Spoiler:

It was dark in the depths of the sea were the final armada of Skimmer's forces waited. Even from the waters they could hear the sound of the battle and feel their Captain's angst boiling over. Only a few bubbles would break he surface of the South Blue sea on the shore of the Briss Kingdom. "Flyers move out." He spoke grimly and no other words were needed for the front line of their last assault to begin the attack. Zipping out the water like torpedoes, their motors hummed and the ten riders hung on the fish with a both hands tightly. Different from the first flying fishmen those not he island could have encountered, this wave had cannons installed on the head of the fish, with crosshairs mouthed atop the cannon working as sights for the riders to take aim. Spotting a ship in the general area of the shore, a rather ghastly looking vessel, they rained cannonballs towards the ship from about 40m above in a nosedive fashion. Pulling up, as to not crash at roughly 20m from the peak of the haunted ship, they'd continue beyond the vessel towards the Marine Base to finish it off.

In unison the forces that were submerged and hidden in the darkness of the ocean would have began moving towards the shore. They would be sure to stay clear of the ship, splitting their forces to fork around it, knowing the cannoneers would be targeting any vessels near the shore or leaving as ordered. Only one force of fishmen would stay idle near the ship, that being the grunt force. Thirty in number lurked underneath the ship, the water's surface working to slow the cannonballs should they miss their mark, the fishmen would be able to weave around them to not be struck. After the bombardment, they'd then work their way up the side of the ship, the side furthest away from the island, to be incognito as possible. Once on the ship they'd begin ransacking whatever they could and attacking whom ever was aboard. Sixteen fishmen would be heading directly to the shore to see those who fought so bravely off to the other world. Coming upon the sandbar from the ocean would be four Great White Sharkmen, four TigerShark fishmen, four BullShark fishmen three, WhaleShark fishmen, then the hulking and menacing twelve foot tall Skimir. The water would drip off their large bodies, each of them being an officer in Skimmer's crew, none were weak and none were under eight feet tall. The flying fishmen in the meantime would be wrecking havoc on the Marine Base, their aim being to totally annihilate it.

To those not he shore, Skimir would speak in the confident and conceded manner that he found to be rather natural. "Humans of all shapes and sizes. Surrender now and we'll spare your life and let you be our slaves. Gehahahahaha." Hi cohorts joined him in deep toned laughter, the sound of whatever was going on atop the vessel being behind them and the sound of destruction at the base to their fronts, with whomever the defenders of Briss were also to their front. A few Marines joining their numbers while the others battled the fishmen who were striking the base from the air.

To think that on such a beautiful sunny day, so much bloodshed could happen so fast. There were many dead fishmen on the floor from the previous fights, but for every one of them there were three or even four dead humans, from toddlers to the elderly. It didn't stop at that however. More fishmen came from the ocean, running through the city to get to the marine base that stood tall and proud, but probably not for long. A little more than a dozen of the biggest fishmen the marines ever saw were headed right towards them, and in addition to them, ten more fishmen were flying through the air with their flying fish that were strapped with cannons this time. On the opposite side of the coast, a marine branch that heard a distress call coming from Briss Kingdom docked and met with the remaining marines about 5 meters in front of the base, including Axel.

"Alright guys, I don't know many more waves of these fishmen there will be, but what I do know is that we need to stop this wave before they reach the base. you guys need to spread out since they probably won't all be bundled together. I have an idea that may help us as well," Axel told the marine branch and the other marines that stopped the last wave with him. Directly in front of the marine base was a street that stretched straight ahead quite a distance. Axel was able to spot a few fishmen coming through that street with his bird sight, which is how he realized there were more of them. The sound of cannon balls striking the ground was also a sign. In order to act out his idea, Axel changed his form. For the second time this day, the gunner grew wings on his back with a span of about three feet each, grew yellow claws on his hands and feet, his eyes turned fully black, and he grew dark grey and white hair all over his body. "Gonna need three of you," the young man said as he began to flap his wings hard, causing him to ascend. He flew over to a group of three marines who were chatting amongst themselves, probably not even listening to the conversation that was going on between the others. As he flew towards them, Axel aimed his two feet and his left arm, one at each of them, and grabbed at their collars.

"Hey! What the hell are you doing man!" shouted one of them in anger and fright.

