Naga D. Linnea

Pirates

Naga D. Linnea

Task Name: Sticking it to the man
Tier: T1
NPC or PC: PC
Location: Yotsuba Island
Crew, Team, or Personal: Crew
Description: A group of Marines has captured a crew of pirates, and is taking them into the base to jail them. Intercept them and steal the confiscated treasure.
Enemy Details: 5 T0 marines, 2 T1 corporals, 1 T2 Captain
NPC: 5 T0 Captured pirates. They're not your enemies, especially if you release them. You don't have to do so, but it might distract the Marines (facilitating your escape) as well as increase your bounty.
Boss: None

Linnea walked around Yotsuba Island alongside some of her trusted companions. Exploring a marine controlled island was difficult, but the main reason why she became a pirate was so she could explore on her own terms without anyone telling her where she could or couldn't go. It was for this purpose that she shamefully lowered her jolly roger, so the marines wouldn't bother her during her exploration. Sengoku the Southbird scouted from above and patrolled their surroundings, and if that weren't enough Linnea also had her own Kenbunshoku Haki, warning her of any potential hostile intent from the nearby Marines. Hiding her face under the hood did wonders to conceal her identity, and her allies had their own methods. The day was beautiful, the sun was shining through a thin a curtain of clouds... The streets were far from crowded, which only made their exploration more pleasant... But up until now they had yet to find anything even remotely relevant... But then, Linnea heard something:

"JYOOOOO!!", turning towards the Squak, they would see Sengoku the Southbird circling a location. His cry sounded excited and eager, he had likely found something worth seeing and possibly taking. Linnea had grown used to her partner's cries and could often tell his emotions from them.

Linnea immediately gestured towards her partner, signalling her crewmates to go there with a smile on her face, "Whatever we find there, I guarentee it will be worth it. I'll scout ahead and provide cover."

Before long, she had climbed onto the nearest rooftop and travelled along them to find a group of marines dragging along 5 tied up pirates. Among the marines, one of them had a particular stronger aura, and two others were carrying an open crate filled with gold... So that's what drew Sengoku huh. Well, her allies were getting close, so might as well behead this Marine squad. This treasure had been stolen from Pirates, so pirates were claiming it back. Better in the hands of free men and women than filling the coffers of greasy old men. Grabbing her bow and arrow and coating both with Haki, Linnea drew an arrow and took a deep breath...

Her arrow would be the signal for her allies to advance, so she took aim at the Marine captain's lung and let it loose. The arrow silently whizzed through the air before lodging itself on its mark, earning a low, pain filled grunt from the wounded Captain. Without that leadership, his grunts would be disorganized. Such is the price for abandoning your freedom and individual thought...

The dark skinned pirate known as Ike was having a great time on the Melusine with his new crew mates as they laughed and cracked jokes. As the warmth of the suns rays beamed down upon the crew a unsuspected noise could be heard. It was a foreign sound for Ike, “what the hell is that noise” he said as he covered his ears looking for who’s responsible. Suddenly a familiar creature was flying in circles as seemed like it was alerting someone of something. But, this bird was no other than Sengoku the Southbird as he was making his way back from scouting ahead of the group. Naga decided to scout ahead and provide cover but she didn’t want anyone engaging until she gave the signal. “Nick, watch the boat while were gone”, he stated to him as he followed Naga to where he was supposed to stay until the signal shot was fired. Several minutes after Naga had scouted ahead and signaled the others to meet in the certain destination she fired her arrow which struck the Marine Captain’s torso and was immediately incapacitated.

“Yosh, time to go wild!”, Ike yelled eagerly as he finished stretching and started to run towards the group of marines. Ikes right arm started to stretch back as he got closer to the group of Marines, “Gomu Gomu no Pistoru” his arm cocked forward towards one of the unsuspecting Marine Corporals. His fist made contact with the Marines face and lodged him a couple of meters away; he placed his left hand on his right shoulder as his arm safely stretched back. This caused the open crate of gold to fall, and the now alerted Marines started to take action as the grunts began to draw the muskets and the other Corporal unsheathed his sword, “careful he is a devil fruit eater! Capture that pirate!”, the corporal commanded as his men started to take aim. “The names Ike D. Souji and that won’t work against me”, he smirked confidently as he started to charge at the grunts ignoring the other Corporal.

Much to her surprise, Nicky didn't come along on this one, instead Ike came to fight unaided, something which if not for his Devil Fruit may have actually worried Linnea. The man did know his way around Martial arts and his fruit made him more than capable of holding his own especially against unwitting opponents, but then again the same could be said for Nicky and he got by just fine... Her Haki allowed her to keep track of just about every foe Ike was facing, and smirked as she saw how he exploited the element of surprise, revealing his Devil Fruit ability with a surprise punch to the face that knocked out one of the Marine Corporals, "Not bad at all..."

