Eye half opened from the dust of the debris at the chambers basement, Junbei crawled over to the Poneglyph, removing the trumpet from the stone slab. Limping his way to stance, the man’s lips pressed against its mouthpiece. As the man blew into the instrument, on the fingers buttons musical notes scuttled around the chamber, causing the ruins to glow a bright gold, within moments, the sound of the trumpet had reached the outskirts of the chamber, surging outwards to God’s Shrine, Shandia Camp, Upper Yard and finally Angel Island. As the noise increased in volume, the tune of the trumpet began make the rubbles surrounding the Shandia ruins to be stored, repairing it to it’s original glory. The damage to God’s Shrine, Angel Island and various other areas the Songbird’s had ravished instantly, faded, wounds on every warrior, dead and alive restored. Unbeknownst to Junbei, this trumpet was an Ancient Weapon, passed on through generation of Skypiea Natives, in times of War to restore fertility to the land and the people but it’s curse was rare and only afflicted those who didn’t have cursed hands. In the Wingless Camp, Ivan and his men emerged from their eternal sleep that was death, hands trembling from the visions of the underworld. On Angel Island, Lena’s body which was buried on Angel Cove, stuck out from the coast.
“Soru.” the woman announced grinning, using a modified version of the foot technique with her wings, closing the distance of 1KM in a matter of minutes. Flickering to the bottom levels of the Ruins, this time switching her Soru to her feet, as she touch down on the ground at the entrance of the ruins. The woman, dressed in her black and white pants suit, appeared before the Poneglyph. Within moments, she was standing next to Junbei, who’d just finished completing the song. The Songbird’s eyes open widely, his eyes welling up with tears at the sight before him, he froze, dropping the trumpet onto the ground instantly. Everything on the male’s body began to shake, to levels far beyond anything he’d ever experienced before, memories of the night of her murder came flickering back into his brain. “Isabella.” Junbei said, sniffling with tears in his eyes, wanting to move to embrace her but so many emotions overwhelmed the male, even if his mind wanted to move, his body spoke otherwise. Taking off her fedora, the woman revealed her Sky Blue eyes, “It’s been awhile, Jun Jun.” Isabella said smiling. “It’s been a long road… Congratulations for surviving this long. Honestly, when I heard you’d become a pirate, I thought you’d forgotten all about me.” Isabella exclaimed smiling. “I could never forget you Izzy! I became a pirate for you... After you died I had to live on... but how are you here!? DID THE TRUMPET BRING YOU BACK!?” Junbei shouted, running towards the woman in embrace. “Shigan - Music Pick” Isabella declared, plastering Junbei’s body with several wind flickers.
As the Songbird’s body touched the ground, shocked from the unknown grounds for the attack, the woman advanced retrieving the trumpet from the ground, looking down into the male’s eyes. “Ugh…” the woman said scratching her head. “Hearing you call me Izzy made me get all emotional again. Spending all those years undercover in that Hell Hole to spy on Derous was exhausting. I was still in the Cipher Pol 1 at the time, those missions sucked. However, when the World Government approached me to spark conflicts among my people… At first, I was appalled. Then, I knew it was needed. My people, the Birkan and the Shandia were once at war… and our governments sprung from corrupt soldiers calling themselves God. Yes, the World Government has its flaws but look at the state of Skypiea now Jun Jun… Is this really what they want to continue, hunting humans… flies killing flies, how cute.” Isabella announced.
“That’s why I had a plan. A young, impressionable and angry child with the voice of an Angel abandoned by the Lovechild Family, only to be sold into slavery. The chances of us meeting was one in a million, no, I’ve been calculating the odds over the years, in a billion. It was then I sparked the plan… I’d use Base #45 ultimate project as a tool to destroy my hometown but first I had to give you your voice back, then I had to give you someone to love. After that, I took it from you and watch you break into a spiral.” the woman said, raising her boot into the air, before smashing it playfully into Junbei’s cheek, smooshing the man’s face into the ground.
“Does it hurt Auburn Songbird!? Do you get it yet!? You were my pawn all along. You transformed into a beautiful Knight. I used your affections for me and your rise to fame to lead you here to Skypiea… Do you know what the text on that Poneglyph reads… I’ll paraphrase it for you. ‘Only a Lovechild of Chipper Heart will cull wounds of a damage heard. Once he plays the tune, his yolk will charge the surge for mortal man to use'.” Isabella said, crushing her foot further into Junbei’s jaw.
“Argh!” Junbei shouted out, his mind snapped as all of the pieces fall into place. The man began to weep uncontrollably into the dirt of the chamber. “Simply put… I needed your DNA to activate this Cursed Weapon… which was secretly an Ancient Weapon. The Seven Instruments I got you so excited about, of the other six, this was the only one that had a special condition. I used you to get what I wanted you orphan brat.” Izzy stated. Entering into his intangibility state, the man rose about to slam his tonfa into the woman’s jaw, drawing his Blitz Stick from his holster quickly in a rage but the man froze once more.
“You can’t hit me can you. I mean too much to you right? Junbei. Remember those nights you used to be afraid of Thunderstorms and we’d lie cuddled next to each other until morning, at least until the jailers came back on call.” Isabella said callously. “Shut up!” Junbei shouted. “Hey Hey… Does it hurt Junbei… Did you know my name isn’t even Isabella! What kind of stupid name is that anyway!?” the woman began to laugh flapping her wings in amusement. Dropping to his knees, the man’s head rested on her waist. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m a pretty messed up person kid. I actually take pleasure in these moments. See. I’m not even going to kill you. That’s the easy part. I think good pawns should gain a reward after a long seven years of work, Supernova Junbei Polaris Von Echo Lovechild… or something… your names so long if we add in your two identities.” Isabella said, slightly tilting head to side in a pondering motion.
Mushing her hand against his face, the woman pushed the child onto the floor, feeling the gunk of the snot and tears that now plastered the Songbird's face. Junbei’s eyes had no life in them, no purpose to fight, no purpose to live. He’d lie in the bottom of the ruins, several stories below the surface, motionless. As the woman turned to walk away, “Oh by the way… Stop calling me Izzy… I hate that alias. My name is Eris. Laverna Eris. Since the age of five, I’ve been working for the Cipher Pol. The Isabella you know was a personality I constructed for the mission… so if you decide to live… Loose the Isabella… Izzy nonsense… your believing in a lie.” Isabella concluded.
“Soru.” the woman uttered before disappearing. Emerging from the shadows, further down in the chamber, a portal opened. A man in a tophat stuck his head out, glaring creepily into darkness. “Did you really have to tell him all of that Eris?” Juego inquired, not making eye contact with the woman but extending his arm outwards in hopes of touching hers. “I just can’t leave wounded animals… I have the need to put them out of their misery and crush them.” Eris stated. “Meanie. Shall we?” the man moved on quickly, “Back to our home.” Eris uttered grinning, the man’s Phase Phase fruit powers, scooped the woman as they retreated into the shadows.