"Upgrading you with some cool mounts, so stop whining and just go with it," the bird man replied. He flew all the way up to beyond the roof of the marine base a few meters. The building was about to be hit from the front by three fishmen mounting the flying fish. They came fast, directly in the front of the base attempting to wreck it with their cannons while the other seven spread out around it to attack the marines on the ground standing as security. Spotting the 'weird looking bird thing,' the fishmen decided to shoot him down before they got started on the base. Three cannons came his way, but a fast ascent by just a meter was enough to dodge them. Knowing that it would take them a while to load up the next cannons, Axel zoomed at them as fast as he could, flapping his wings much harder than before. With his free right arm, the marksman took out one of his revolvers. The flying fishmen were turning around now to escape his assault before they got their cannons ready, but they weren't fast enough. Axel shot all three of them in a row, in the face, causing them to fall from their mounts as they fell over on either side. With his great aim, Axel threw the three marines on the flying fishmen, who were happy as long as they had a mount in general. These weren't aggressive creatures, so even if their previous owners died on top of them and were replaced with the enemy, anything was fine as long as they could fly.

"You guys are now gonna go around disrupting the other flying fish so they won't be able to shoot precisely. Just try to bump into them. That will cause them to dodge you, making sure that the fishmen won't be able to take the others down. If you see the marines on the ground being roughed up too much, then you shoot the fishmen on the ground. It may be a lot to watch, but you guys got this," Axel said as he flew away, headed towards the main street deciding to help the marines on the ground attack the oncoming force. The three marines mounting the flying fish were scared, but they did there best to ensure the lieutenant would be proud of them at the end.

Alice
Alice had begun to nod off to sleep between the waves of fishmen. The last attack on the base had left it in dire condition. Still wearing Axel's long red coat which she'd borrowed to keep her warm while they tried to sleep off their fatigue, Alice was forced to wake up once more to the sound of trouble knocking on her door. In a very somewhat literal sense.

The fishmen were attacking yet again. Alice was quite happy that she'd been able to catch a rest, or she'd likely still be fairly tired. Axel wasn't on the cot she'd dragged him into so that meant the bird brain was up and about, which probably meant that she oughta be up and about as well. Upon exiting the base's gym and entering it's courtyard, Alice immediately caught site of several flying fishmen heading away from the base. However, it'd be foolish to think this wouldn't be a target as well. Alice worked her way toward the beach head, mostly to scout it out for any invading fish folk.

The bombshell blonde arrived just in time to see the largest collection of the largest fishmen strut out of the water. Each of them sported teeth larger than fingers and not a single one of them looked to be under 8 feet tall. She ran her fingers through her own hair as the largest among them made a bold, cocky proclamation. If he weren't a racist megalomaniac freak from the deep, Alice imagined they'd share a lot of the same humor. In the spirit of that humor, Alice slowly approached the group of fishmen, her arms raised above her head.

"P-please! D-dont hurt me! I'm just an ensign! I-I don't know what's going on an-and I don't want to die!" she'd declare in her best impression of a coward while preparing her Devil Fruit powers in case that failed, "P-please! How, how do I surrender?" Alice would ask in a timid tone, using the time to size up the large group. It definitely wouldn't be wise to fight these guys all at once... The best bet would be to split them up, get them away from the big, ugly one. He definitely seemed like the one in charge, what with his stupid face plate and clear advantage in size over his peers.

Naga D. Linnea
In the wake of the previous battle, Linnea's number one concern had been to get more arrows. Taking out so many enemies did quite a number on her quiver, and after these two waves of attacks it was almost empty, at least considering the amount of foes that were still left to take down. It was fortunate she could count on Seiju's flying partner to drop her off, which greatly speeded up the process. But she had no time to waste. Once she had her arrows, Linnea came back to the Marine base, confident that would be where the action would go down.

The patient huntress climbed one of the tallest trees next to the marine base, ensuring she'd be able to not only leap off to another tree, but also drop down should her perch suddenly come under attack. And then the battle began... Flying fish riders suddenly popped up from the waters, alerting to the next wave's arrival. There was a battle shop a little further off the coast, but all things considered Linnea would have defenitely preferred it weren't there: Their enemies were fishmen, they were at home in the water and thus raiding and possibly comandeering an enemy ship would be an easy feat and would make their fight a hell of a lot harder...

These guys had cannons mounted atop their heads and anybody could see they would likely be a lot more dangerous than the ones they had been fighting before... But from her hiding perch, Linnea could see one guy transforming into a bird and carrying three Marines, before killing the flying fish riders and throwing the marines on top of them.

