Are you really ready for the GL?!? [Open Haki training] K1ex

There the Goliath was sitting on a small stool, a crudely made sign in front of him. The sign purposely made like that, just cause he thought it would be a bit funny. Why Cappadonna was sitting there was simply because of the flyers he had posted up all around Mock Town. Currently he was in an open area around twenty meters of free space all around.

The Flyer Read:

'To all it may concern,

You aren't as strong as you think you are, as you are just a hatchling chirping about. Within this world there are many foes that will crush you as if you are nothing but an insignificant bug, but I can help you. I can show you who you really are. I can show you if you are an King destined for greatness, or a dormant God. Or you just have the aptitude for powerful abilities, but come just so shy of those titles. Don't take this as any disrespect though, young one. But if you want to challenge me, go ahead. But to not hold any mystery to what I teach I will tell you. It is Haki. I am at the open lot by Old Jim's Warehouse.

Love, Cappadonna. ❤ '

His Flyer was strange but the purpose of it was something dear to him. As, Cappadonna needed to speak with someone soon. And the only way to do so is to summon them in one worst ways possible. But, before he does that he needs to get some people ready. It didn't matter who as they would be thrown into the fire anyway, and when they are he wants to not leave them too defenseless. Also, he wanted to see the current generation, or at least some that were in this Town.

Also, on the sign was a Bounty poster. The most current one of Cappadonna, with his new look. How he got his Bounty poster got updated so quick, was because of what happened a week ago. But, that is a passed story and doesn't need to be talked about.

"Maybe, I should charge these people. Nah. I already plan to get them in a bunch of trouble, so this is enough to repay that debt. I do hope a lot come, two would be a waste of time." Cappadonna would think to himself as he sat there. He did also plan to tell whoever came what he planned to do, but only after they learned Haki. Well, if they were able to learn it.

"Ouchie ouchie" The young pirate Jade said as he was wrapping his bruised cover hand up with some bandages he managed to get from someone in the hotel lobby. He had hurt himself trying to get stronger and stronger for himself and for his crew, Jade knew that he didn't want to lag behind Mavis and cap'n Junbei. He said relief as he finished bandaging himself up. The young man decided that he needed a milkshake after his efforts and headed to a near by pub that he loved his milkshakes from. It didn't take him long to get there from his hotel and he sat up close to the front near a wall that had a large amount of flyers posted on it. After ordering his chocolate milkshake he decided to look at the wall, seeing if anything on there was worth it, but he found a really interesting flyer.

To all it may concern,

"I do need to get stronger and this Haki does sound interesting" Jade said to himself just as his milkshake came. He quickly dunk it, giving himself a killer brain freeze, and got up rushing off to old Jim's warehouse. He hoped this was something that he had to pay for or a trap, he really needed ways to get as strong as possible with the intent to found out what he is really made of.

"This should be real fun!" Jade said smiling as he was running. He knew that this might be some crazy adventure and that this power, if its what it is suppose to be, will be hard to obtain. However he didn't care at all, he knew what he wanted, and nothing was going to stop him for getting it. After ten minutes he finally arrived to old jim's warehouse looking for this "Cappadonna", which sounded very girlish to Jade but he didn't want to judge just yet. "Hello?" he shouted as he looked around.

What drew Junbei to the flyers plastered across Mock Town was neither the taunts of it's author or the ominous wording it was the one word which had been on his mind since his fight with Kipp, 'Haki'. Humming a chipper tune, his mood changed instantly as he read the poster. Kipp taunted him, stating that he was cocky and it was this Haki that had manage to strike him in their conflicts. Based on his information on Logia's, nothing should be able to strike him in his intangible state but his ignorance was something he constantly worked to erase. "Cappadonna... That name-" Junbei thought as he looked at the flyer his eyes diverted to the wanted poster directly plastered next to them. Simply whistling, the man examined as the multiple zeroes behind the man's wanted poster made his bounty look like shit. Literally sewage in comparison. Grinning, "I don't know about all this God talk but I'm definitely a devil looking to learn a few more tricks." Junbei said, picking up his suitcase which vessel his partner.

