Axel was impressed by the two marines who managed to take down the giant man. To do something like that, the marksman would need to shoot him a few times, but the fact that his tyranny was ended with an assortment of strikes from the body was incredible to the young man. Maybe pure close combat styles weren't so bad after all, Axel thought. Then again, it would be much safer if guns were used to harm the criminal, not having to get so close that he could hurt you as well.

"Alright, I assume that was the last of them. I hope it was, at least. Anyway, let's get to the base fellas," Axel added after the fight was over. he grabbed the arms of the man he cuffed with his own arms and began guiding him out of the alleyway. Now that they were out in the broad daylight, even if an enemy wanted to attack them, there was a possible chance of more marines coming along to stop them. The base was now only a few blocks away.

"Maybe after we send these guys to the base, we can go to the nearest bar and have a drink or something? I think we did enough patrolling to let the other marines handle any other small nuisances," Axel asked his marine friends. He loved protecting people, but sometimes he wanted to take an hour to unwind.

Ensign Bainbrydge adopted the duty of escorting two of the perps to the base. While Adamantune did not mind, he had the smallest suspicion that Bainbrydge wanted to keep the instances of Marine brutality to a minimum, but that was whatever. Adamantune thus had the opportunity to escort the officers escorting the criminals. At least he was all angered out. Who knew, maybe he would even cut ensign Rover a break?

The trip to the Marine base was, of course, uneventful. No more criminals came to challenge the trio, and no more hassle was done. Although, there was quite a few frights at the base when they got there, mainly due to the appearance of Wade (they never get use to how he looks) and the fact he had two restrained men over his left shoulder and was pulling a ten foot man by the wrist. Once all of that craziness was settled, the trio then went to the nearest bar."Lightning and Thunder", it was called, and was not a grandiose place. A simple, dingy bar with bad lighting. They stayed however, and managed to get drinks. Wade himself did not get alcohol. Rather, he managed to find a soda machine in the near front of the establishment and got himself about 4 bottles of cola. He was currently at his third bottle. The group was sitting a table near the left of the bar, just the three of them. The other patrons were either staring or simply just minding their own business while washing away their sorrows with beer. Old fashion rock n' roll could be heard in the background, albeit, faintly. Enjoying the pleasent atmosphere, Wade spoke to his comrades, wanting to learn more about there. "What ya'll specialise in? Combat wise I mean." He would say as he chugged down his beverage, emptying his third bottle.

The three marines were successful in their efforts to get the criminals to the Marine Base, where they would be held until they could be transported to a prison that could provide better security. Not a lot of marines stayed at the base since there was always trouble in South Blue, so you could already see that the bad guys wouldn't have much trouble escaping.

Like Axel suggested, the three friends decided to go to a bar nearby called Lightning and Thunder, which wasn't the best bar that the marksman has been too, but it wasn't the worst either. The trio got seats at a table on the left side of the place, but before they started talking to each other, Axel decided to order some ale from the counter, then sat back down just in time to hear Wade's question. He asked what combat style he and Dasnet used.

"Well, as you saw back in the alleyway, I am a marksman who works with revolvers and a handy shotgun that I only like to use in situations that force me to fight close range. I never really favored hand to hand or melee weapon combat that much, since you run a higher risk. For example, if you are using a sword against someone else's sword, you could get hurt just the same as you could hurt them, but by shooting at the swordsman before they are able to get to you, you won't be in as much danger, as long as you are faster than your opponent," Axel explained with a serious look on his face. When it came to combat, he didn't mess around, even when harmlessly talking about it like this. He sipped his ale while listening to Dasnet's response, and then Wade's if he planned to answer his own question.

Bainbrydge had basically finished most of his cola by the time it took Adamantune to grab one. Dasnet held just the one as he made his way to sit next to his fellow ensign. Taking a small swig of the stuff, he swished it around his mouth, tasting it, testing the fizz. Swallowing that, he downed a bit more. Letting out a small urrp, he turned to ensign Bainbrydge as the guy had started asking something. In response, Rover went on about lecturing them about the benefits of his style of combat. He took another sip of his cola before beginning on his own explanation of his abilities.

I'm something of an all-rounder. I got a gun, which shoots. I like using my fists more, though. Something about getting right in there... Just... -net He caught himself. Ah, it just feels more sure.

Lifting his bottle again, and then placing it back down lightly, he now had half the thing of cola left. He swirled it around, hearing the bubbling action get louder.

