Axel explained as Hoshikita ran that he had been mysteriously attacked by the woman and that the young lieutenant had actually just saved his life. Realizing that this was a life or death situation, Hoshikita took on a serious tone and took extra care to remain aware of his surroundings. He'd hopped up into the branches of a tree without difficulty and the two were stably hidden away beneath the pine needles, at least from above. A short moment later, another man had approached them, seemingly out of nowhere. He was apparently curious as to the situation, and Axel obliged his questions without reservation. Hoshikita would have found the man's sudden appearance strange and cause for concern if he wasn't more worried about other things. Hoshikita was more concerned with their pursuers at the moment than random passersby, but they were far enough in the forest that he couldn't see back out into the field. The trees in the forest were thick and difficult to see through, laterally or vertically. In his mind, getting out of there and calling for help was the first priority. "In any case, I think we really need to get out of here." Hoshikita would say regardless of the flow of conversation, suggesting they flee before whatever crazy woman was out there found them and burned him as badly as she had his friend. His words were punctuated by the banging sound of some massive object slamming against the ground many times. The sound made Hoshikita shudder, and he wondered what the woman must be doing out in the field. He hoped she wasn't too angry that he'd saved her prey from crushing death. Unbeknownst to Hoshikita, she was certainly quite angry, and had apparently taken flight in search of him.

Cross suggested that the three of them attempt to leave the area to avoid any more danger, but Axel wasn't going to give up that easily, even though he couldn't walk without some assistance.

"But Lieutenant Cross, we can't just leave the island defenseless while we attempt to run away. We are marines, so the only right thing to do in this situation is to prevent any evil from causing harm to the civilians," Axel responded to his hesitant higher-up. There was no way he would walk away when someone so powerful was loose. Tonight was Karate Island, and tomorrow night might be Base #17. He had a plan anyway. "Your legs are really long, so how about you carry me while I aim at the witch? From the distance she was at a minute ago, I could get her," the marksman suggested, with his revolvers still in hand. Before Cross could reply to this plan though, Axel noticed something.

It has been quite windy today on and off, and now the wind was beginning to come back, not being wild, but being just enough to push the pine needles aside for the marine to see something above the group. He looked upward and towards the direction they fled from, and saw the witch in the sky, five meters higher than when she attacked Axel. The witch could also see them if she looked below at the slightly moved pine needles and really focused like Axel was. From their location, she was 10 meters north and 30 meters into the sky. Cross didn't have to run far from the place he found Axel since the forest was right in front of that field anyway.

Axel raised his right arm and aimed the revolver in it at the witch, Ignoring the pain that his feet endured for just a few seconds to keep his hand straight. The barrel was pointed at the witch's torso when Axel pulled the trigger four times. He shot just about three seconds after he spotted the witch in the sky. The wind wasn't strong enough to do something like move bullets going so fast, and even if they did, it wouldn't be by much. These bullets had a range of 50 meters, so they wouldn't naturally stagger until then. After that, he would have one bullet left in that revolver. one was used against a skeleton earlier, and four used just now.