Old Jin's Warehouse was a crooked old thing, it safely tucked away in downtown Mock Town, secluded among several smithry's and ghettoes. Which made the culmination of blood, faeces and smoke the components for an aroma that was nothing less than pleasant. As he approached the pathway towards the building which was about ten meters, you could say away, as he could clearly see it in the distance, several pirates, bounty hunters and merchants alike stood by the Inn's entrance of what seemed to be an open lot. "It pays to be famous I guess." Junbei thought. Walking to the back of the pack of men, "Cappadonna! Today is the end! What's this bullshit about Haki huh!?" a bounty hunter screamed. "A murderer like you a teacher!" another bounty hunter shouted screaming wth much pride. Distancing himself slightly from the pack, Junbei pressed onto an old food cart, which was several inches away from the mob, examining the lot. "Could you lot keep it down a bit, my ears are kind of sensitive?" Junbei said spitting onto the ground cleaning his ears with his index finger. Approaching from the path he just walked was Jade, "I think at this point we're all here to meet Cappa." Junbei said shooting Jade a wink from his current position behind the mob.

Cyrus had seen the flyer for Haki training and immediately ripped it from the side of the building it had been placed. Truthfully he was more interested in this Cappadonna fellow than the Haki training itself, but it never hurt to get an all powerful ability unlocked. As Cyrus strode through the streets of Mock Town, he kept his face pressed into the flyer, reading it over and over again. Something about the name Cappadonna was bothering him. He seemed familiar somehow, possibly whisperings among the other Revolutionaries. Cyrus whistled as he eyed the bounty of this particular fellow and was amazed to find that with a bounty so high he had never actually heard of this man, at least not in a way that he could remember. Navigating the streets of Mock Town in search of an old, dusty warehouse lot was hard enough, but when you're not using your eyes and instead just tapping along with your cane while you read...well its damn near impossible. By some miracle however, Cyrus had stumbled across a relatively large crowd of people gathered and yelling at a lone man who sat within the abandoned lot.

Up on tip toes to see over the crowd, Cyrus first looked at the man, then the poster. Back to the man, then the poster, man, poster, man, poster. Huh...that must be him then. Another man in front of Cyrus turned to look at him as if to say, "No shit, sherlock." but Cyrus paid him no mind. Instead he scanned the crowd only to stop on the back of an auburn head. No way, boy he's in for a surprise. Cyrus said, chuckling to himself as he pushed aside the gathered bounty hunters and pirates to where Junbei was standing. Honestly Junbei, we really must stop meeting like this. He said, tapping the boy lightly on the shoulder with his cane. Is this a friend of yours? Pleasure, my name's Cyrus. I'm sure Junbei has told you all about me. He said, extending his hand to Jade as a formality. So, what's all the hubub?

Cappadonna would extend his Haki outward once the crow started to amass. Not because he felt he was in any form of danger, but because he wanted to know how many were around and also who would even be able to learn. Many of these guys though seemed to want his head, which was troublesome. But, he had a plan to deal with those who didn't come here to learn and also those that would just be wasting thier time. The Goliath would stand to his feet, "I'm glad so many of you kiddies came out." He would then grab a stick and draw a line, about the length of his body, and then sit back down on his stool.

"Many of you came here for different reason though, from what you are saying. Maybe to capture me, or learn haki. Hopefully it is the latter. But, I sadly only see a few that are willing to learn Haki and also able to utilize it. So we are going to do this." Cappadonna would begin to rub the back of his head. He would then turn his attention upward to the beam sun, and then begin to speak again.

"From what I've counted there are thirty of you. So, you lot will have to fight each other. To death or simply into submission, I don't care.  I say around four or sxi of you will need to be left standing for me to begin the lessons on Haki. But, for those, Bounty Hunters, that don't wish to learn Haki I will come with you. Yup, without fighting you here in Mock town. You can tie me up as tight as you want, I won't resist. But, for the bounty hunters only one of you can have me. So if you want my head everyone else must be down for the count. And finally, if anyone crosses this line I made during the fight I will kill you. Simple as that, I will kill you. So be cautious of that. "

Cappadonna wouldn't face them, but keep his attention up at the sky. If he needed to move at all when he spoke he would do whatever he would be able to. If someone attacked him afterwards he would also do what he would have to do. Though, he barely put his eyes on them he would not be left open, he just wanted to give the impression that he was.

ooc: I'm just asking for the PCs to beat up the fodder. Don't want you guys to fight each other, unless you REALLY want to.