You, Bainbrydge? What was that teleportation thing you did -net? Oh, and how'd you break that giant's blade all unmoving like that? That was like, shiiii

Wade simply nodded knowingly at both responses, letting them sink into his mind. "Cool, cool." He would say as he scratched the back of his head, mainly due to the humidity and lack of a air conditioner in the damned bar. He quickly perked up at the sound of his name and listened to Dasnet's question, nodding as he leaned back into his chair (which hardly managed to support his giant size). "I'mma, what do call em' boys, Martial Artist. I trained my body such that I can turn it into a "iron carapace" if I so choose along with leg strength explosive enough to seemingly cause one's body to "disappear"..." Wade would say, basically reciting what the mentor told him when he was explaining Rokushiki and the various techniques so many years ago. Why didn't these two recognize it? They're Marines aren't they? Or is Rokushiki just not taught so openly? Wade, after mulling over this, decided to go with the latter. He knew that the martial art was mostly used for assassination. It'd make sense that not every person would know about it. "I also know my way around a gun, thought not a lot." He would then add on, now not leaning in his chair but now sitting straight, finishing his words to his two comrades.

"hmmm, interesting, you two. Your styles obviously helped us out a ton back in the alley, so I won't rule out direct contact combat just yet," Axel commented with a smile after his two friends explained their styles. Even as a marksman he had to appreciate raw strength and acknowledge it, especially Wade's metal-like body. The spiky-haired marine was a bit skeptical though, since he didn't believe anyone could just train their body to be hard enough to break blades. He would leave it alone for now though, since it didn't really matter. Sounds like a thing only the tall man uses anyway, so Axel didn't think that he would have to actually fight an enemy like that, unless Wade turned rogue that is.

"So, aside from being a marine and stop evil, what other things do you guys like to do? Since you accepted my invitation to go to this bar, I am pretty sure work isn't your lives or anything," Axel asked. He was interested in what these abnormally large men did besides beating the shit out of others, since they looked aggressive, but he knew that they weren't like that for the most part. "When I am not on a mission, I usually chill out on the base of whatever island I am on and read a good book. I like a ton of different genres, like adventure, murder mysteries, sci-fi, and many more," he added.

Adamantune tried to digest what ensign Wade Bainbrydge was talking about. The guy was being rather vague about it, but the blame could not be placed on him. He as well had not divulged the deeper facets of his abilities, not that there was much to talk about there. Like he had said, he used his fists, and guns. Only things he omitted was how he was enhanced and that although he liked using his fists more, his ability with guns was just a bit better.

'Iron Carapace', -net?

When he said that absentmindedly, he appeared to go into a trance, only snapping out of it when he heard Rover directing the conversation towards more small-talk. The way he talked about the books he liked, it was as if - Wait... did he say...

Jumping to his feet, alarmed,

Wait! Don't we have a mandated half hour break per patrol?!

There was a look of concern on his face as he tried to think of the regulations regarding breaks. However the way ensign Rover had mentioned what they were doing in the bar as if they were skipping work to come here....

"Well, to be honest my gunslingin' amigo, I really don't do that much..." Wade would begin to explain before Dasnet would suddenly interrupt him, rambling about how there was a mandated break time for them per patrol and such. "Calm down metal man," Wade would begin to say as he raised his hands up in a non-hostile manner, "It ain't like there is a badman around every corner here. I been here for the longest and I can tell you that there are hardly any crimes here. In-fact, those last three boys were the first action I got in a few weeks." He said as he stretched out. "Besides, don't it make sense to be here? Natur'lly badman would come here and talk about their plans and what not. So, if anythin', we stills workin', but on our own terms." As if by the devil, the doors to the bar would suddenly slam open and a pack of four men would come in.

Each man was dirty and rugged looking. One of them wasn't even wearing a shirt and the supposed leader, a rather curly haired man, come up to the female barkeep and began to flirt with her (with the woman looking like she is about to punch him). "Ya see? Now we just gotta wait. Can't take 'em based on looks alone." Wade would then say in a rather hushed voiced to his comrades, his eyes on the men.

When Axel answered his own last question, Ensign Dasnet freaked out, trying to confirm if the three of them weren't supposed to be on break at this time. Wade then calmed him down by replying logically. Pirates frequented bars whenever they landed on an island, and there were a lot of rough-looking people around the trio, so if anything on this island was going to occur, there was a strong possibility that the location they were currently located in was where it would happen. Wade then began eying down four men who came into the bar. He told Axel and Dasnet to wait for them to cause a stir, as if he knew just by looking at them that they were criminals. They were all flirting with the bartender, which didn't seem too violent at first, but then one of the men reached for her breasts, which ended in a hard slap on the wrist by the beautiful blond woman.

