The clarity of the sound was piercing and, relentlessly, it had worn through the cushion of unconsciousness to stir the mind of the man beneath. It took a few minutes and the breaking of another droplet before the correct neurons fired to inform the mind that somewhere a tap was dripping. Granted that the sound could have had some other origin but in the past he had always been a family man and, even now, he associated that noise with fetching his tools to tighten the faucet. It would be shortly after he’d returned from his last tour, not the first night, that was not a night for thinking on chores, but in that first week. He would be lying in bed, the sound of that irritable noise letting him know nightfall was here and it was time to meet frank.

”Tap’s dripping again.” He would say, and his female companion for the night would inform him that it had been that way for the past two hours or so. ”I’ll get right on it in the morning.” He’d assure her and she wouldn’t reply because she knew that he would.

The memories kissed him sweetly and slipped cruelly away, dragging the fragments of slumber slowly with them. The pool of messages delivered by his senses began to trickle in through the ever growing gaps. The dryness in his mouth was first in the queue, a curious thing when all was considered. Had Qilin had precognition he might not have taken the time to suck saliva from his cheeks nor lick his lips. He was informed next of the prickling in his knees, and the cold breeze which whipped across them. It was an automatic response to try and draw them into the warmth that encompassed the rest of his body. Here, however, he encountered a problem in discovering his space was restricted, his back pressed against something smooth and solid, the balls of his feet in the same predicament. This was certainly not his bed. The wash of water as he tried to move only further confirmed this to him.

He noticed that his door was open most likely from the wind. A puddle had formed from the door to the bathroom in which he followed. He would walk into the bathroom and take a long look at himself. Glaring back into the mirror however, he clearly hadn’t taken any bit of this well at all. Sighing, he ran the sink to wash his face and clear up his expression only a little bit. Maybe he would take a while to himself to get himself together after all of this was done with. Giving himself a soft smile he nodded, yeah that would be best, away from everyone, away from his responsibilities as leader, he would just vanish and search himself. He would discover who HE was, who HE wanted to be. There would be no more values, no more Miyagi teachings. It would all revolve around him and whatever plan he had for the future. But to disappear like that, required money, so for now he would stay quiet and collect his dues. Perhaps he would let his fellow students and sensei know he was going to disappear for a while, if only so they wouldn’t wait around for him, considering most knew that he had a way to contact them, it wasn’t strange to think that he could easily let them know he was back and ready to get back to business. And these guys were loyal to a fault, so he didn’t have to worry about some shady shit going on behind the scenes. He would do this last thing for Miyagi and then he would move on with his plans.

He quickly got his things together and prepared to go over into the newly liberated Crane territory. Mr. Miyagi proving that his gym was far more superior should have been the one to take over the territory. However, a local street gang and self-proclaimed dojo named the Dragons had invaded the territory. They were a ruthless bunch attacking Marines, Pirates, and other Dojo’s alike. He was now deep in the Crane territory by the port and main source of income.  Heading down the way, the sky grew dark for a moment just before a large ball of flames suddenly crashed into ground where he once stood. He was already in the process of jumping away, leaping towards the nearby stream line as a Dragon Captain popped over the ledge with a young dragon initiate lad on his heels. Deadpanning at the two he could almost... taste the anger in him as he glared down at his foes, his pure hate of his current circumstances and killing intent causing the man’s tag along to wilt before him. He really didn’t have time for this bullsh*t. The young lad with the Captain noticed his master preparing to attack before kicking into gear himself and began to charge his own techniques and while they weren’t as impressive, he showed great originality and ability to multitask as he was able to cast and charge two different abilities, in his left hand a rather diminished version of his masters fireball, and his right a slowly growing ball of electricity that arced off violently from the cup of his palm.

Qilin was able to barely dodge spinning midair within a small gap between their attacks. The ability to pull off such skills in perfect synch like that suggested that they had been working together for a while. But all he could do now was think of how he planned on breaking every bone in their bodies. Sucking on his teeth to end the current train of thought he was having, his head rose slightly as the sound of approaching footsteps filled the air getting him to turn around in the direction of the four men or was it five men that seemed to approaching from the flank. “LETS GO!” He roared as they surrounded him beckoning for them to come. The first Dragon came down with a horizontal slam with both hands. Qilin ran and did a baseball slide between the legs of two of them dishing a one two combo. The first punch went into the right ankle of the first dragon to get him to buckle under his own weight. The second blow came for the left leg causing the second dragon’s knee to blow out completely. The two fell down, slamming into the ground. The third and fourth of the bunch came suddenly moving at break neck speeds. This wasn't a shocker to him because he moved pretty quickly for how big he was.

Qilin ran between the two causing them to swing their clubs with the same speed as the first.  However, as if this was like some form of game Qilin knew he had to be one step ahead. He rolled forward but turned his body in such a way he would be in a sprinters position. As the clubs slammed the ground Qilin was already on the way to make his move. As the dragon on the left went to pick his club up Qilin used it as a boost to leap into the air. One foot touched the club as he pushed it back down to send him up to head level. The man noticed him and tried to recover faster. It was too late for the adversary. Qilin was right in front of the Dragon's head for a split second before attacking. With a skull splitting punch Qilin sent the man falling down like a large tree. He wasn't dead but with a punch like that in the center of its forehead it was enough to send it down to the ground. The last minor dragon took off in a dead sprint but Qilin picked up the club and launched it at him effortlessly as it clocked him in the back of the head. Now all he had to do was deal with the captain and his apprentice. Qilin ran forward knowing they were going to launch another strike like before yet they were going to correct the small error they had made. He allowed them to launch the attack this time sliding under it he drew his hammer and swung it with all of his might smashing the ribs of the captain causing him to collide with his apprentice and knock him down. As they both hit the floor. Qilin continuously smashed downward with his hammer the apprentice being at his mercy stuck under the weight of the Captain. Qilin would not stop until they were both a lifeless mess on the ground.