"You little shit you think we'll all just comply with orders!?" a pirate announced walking towards the open lot approaching the line. Grinning, Junbei dashed through the crowd, using his Oto Oto No Mi abilities, lashing the man in his face with his tonfa's cannonball like fixture. The force of the strike sent the bounty flying backwards into the pack. Standing vertically, his eyes fixed on the crowd, Junbei rested his tonfa on his shoulder. "Gishishi... To be honest... It's not exactly very advantageous for me to be hanging around bounty hunters either." Junbei said laughing, making a general statement not really referring to anyone. Shifting weight into his left foot, Junbei dashed into the pack of mercenaries and Haki enthusiast alike sending their bodies flying from the touch of his titanium steel against their flesh.

It appeared to be blur among the average eyes but within seconds Junbei was able to take out ten of the men without even breaking a sweat. "I could use my sound waves but eh... I'm not that proficient to protect Cappa and Cyrus without the chance of deafening them." Junbei thought to himself sticking out his tongue. "Oi! Cyrus! For old times sake, wanna see how many of these guys we can take out before the times up. Aside from the black haired one, he's my nakama. I think three of us should be a small enough session." Junbei declared waiting for the man's response, as he smashed his tonfa into another assailant's face. Keeping note of the line, Junbei sent the men flying in the opposite direction, away from Cappadonna's position just so things don't get too messy.

A few of the men scattered running away, "I didn't sign up for this! The Revolutionary's Reaper and that damn Redheaded Song Bird! Fuck this! If Cappadonna get's involved where all dead!" an older gentleman announced running away from the pack towards a nearby alleyway.

Cyrus watched Cappadonna draw the line in the dirt and smirked as he noticed an unexplained hush had fallen over the crowd who, just moments before, had been yelling out profanities and threats of murder. It seemed this man knew how to command an audience. Cyrus listened patiently as Cappadonna explained his intentions to weed out the small fry and find the big fish. He couldn't help but respect the man, he seemed to know how to get things done quick. Sighing, Cyrus pulled out a flask from inside his jacket and drank a generous gulp of heavy liquor before capping the flask and returning it to his jacket. Ah, a good ole fight to the death, my favorite. Cyrus said, looking around at the various people gathered. It was taking a moment for Cappadonna's words to sink in with everyone. Everyone except one it seemed, as Cyrus watched a bounty hunter sprint towards Cappadonna. Cyrus raised an eyebrow in curiosity, wondering just what this idiot hoped to accomplish. Unfortunately he never got to find out as his friend Junbei suddenly appeared in front of the man, bashing his face in with one of his trusty tonfa.

The man's limp body slid through the dirt and landed just a few feet away from Cyrus himself. He looked at the man, who's nose was fountaining blood across the rest of his face and smiled, Tch, show off. You're on. He called back to Junbei. Although few would notice it, considering it was translucent save for the faint cerulean glow at its very edges, a dome would appear around the majority of the crowd as Cyrus began to swing his sword, lopping off the heads of just about everyone around him. As he did so he whistled a sweet tune, it might have even been something Junbei had played once. Regardless, heads fell at his feet as his blade swung through them, sometimes not even touching the person's neck at all. When he was done, the dome closed and Cyrus was left holding a single head by the hair, Hey there. He said with a grin as he held the head up to eye level. The head spoke back to him through an intricate code of profanities and racial slurs but Cyrus paid him no mind as he simply tossed the head lightly towards Cappadonna, letting it land and rollin the dirt across the line. Hey! That guy crossed the line! Cyrus said, pointing accusingly at the head.