"Smart...", she commented to herself with a faint smile, deciding to just do her own thing. Looking towards the beach, she patiently waited for the fishes to reach the 100 meter mark that would allow her to start shooting. But then her eyes widened when she spotted a familiar figure leaving the base.

Alice...? What was she doing here? Had she volunteered to help out too? Regardless, this was enough for Linnea to lock her her sharp eyes onto her lover, determined to protect her throughout this fight, especially since she was heading towards the front lines... Hopefully she wouldn't go too far forward, or Lin wouldn't be able to protect her...

Seiju
Standing atop the ramparts of the marine base, an old mans gaze watched the ocean patiently as he waited for another round of seafood slaughterers. Seiju had predicted that the days events were not over yet, a premonition which proved to be woefully accurate as more flying fishmen emerged from the nearby waters. The commander couldn't see any more fishmen beyond the flyers but he was sure there were at least a few coming. The last two waves had come with a ground unit as the main force while the air fighters simply acted as support. There was no reason to suspect that things would be any different this time around. Looking back towards the interior of the base, Seiju felt a substantial relief upon seeing that there had been others taking back the base from the second wave as well. Their numbers had been bolstered from a mere handful of grunts and a few militia to a more sizeable number. Not to mention, there appeared to be some capable officers among them.

Down below a young Lieutenant seemed to be taking charge of things before transforming with what appeared to be zoan powers. The bird-like marine was bringing some help along to intercept the flyers which wasn't a bad plan in Seiju's opinion so the geezer kept his nose out of it. The Lieutenant would have flown past Seiju just as the old man leapt down from the ramparts to where his beast companion Scylla the Sennenryu was waiting for him. She could sense the danger with her instincts but remained patient in order to gauge her master's reaction. The bird was still judging Seiju's capacity as a leader, the man being a mere babe compared to the wisdom of the elderly avian.

"Sorry, Scylla. I'll need to ask for your help again."

The swordsman reached out and pat the birds beak with a gentle stroke and apologetic eyes. "There are some more flying fish mounted enemies coming our way. Think you can do something about them?" The Sennenryu locked eyes with Seiju and slowly got to its feet before making a loud cry. Several powerful wing beats caused the air inside the base walls to stir wildly as they carried Scylla upwards. Seiju covered his face and watched as the gale made his clothing and hair flutter in a carefree dance. Scylla rose from the cover of the base walls just as the flying fishman began to assault it only to be attacked by Axel and his men. The distraction of the zoan would be followed almost immediately by the appearance of the massive dragon-like bird creature. She propelled herself forward with a few powerful wing beats moving into a Swift Flight carrying Scylla towards the cannon mounted foes. The strokes of her wings would allow Scylla to quickly avoid any cannon shots by a hairs breadth as she approached the flyers and moved to pluck the fishmen riding them from their mounts using her talons. The Sennenryu would try to rip at least five of the fishmen from their seats in one pass of their ranks, dropping each one to fall helplessly to the earth immediately so as to free her grasp up to rip the next one from his saddle.

Meanwhile, Seiju met up with the Marine Commander on the scene and agreed to split the remaining troops between them for command as Seiju was of the same rank. The Commander would take 15 soldiers and 2 lieutenants down to engage the fishmen directly on the shore before they could push much further inland. But the plan as for them to begin retreating as soon as combat started. Seiju would take 12 soldiers into the buildings between the shore and the base along with a single Lieutenant to set up an ambush. While the brave souls began charging onwards to the beach, Seiju silently exited the base through a side entrance along with his small division of rifle wielding marines leading them into several hiding spots along the streets leading towards the marine base.

Seiju himself waited out in the open on the main road looking out to the shore where a lone marine was confronting the fishman attackers. He couldn't tell from here that she was asking for surrender, but the old man felt sorry for her either way as a small battalion of troops were on their way to soon turn that shoreline into a battlefield. Hopefully she would manage to not get caught up in the cross fire as the Commander and his men arrived on scene and opened fire on the line of shark fishmen.