The Marines were now primed on Gum Gum eater, yet they were also painfully aware of the sniper hiding somewhere along the rooftops. The Corporal in particular was being exceedingly careful with not poking his head unto anything dangerous, and Linnea was just about to consider using Haki to pierce through cover, but alas she had an unexpected help in the form of a big beaked violet bird who plummeted down from the sky to peck at the careful, unwitting Marine's head

Sengoku wasn't a combat animal and he didn't so much hurt the enemy as he annoyed it, distracting the sword wielding corporal who chased after the bird in a rage. That moment of distraction coaxed him out of cover, and his fate was sealed: Her realized his mistake all too late, looking visibly worried and quickly pivoting on his foot to head back into cover, but to no avail. Linnea had already nocked an arrow and let it loose, intercepting him mid dash and pinning him to a wall, impaled through the chest. He probably wouldn't die from this unless he squirmed too much. She promptly ducked back under cover as a hail of bullets flew her way, silently thanking her feathery friend, "Thank you, partner.", she grinned at Sengoku's help, turning back to Ike.

He was hanging in there rather nicely, but at this point most of the marines realized their guns were useless, and three of them charged at him with swords! Thus Linnea prepared yet another arrow...

Ike quickly glanced over to see Sengoku helping out by distracting the Corporal, and just as he pivot trying to run back to cover it was to late for him. Just as quickly Ike turned his attention back to the grunts as a couple of them replaced their muskets with swords. “Die!”, the marine grunt roared as he swung at Ike, but to his disappointment the only thing he would cut would be thin air. The young pirate quickly evaded his attack and delivered a powerful kick to the gut of the grunt which caused him to groan loudly, but that was instantly silenced with a right hook to the face. The first grunt was made short work of as he laid motionless on the floor as the other two grunts continued their charge. Ike charged back as he stopped on his left as his right leg was going in kick motion. Suddenly Ike’s right leg stretched outwards about couple of feet whipping the grunts that dared charge the powerful gum-gum eater.

Now they were only two marine grunts left and they looked very terrified as Ike and Naga made short work of them. “Freeze your under arrest!”, they shouted him as their legs were constantly shaking in fear to what happened to their comrades. The young pirate started to dust himself as he slowly walked towards them, “I don’t feel under arrest” he chuckled loudly with is signature goofy smile. As he got closer their guns were aimed and ready to fire, ”we mean it!” they yelled louder as they had their fingers on the triggers. “Are guys idiots?”, he asked harmlessly because it was obvious it wouldn’t work but to their demise the open fired on the rubber pirate. Unfortunately the bullets reflected off Ike’s skin and towards the marines incapacitating the last two grunts, “I win!” he yelled in excitement as he jumped in celebration.

Even though Linnea prepared yet another arrow, there wasn't really any need for it. She watched wide eyed as her shipwright displayed a rather impressive aptitude for melee combat. No doubt, just a bit of training would be enough for him to het by in the threatening Grand Line. One by one he took oht all of the remaining marines in a way such he didn't even need Linnea`s help. She wound up letting him take care of the remaining foes all by himself. Wow... Two of them were eve dumb enough to attempt shooting yet again, and wound up shot by their own bullets..
She might even chuckle but then she wasn't the kind of person to laugh at another`s misery.

But what to do with those pirates they had in custody? She didn't know what kind of people they were but then if they were the really nasty kind the marines would all they could to recapture them. Linnea even heard on her black den den mushi, more marines were coming to their aid!How troublesome... Without a second thought, she dropped down from her snipers nest:

"Take care of the treasure Ike! Ill release these guys and buy us some time... Take that alley!", urged Lin, heading to cut the five men loose.

She would release the five thankful pirates before following Ike down his safe alley and helping him carry tbe treasure back to the ship. Surprisingly, they didn't look too worried by the loss of their treasure, too grateful from being saved to worry about carrying that load. She alerted them where the most nearby marines were clustered.

Re-activated B rank Haki (stamina 10/50)

Finally all the marines have been taken care of and the treasure was now in their possession, but the biggest problem is what to do with the marines. His captain quickly scaled down from her sniping nest and asked if he could carry the gold while she cut the pirates loose. At least that solves the problem of what to do with them, but Ike could hear muffle noises of what sounds like a den den mushi about sending back up. However, Naga quickly diverted Ikes attention to the big container of treasure that was left unguarded, “No problem” he replied with a smile as he jogged over to the container of treasure. He was able to lift with little to no effort as he made his way through the alleyway that she pointed out to him to take.

The teenage pirate quickly turned back to see what had happened with the pirates that were just untied; he was ready to kick more ass if they dare threaten her. Luckily for the pirates they were being very corporative as they ran in the opposite direction of them. Naga and Sengoku swiftly caught up to Ike as Naga assisted him with carrying the treasure; even though it wasn’t really necessary. They two were literally by the docks as they were being chased by Marines, “START HER UP WERE MOVING OUT!” Ike shouted as they finally boarded the Melusine. Just as they quickly boarded the ship was already off the docks and moving into open waters and away from their pursuers.