The rest of the unworthy bunch would flee, and there would be only two left. 'I didn't expect just two, but whatever.' Cappadonna would think to himself as he would turn his gaze away from the sky and down to a talking head, which caught him off guard at first. He would reach down and pick the head up, someone did point out that this guy crossed the line. But, could he already kill what he thought was already dead. This was truly strange as he had never come across something like this before, "Maybe if I do this." Cappadonna would say as he would use his other hand to cover the mouth and nose of the head. He would do this for a bit of time and when he would remove his hand the head didn't talk anymore, and it was just a head. Tossing it behind him he would begin to speak.

"I guess my guess was wrong, only two of you really had in in you. So, without haste let us begin." Cappadonna would mess up his line that he made, just to show that it didn't mean anything anymore. "So, tell me what you all know about Haki. And maybe a bit of who you are." He would say as he would reach for his stick and begin to right into the ground. He wasn't making a line, or even a circle, he was writing words and thier meaning next to them in parentheses. He would right three beside each other. First he would start with Mantra/Kenbunshoku (Observation), Second he would put Busoshoku(Defense), & Haoshoku(Willpower).

After they would answer his questions he would speak again. Unless they, or someone else, tried to attack him then he would act accordingly. "Many know me as Cappadonna, but my name is Daniels Bloom. I've know how to utilize Haki, most of my life. Though I only posses one type, I am special. No, I am considered a God at the Haki I posses. So, that will be the first Haki I teach you. The Haki which I posses is Kenbunshoku, or Observation Haki. My teach though referred to it as Mantra, and I will do the same during this teaching of you two. " As he spoke he looked at them and point to Mantra written out.

As the remainder of bounty hunters and enthusiast escaped, Junbei's eyes kept attentively plastered on Cappadonna. Turning to Cyrus, "I guess we scared them off. I guess this Haki thing didn't mean much to them." Junbei said towards Cyrus. As Cappodonna reached around his seated position,he'd see that the man took up the same stick he'd drawn the line with. The man had inquired about their current knowledge of Haki and a rundown of who they were. "As for this 'Haki' thing, I'm not actually sure what it is. I was fighting this guy named Kipp, I tried to use my Devil Fruit to like... ugh... Woosh the attack through me but it ripped me apart." Junbei tried to explain using his hands for gestures as annotations for the conflict. Shifting his shirt jack, Junbei revealed the scar he'd gotten from Kipp. "It was weird. Before using my abilities I'm able to avoid strikes but it was like I was the blade was pulling against my skin." Junbei tried to explain his best but he noticed he was rambling on. "As for who I am, I'm just a struggling musician. Junbei Von Echo." Junbei said grinning, resting his idle tonfa into his holster.

As Junbei rambled on, he noticed Cappadonna had written several words into the dirt with the stick. 'Busoshoku', 'Kenbunshoku' and 'Haoshoku', tilting his head to a side, he was completely confused. Furthermore, each had annotations next to them, Observation, Defense and Willpower. "Eh... I knew I should've paid more attention in English and Kanji" Junbei thought to himself puzzled. Cappadonna mentioned he was godly skilled in Observation, though, he had yet to understand exactly what Haki was, what he got from the explanation is, 1: Not everyone has all three. 2: I hope he had the one Cappadonna did, since it's close to home for him in comfort. 3: How in the world did any of this manage to allow a person to strike a Logia user in his tangible state? Junbei simply kept the questions to himself, as the man had just started explaining so he would thrive in his confusion a bit longer. He'd only exclaim, "Kenbunshoku... Mantra... Alright, I'm ready." Junbei exclaimed calmly, focusing carefully for the man's instructions.

Cyrus watched the others scatter and then turned to Cappadonna in time to see him toss the lifeless head over his shoulder. He was beginning to like this guy. Retrieving his flask from his coat pocket once more, he took a hearty swig before tucking it away. Hmmm Haki, can't say I have as much first hand experience as the kid does over here. Cyrus said, pointing with his thumb at Junbei's scar, Though I did notice a few wonky things going on during my short stint in the Red Line. I've also heard rumors floating around some of the Revs. I think the B one lets you harden your skin and the one with the K, that's like a sixth sense or something, right? Or maybe it's the other way around. Regardless I've never heard of this Haoshoku thing. Mentioning the Battle of the Red Line brought a stark realization to the forefront of his mind...it seemed so long ago and yet he remembered it clear as day.