"Only one of you rodents is going to surrender!?" Skimir shouted, his voice like thunder, heard even over the banter of cannon fire and the destruction of a Marine vessel that was docked behind him. "Then kill the rest Gehahahahahahaha!" Of his officers, a rather tall eight foot and a few inches BullShark took the honor of accepting the woman's surrender. Though most would call this female beautiful, the fishmen felt no such feelings for such a vile and inferior species. "Hey! Tie this one up with some rope on the ship and sit her there!" The BullShark's orders were to the grunts that were destroying the lone Marine Vessel, their aim to make sure the human's had no way of escaping, for their next target would be the commercial docks of Briss Kingdom after the marine Base was conquered. As the BullShark would move a hand to push the female in her back towards the ship to progress her capture, Skimir would beckon to his force of officers to come with him towards the Marine Base. "Bring those guys with you, when you're done with her."

Their walk showed no urgency, even when they saw the rare creature flying above dispatching their flying fishmen unit. "That thing should be the only survivor, but make sure it's restrained Gehaha!" Skimir spoke in reference to the airborne beast and the grim chuckles of his men were confirmation that he was heard. While he spoke a wave of boys in blue made a charge onto his unit, to which he found great amusement. "You think just charging me head on will do you good?! Gehaha!" His cohorts behind him, he was clear to swipe the air after the secretion of a blob of water out the hand he swiped.

What this produced was a myriad of bullets crafted from seawater itself. The spread wasn't wide enough to alleviate the whole troop of Marines of their burdensome lives, but a majority of them would experience the the effects of one of the most simple Fishman Karate Techniques. "Gehaha! Chase em down!" He laughed at the fallen bodies of the marines that were struck. Their blood splattered in the sand like a piece of abstract art. The six that survived, counting the commander and his lieutenants, retreated messily, their formation being shattered as they split into two groups of three. From a collective, to three separate groups, Skimir's officers gave chase. One WhaleShark and one BullShark Fishman pursued each group of Marines, after they shared the thrill produced from trampling the corpses that were freshly made by Skimir. He wasn't bothered by this act and let his men hunt to their heart's content, as he would do the same when presented with prey. With five from his main force of officers dispatched, the main group pressed on in a more composed manner.

"Do you think it'd be easier to just swamp the base with water from the ocean?" The entirety of the main road was about them and the slobbering behemoth was itching to kill some more, but now it could wait, for he had to be sure his officer's knew suggestions after the plan was solidified wouldn't be tolerated. As he stopped in his tracks, the rest of his officers halted as well, one of which was about to possibly be relieved from his seat. A deep growling could be heard coming from Skimir, it was obvious to tell he was peeved. He pressed his teeth together in anger and saliva began to wet the sand that was shaded by his hulking shadow in at an even faster pace. "Because I want to show them they'll get crushed on their own turf! Gehehehe . . ." The one who spoke and caused this ordeal was off to Skimir's left a bit behind him off his shoulder, the officer's shadow telling Skimir his positioning. Extending his left hand outward gripping the soul's face, he applied crushing force to the cranium of the TigerShark Fishman. Lifting him off the ground with this single hand, Skimir violently launched the waste of gills towards the inferior heap before his unit as he released a deep laugh from his gut. Given the size and stocky build of the fishman it was a testament to his unnatural levels of strength. "No more suggestions Gehehe."

Axel was fortunate enough to get another feathered friend that would help him with his aerial assault. This friend was... quite huge, too huge to just be any regular bird in fact. It had white, dark gray and green fur, had a large wing span, and it's face looked quite odd. Axel decided to fly throughout the city, tailing this odd creature as it ripped five fishmen from their mounts, leaving only 2 fishmen in the air now. As this occurred, Axel opened up his revolver and replaced the three missing bullets so that both of his guns would be full should he need them all in one blowout. After that, the bird man put away his revolver and began to fly away from the winged creature, understanding that it was an ally and wouldn't go berserk on the marines it seemed. He headed back towards the base to get the last two flying fish that were being ridden by the pirates. As the marksman flew as fast as he could, the wind that hit his skin was effecting him quite a bit since he didn't have his red coat on, reveling his green T-Shirt that was underneath it as well as his shotgun and sniper which were always attached to his back. Alice decided to take it from him for whatever reason while he was asleep.

"You guys suck," Axel would commented, the words flying from out of his yellow beak, being received by the two fishmen that were trying to get far away from the base and towards the forest behind it since the marine on the flying fish were distracting them from getting any clear shots. Axel was flying in between the two just a bit behind them, so by the time they turned their heads to see who spoke, his claws would be in their faces, one each, sticking into their skin. Axel boosted his speed a bit, flapping his wings harder, gripping the brains of his enemies and sending them forward, off of their mounts. Once his bloody fingers were pulled out of their heads, they would fall to the floor, dead. Now the gunner decided to head back towards the shore to fight the enemies on the ground.