"Oh, we got a fighter then? Let's show her what we do to fighters, boys," the large-bellied man who was slapped had said, and with that he took out his dagger. Scared out of her mind, the lady tried to run from the counter and towards the staff room, but one of the other men grabbed her right arm and yanked her. Now the top half of her body was lain across the counter, but the man with the dagger out was only interested in slicing her right arm clean off, which he would do successfully if his ally kept his grasp around her wrist, and no one interfered. No one seemed like they want to mess with the four, as if they had seen them fight somewhere before. Axel already got out of his seat and stood next to his table, ready to shoot.

Once the round-bellied man's dagger hand rose in the air, ready to slice the woman, he pulled out the revolver attached to his right hip via the holster, aimed and fired at the man's arm. His dagger fell on his right foot, digging right in there. He screamed in pain, falling backwards. His head hit a stool as hard as it could, knocking him out cold, stopping the noise he made as fast as it came. Now everyone had their eyes on Axel, and most saw the marine badge attached to his belt. The three remaining criminals didn't care however, because they wanted revenge.

Adamantune charged. However the guy he was charging at looked confused. Adamantune was running at a point definitely to the guy's right. The guy clearly saw this, but could not believe his eyes. Rubbing his eyes, then opening them again, he saw that the robot man was clearly charging towards his right. There was no one over there! What was this Marine getting at? Was he running away? Was this robot drunk and seeing double? The thug could simply not wrap his head around the apparent insanity displayed by the man of justice. He was so absorbed in deciphering the stranger's actions that he was not even in any fighting stance any more.

Adamantune ran just past the man, stopping, and simultaneously grabbing the man by his neck, effectively doing a kind of alternative body slam. It was an RKO. The guy fell hard, experiencing what Adamantune estimated to be serious trauma to the head. Perhaps just a concussion, whatever. Adamantune got up and dropped himself on the guy, this time for sure causing serious trauma to the guy's body. Ensign Dasnet then threw this guy at the other two, also charging them down, falling on top of the trio who had fallen on the bar counter.

He got up and left, without another word, with just a smile on his face.

Wade watched as Axel proceeded to shoot the man who just attempted to cut the woman's arm. Perhaps by dumb or luck or pure skill on Axel's part, the dagger dove into the man's foot, causing him to fall back and knock his head against the table, causing him to fall unconscious. "Good on ya!" Wade would say as he was about to charge at the two in-front of him, only to stop all together as he saw Dasnet simply trample into them after practically breaking the first man who he caught. He couldn't help but raise a eyebrow as he then left the bar with a smile, as if, satisfied at how brutal he was. Frowning at the the thought, Wade walked calmly at the three incapacitated men and checked their pulses, thinking Dasnet might have killed them. Luckily, all of them were alive. Beaten and in agonizing pain, but alive. To this, Wade sighed in relief and proceeded to drag the four men out of the bar, stopping in-front of Axel. "Keep a eye on ole' Das. It almost like he goin' out his way to be brutal. Anyways, so long my friend. I'll handle these four, you just make sure everyone here is ok, ok? Is sees you soon, Axel." Tipping his hat at the shorter man, Wade then proceeded out the door and to the Marine based, dragging the men along with him.

Axel watched as Dasnet took care of the other three, though he did so in a reckless manner, leaving right after he caused them quite a ton of pain. The marksman looked at the frown on Wade's face and knew that the huge man was thinking the same as him. A marine shouldn't be so destructive, especially when handling enemies in a public setting. A civilian could have gotten hurt, and that would have cause much controversy for the marines.

Wade dragged the four men out of the tavern, instructing Axel to keep an eye out on Dasnet, since he would probably be on patrol at this moment, using the same amount of force he just did. Axel nodded and sat back down at his table, wanting to finish his drink before he had to go back on duty. There was a lot of commotion about how the marines were truly on top of things now, and how awesome that fight was. Wow, they aren't even considering how much danger Dasnet could have put them in, Axel thought, but this was a tavern after all. Everyone here enjoyed that kind of attention. With that last thought in his mind, Axel quickly finished his drink and speed-walked out of there, weary of some more drama that would unfold.