Cyrus looked over the three dirt words and frowned before realizing there had been another part to Cappadonna's instructions, Ah right of course, the name's Cyrus Kincaid. How'd you do? He said, removing his top hat and giving the larger man a slight bow at the waste. The kid and I are already well acquainted. So what's first? We have to extend our minds or something? Meditate? I have to warn you, I'm not much for meditation...or sitting still for all that long. Cyrus blabbed before realizing he was the only one talking, and he was doing quite a bit of it. He did this sometimes when he was a bit nervous. Cyrus didn't like not knowing things, especially when other people knew things he didn't and this Daniels Bloom seemed to know quite a bit more about Haki than Cyrus himself.

Cappadonna would listen very closely to each word these young men would tell him, soaking it all in. He will wait just a few minutes, around five, before he would give them a response. The first one, Junbei, from what he said was an Logia type. Since he tried to let an attack faze through him. Or he had some special Paramecia or Zoan fruit that allowed this, but Cappadonna would just guess it was a Logia.

"Junbei you are an Logia type right? If so you shouldn't rely too heavy on your Devil fruit that much, as those with Haki, will exploit that. What your main focus should be on with Haki is Mantra and Busoshoku. Mantra, so that you can react quickly so that you can allow attacks that come at you, from either from the front unexpectedly or from your blind spot. Busoshoku Haki allows fighters to touch types like you, and your best bet to counter that is to cover yourself in it. Busoshoku nullifies all types of devil fruits. " As he spoke he would look Junbei in the face, as this was the man he was talking to first. Out of the two he didn't have that much knowledge of what Haki was, so he needed to be told first.

"Mr.Kincaid. I hope you were paying attention to what I said. Whether you are a dEvil fruit user or not using Haki serves as both good offense and defense when it come to combat. Or even scoping your area." He would turn his attention over to Kincaid. "For learning Mantra you both will do what I did to learn, and that is dodge. So, turn around. Take in deep breathes and prepare yourself. " After they would do that is only when Cappadonna would continue to speak. And also pick up two pebbles, one for each hand, and begin to put a distance of five meters between them.

"Like I said the first Haki will will practice is mantra. Like you said Mr.Kincaid Mantra, or Kenbunshoku, is like a sixth sense. But, when you delve deeper into it serves as much more. So, close your eyes and try to feel everyone around you. In my hands I have pebbles. Try to use JUST your minds eye to predict when I will throw them, and visualize the damage. Once you guys are able to evade these with just using Haki, we will move on to large objects. And then on to the next form of Haki. So, please get ready. As it will hurt a bit." Cappadonna had already launched the two pebbles when he uttered the word 'please'. he didn't throw them his hardest or fasted but put enough force on them that they will feel a bit of prick in the back of thier head if they weren't able to dodge.

"Using my senses to predict the attack so can move completely away from the strike in time huh..." Junbei responded, making firm eye-contact with Cappadonna as he gave his analysis of his fight with Kipp. "So I'm guessing he used this Busoshoku thing to strike me... Kind of materialised my sound form into a hold again." Junbei thought. "Damn. This Haki thing is pretty useful." Junbei exclaimed, astonished that he knew nothing of it's existence prior. "If this is common knowledge to a big name like Cappadonna, that means almost everyone whose anyone on these seas must have similar abilities... I need to get up to speed fast." Junbei said clutching his fist. "Don't rely too much on my Logia... Got it." Junbei said affirmatively.

Turning around as instructed by Cappadonna, Junbei felt quite uneasy about the situation. He'd just met this man and to drop his guard and let strangers back him was definitely against his normal comfort zone but Cappadonna was the expert on his 'Mantra' thing and he was nothing but a mere beginner at this point. He'd remember the times when he first was learning to play piano and how frustrating it'd be as he bang against the keys with no tact or every hit the wrong key in the chord progressions. As Junbei continued to zero into the man's instructions about 'Mind's Eye' and visualising everyone around him, he'd wonder if this was even possible. However, fading his mind way from the negativity, he paused focusing in on the sounds at first. "No no... Using my Oto Oto would be counterproductive... Focus.." Junbei said disregarding his sense of hearing for this exercise.

