Marines weren't stationed. With his hand in his pouch he prepared four marbles to be fired off with his hands. Grabbing his slingshot or Gunbai would ping the Marines off and let them know he was aware of their presence. He didn't need that. Not yet at least.

With the four marbles ready, he quickly pulled his hand out his pouch pivoted over to be squared off with a group of the marines, then flicked his fingers out as if flicking water off his hands. This accurately shot four marbles outwards towards their targets. That would be a basic assault. Susanoo wasn't a basic type of person though. When his hand was fishing in his pouch as if he was looking for lost car keys in a messy purse, he applied enough pressure to the marbles to lightly crack them. This way when he fired them, during their flight they would shatter and unleash a spray of shards at their targets. Less concentrated damage, but more of an irritant and designed for a bigger target or multiple targets.

The moment his pivot was executed, the Marines, well at least one of them sprang into action. This was the Lieutenant and his shot rang out from 65m away. Somehow even through all that foliage, he got off an accurate shot. He was also well outside of the teen's sensory range, but that was irrelevant, because he just assumed he got shot by one of the closer Marines. The bullet would lodge itself into Susanoo's shoulder, luckily not the one he used to fire off his attack. He would however, drop his food as a result of getting shot int he arm that was holding it. "Fuck!" He didn't waste any time with nursing the fresh wound or freaking out. He just took the shot, turned back around to where no Marines were, then began hightailing it. Multiple other shots rang out from behind him as did the sound of shouts and yells from his attack. Two bullets had grazed him. One grazing his thigh and another grazing his neck which sent a spine chilling sensation down his body. It almost made him lose his footing, knowing if the shot was only one inch more to the right, he could have been dead.

Stumbling for only a moment, he kept it pushing and he could hear the Marines behind him intended to do the same. "He's over this way hurry!" Fuck my life! Just like he did when he first arrived on the island, he vaulted over humongous tree roots, scurried under shrubbery, and other things of the sort.

In all honesty, he was just hoping the Marines weren't as trained for running through the forestry as he was. He was half right. Some got left behind and dusted off, but a slim few stayed on his tail. What troubled him the most was that someone was firing far too accurately at him the whole time he was running. This forced him to run in an irregular pattern. Zig zags with his head ducked down. These were bullets from Lieutenant Briggs who continued through the jungle with a light but brisk jog. He passed up a few winded Marines who were hunched over with their hands on their knees gasping for air. "Get a move on Ensigns. The hunt has just began." Even while he was jogging he fired off semi-accurate shots at Susanoo.

Susanoo wasn't too far away from his pursuers, but he was far enough to take a moment to actually retaliate. This doesn't count as going against my training. They aren't birds after all . . . He knew even in the face of Marines he should have been relying on his slingshot alone, but this was life or death and obviously he wasn't trying to die.

The handle of his gunbai extended out from the back his right hip in a horizontal fashion. Gripping this handle in a backhanded fashion, again he pivoted to face where he had just run from and where his pursuers would be coming from. His left arm wasn't useless, but he didn't want to risk using it and injuring the arm more by making the bullet that was still inside it go deeper. Swinging the war fan outwards with all the strength he could muster up, the result was a blast of powerful wind that spanned out 180 degrees and for 35m. It could have went further, but he wasn't using both his hands.

This caused a huge portion of the trees to not only get blown down but blown away. The trunks would crack and splinter violently, then tumble over. The smaller trees would get unearthed and just fly away from Susanoo to barrel into his foes. The Marines caught in the field of this attack would be vulnerable to not only being blown away, but the trees that were also being blown away, the trees that were falling over, and the sheer force of the wind. It'd break their bones when it hit them and it surely did. This wouldn't only work to damage the Marines, but cause disarray to their ranks. It'd surely give Susanoo time to flee.

Damn . ..  I've gotten a lot stronger. He took a moment to admire the mayhem he caused. Trees laid out on the forest floor. Marines here and there, peppering the battle field as they groaned in agony.

Thanatos

He had docked on the shore of Swallow Island just a few hours ago. Seeking shelter and securing the surrounding area was weighing heavily on his mind until a loud boom and the violent cracking of trees was heard. Birds fluttered away from the origin point of the occurrence fleeing for their own safety. "Hmm?" Thanatos raised a brow in curiosity and looked once more towards where he was headed. "Perhaps this will be a short trip." He wasn't sure the person who caused this was the man he was searching for, Susanoo, but it wouldn't hurt to check and dust off his talents

His sword was sheathed safely in the its scabbard that he held firmly in his left hand. His throwing knives were stored in various spots on his body in leather sleeves in groups of threes. He was always armed like this, ready to strike at anyone or defend himself at a moment's notice. Like a dart he took off at his max speed and headed towards the source of the disturbance. Once he was about 25m away and still hidden in the vegetation, he slowed his advance and moved more carefully through the jungle. He could hear the groans and moans of wounded humans. The fact the groans were coming from multiple people made Thanatos know that his target wasn't amongst the masses, but possibly the one who caused such a catastrophe. Seems as if this won't be a walk in the park. Thanatos smirked as he eased his way through the dense greenery and one by one began throwing his knives at the wounded Marines. Headshot after headshot, they were silenced until he came upon one who were a different uniform, presumably he was their commanding officer.

"Report back to whoever is in charge to stay out of the jungle. I have business to attend to that doesn't concern Marines. The death of your squadron should be reason enough to heed my warning." Lieutenant Briggs shuddered in fear. "Un- unders s- stood." Thanatos then unsheathed his sword and in the same motion cut a tree that was pinning the Lieutenant down into several pieces, despite only using one stroke. He then motioned with his head for the man to get about his way back to his base and he did just that.
