For most of the travel time, Daenys was getting use to her surroundings; first and foremost of her it was the kitchen on the ship. It was simple, nothing to flashy or anything and that’s exactly how she liked it, nothing to flashy but at the same time large enough for her not to feel stuffy in a confined space… Her second area of the ship was the living quarters, for her it was where she was going to sleep, and have most of her things, while the other half of her things, such as cooking supplies; would be left in the kitchen. She had a nice time for the first hour on the ship, it wasn’t hard on her stomach as she thought, her first time riding on the ocean was rough, a long lived dream of hers, and when it finally happened, she ended up getting sea sick. But this time around it was easy and simple, nothing she thought it was going to be at all. After getting use to where everything kind of was, she went back to the living quarters, no one was around as most of them were up top, she took the time to change and cook up three pies for the crew members who were working up top, she wasn’t sure what all of them were like, she had chosen to wait to meet them until she had changed and baked a little something up for them… But she remembered some of their names… But she wasn’t going to talk to them first, she knew who Junbei was exactly, and would wait to be introduced when she went up topside.
Changing was fast this time around for Daenys, she was terrified of someone coming down and seeing her, of course she should have known better, but never the less she was fast about it, she took out a simple pair of shorts, black in color with long tassels hanging off each side, the shorts would reach just below her belly button, and the shirt she grabbed was a cropped lace top with a mock neck and a fitted silhouette with bell sleeves, it too was also black in color, however the underpart of the lace was a white silk sheer, ensuring it wasn’t as see-through as it sounded. After that she grabbed her black pair of stiletto boots that laced up, they reached the lower calf part of her leg. With all of these she grabbed a single black choker that had little white diamonds hanging off of it and placed it around her neck, as normal her hair would be placed up in a partial braid to keep it out of her face, but flowing in the back. Along with her normal hair, a simple pinkish topped with a glitzy purple and iridescent blue glitter pigment to make them stand out just enough, her eye makeup was different shades of pink, and a simple but small line of glitter to make it pop. When she was finally ready to go upstairs, Daenys remembered the pies she had placed in the oven, of course her time of getting ready only took 25 minutes, she knew those pies would be close to done. She held her breath in as she stood up and walked towards the kitchen.
When she finally reached the kitchen area of the ship, she smiled as the aroma of the pies, with a quick flick of her wrist, the oven was opened a tiny bit to allow the heat to escape so she wouldn’t burn herself trying to look in. At first glance the pies were a perfect golden brown, the crusts were perfect, she had baked three pies, the
apple pie of course, she had figured it had to of been one of Junbei’s favorites, and she wanted to make sure that he had one he liked, she was ever so grateful to him to allow her to come along with him and his crew, the other was a
cherry pie, the scarlet red of the cherries peeking through the stars she had placed along the top of the pie, of course the stars (made with pie crust) were a perfect golden brown also. And for her final pie, strawberry; one of her favorites, the
strawberry pie didn’t have a top, as most who bake them don’t place one, for Daenys she would place whip topping made from sugar and egg whites and a small amount of vanilla for flavoring, it would be sweet, but anyone with a sweet tooth would fall in love with this whip topping.
Once she took them out of the oven, placed all three pies on a tray, she began her journey topside, the smell of the sea hit her first, it was always such a lovely smell, her stinging of the cold air stung her face, causing her cheeks and nose to turn a light shade of pink. This is when she first noticed a man sized frog… The blinked a few times, but then remembered Junbei talking about someone he had called “The Frog”, she didn’t think that nicknames were that literal… But beyond her, who was really to say. She listened as he spoke, his voice was rough and deep, “
If this speaks the truth, Oceanus's hold will weaken once today ends, but this comes from the World Government. We should not walk in assuming that what is said here is truth. A ploy like this could call in many a pirate for fame or personal agenda, this could easily be an ambush by the marines.” The frog said, she watched as he crossed his arms. “
Everyone should be alert; we can't risk being caught with our pants down.”
She was about to make herself known, then Junbei appeared, he had been up in the crow’s nest she figured, she waited for him to finish talking before she would actually speak herself, when he spoke, all she could hear was the fact it could be a trap… She bit her bottom lip gently; she wasn’t ready for a fight… This would be her first actual fight… She wasn’t sure what to think… Then she saw him light a cigarette, she shook her head gently, her father smoked, she didn’t seem much of an appeal to it… The smell was gross enough to stop her from ever wanting to try it.
As she walked towards Junbei and The Frog, as smiled widely, “
Hello there!” She called letting out a deep breath, her first words towards the giant frog man were hello there… She argued inside of her mind for a moment then shook her head, “
I made some pies for everyone, I’m… Afraid I didn’t know how many people there really was…” She frowned, three pies wouldn’t feed all of the grunts that Junbei had around.