Imagining Cappadonna's face, body and mass, Junbei tried to draw a picture of his surroundings. With his eyes closed and backing the lot, Junbei envisioned a blurry figurine which represented Cyrus in his mind. Focusing even deeper, he'd imagine Cappadonna moving further and further away from him, however, it was blurry and his position wasn't precise down to the tee. Nonetheless, the man's words about trying to use their minds eye to dodge the pebbles came into range of his hearing. Falling deeper into concentration, the blob of blue aura that was now about five meters away, picked up two smaller blue signatures. "Wait, is this imagining in his head Mantra?" Junbei thought. In an instant, two smaller signatures came flying towards Junbei at a relatively haste speed. "He didn't even say go- That's not the point focus!" Junbei thought in a split second. "One's heading towards Cyrus it seems... The other is... coming towards-" Junbei's thought concluded, as he side stepped to the side, his eyes still firmly closed as the pebble glided a few inches from his head. Opening his eyes, the pebble fell a few meters away from his feet.

"Did I just dodge that using 'mantra'?" Junbei uttered to himself. "It wasn't my sound... It was like I had a picture in my head of everyone, it's pretty fuzzy but as the rocks got closer, especially the one heading towards me... it became brighter." Junbei exclaimed, looking back at Cappadonna in disbelief.

OOC: Sorry for the delay, was busy with the holiday yesterday. Also I just want to be clear that I don't like the idea of people just being able to do things first try but for the sake of getting this topic done, I'ma do it.

Cyrus raised his eyebrow in surprise curiosity. Just about every instinct he had said never to turn your back to someone, even if they claimed they were teaching you Haki. Regardless, Cyrus did as he was told, shrugging but slowly turning around and closing his eyes. Honestly it was probably this hesitation and weariness of Cappadonna's intentions that helped Cyrus tap into his Kenbunshoku Haki in the moment. With his eyes closed, Cyrus began to rely on his other senses to tell him what was going on. Sound and even smell were key in trying to place when and where the pebble would be coming from. Unfortunately he quickly realized that he couldn't rely on these senses if he wanted to tap into Haki, which was a sense in it of itself. Okay, okay think. Clear your mind... He said to himself, trying to turn off his various other senses and become numb to the world. As he did so he could hear Cappadonna behind him still talking to the two of them.

Then, out of nowhere, a pulse of light seemed to trigger in his mind. As if bathing the surrounding area in a blue aura, a pulse of energy went out from where he was standing and Cyrus could make out Junbei's form, Cappadonna's form, the pebbles, even the pebbles on the ground that Cappadonna had not picked up. For an instant, everything was crystal clear and that instant was just enough to see the flight path of the pebble Cappadonna had thrown his way. Ever so slightly Cyrus tilted his head to the left as the pebble zoomed past his ear nearly cutting the tip but flying by harmlessly instead. Opening his eyes Cyrus blinked as he watched the pebble land harmlessly in front of him. He was in stunned silence before opening his jacket pocket and pulling out his flask, I really need to drink less. He said to himself before downing another long swig of burning alcohol.

"Well, now don't we have a few prodigies." Cappadonna would mumble to himself as he would witness both of them dodge the pebble, not expecting them to do it on the first try. So, further teaching will really not be needed, as they could just practice to improve. So, instead of going super in depth and having them practice one type over and over while he was there he would just move on to the next when they understood the basics and do it a little; they could train themselves to grow in haki better than he could.

"Well, since you guys got that the next form of Haki is Busoshoku. But, I can not give you a demonstration of it. I will just explain to you what you will need to do. For you Logia when you are in a jam and someone uses Haki, you can use Mantra to get out of the way. But, you can also counter thier haki with your own. All you needed to do, I'm talking to you to Mr. Kincaid, is to manifest your willpower and life force as armor. When you two do this by yourselves you may not be able to cover your whole body, but just a small piece. But with more practice you will be able to do more and more. Just like with Mantra. All it takes to learn Haki is the first the natural born ability, and second the drive to master what you were born with." Cappadonna would tell them, as that was what he was told. It wasn't the best teaching and it would be heard, but in the end it would pay off.