Axel made it to the sandy shores in time to see that a WhaleShark Fishman was chasing three marines including a commander. They ran towards an alley of one of the building just beyond the beach far east from the main force. He was only a few dozen meters in the sky, so the fishman army probably saw him by now, but that was better since he could probably lure more of them away from the main collective.

"Surrender now, or you will die," Axel ordered as he followed the fishman and the three marines to an alleyway that was now a dead end. There was a gate that closed it off from the main streets. A large garbage can was pressed against the gate as well. It was large enough for the marines to jump on and then jump over the gate, but the WhaleShark was too close, and was about to chop them in two with his greatsword, but Axel was just a few meters above him and in front of him, diverting his attention. The enemy eyed down the marine with a huge grimace. He worked on his vertical a few times a day just for this opportunity.

The pirate squatted down just a bit, then jumped up as high as he could in the air. Sure that he was high enough now, the fishman cut at Axel's legs horizontally, but the young man kind of had an idea that this is what his target would do, since he didn't have any range weapons on him to stay put and fire. Axel flapped his wings harder which made him ascend just a few inches, while also folding his legs behind his back as far as he could, effectively avoiding the attack. In response, Axel got out the revolver attached to his right hip with his right hand and aimed at the whale's head. The enemy now eyed the marine with terror as he knew that nothing would save him from his fate. Two bullets went right into his dome and stopped in the center of the brain. He fell to the floor on his back.

Alice
Alice's eyes lit up in delight as her "captors" chose to "spare" her, a very "handsome" bull shark would deliver some orders to a series of grunts who seemed to come from the ocean, had they been attacking that ship this whole time?! Alice regretted she wasn't a fish person, or at the very least able to swim. How were they supposed to do anything against underwater guerilla warfare?

Still, the boss eased his way toward the base while the bullshark and a quintet of peons moved to accept her "surrender". Alice would wait for them like the victim she easily played. While she waited, a storm of Marines would change the beach, and as easily as one would extend their hand, which a flick of his wrist the monstrous fishmen leader scattered sea water across the beach. The sound of popping bubbles was mixed with the sound of anguished cries as the water EXPLODED against those men's flesh. Blood soaked into the sands of the beach, the tide seemed to come in just enough to lick up the red paste. Alice, to her surprise, lost s lot of confidence all of a sudden.

She fell to her knees as the fishmen who'd intended to bind her drew nearer. They were inconsequential right now though. Alice was still in shock over the amount of death that'd just took place in front of her eyes. The few survivors soon had pursuers, splitting up the group of fishmen. Alice slowly turned her head around to look at the boisterous fishmen leader. He had tossed one of his own men away like a rag doll, and he seemed very eager to do the same to anything else in his way.

It took a short time for Alice to notice it, but the blood of those Marines had speckled across her friends jacket. It soiled itself deep into the fabric, leaving the pungent smell of copper lingering in Alice's nostrils. All attempts made by the fishmen to restrain Alice easily failed, as the fishmen who tried to bind her did not quite get the memo. She could hear them saying something to one another, questioning why she was so slippery but they wouldn't really have time to figure the answer out for themselves. Alice would spring to her feet with a backflip, delivering her patented Hard Knoxx Knee to the back of the tiger shark's head with a rageful howl, planting his shattered skull into the now bloody sands. The grunts who'd come to apprehend her would be literally useless, as their attacks cut into Axel's jacket, but harmlessly slid off her skin once through the fabric. They were nothing for Alice to eliminate, and she swiftly dispatched them with a series of kicks, punishing their slip ups with bone crushing kicks.

She'd shoot one last glare to the fishman boss before tossing Axel's coat off, it's deep red color matching the sand quite nicely. As a precaution she'd activate her perception Haki, extending her range of vision by 15 meters in all directions. this would allow her to see the auras of creature, both big and small, and identify threats her normal eyes might have missed. Of course, she was now able to catch a glimpse of that towering fishmen monster, and soon realized he had Haki, due to his different colored Aura.

That would definitely prove to be a problem. Alice was certain of it.

"Oh gee. I guess I changed my mind about the whole surrendering thing... Funny how that works out..." she definitely didn't speak loud enough to be heard over the gunfire and terror, if only because Alice for the first time in her life was facing legitimate fear. She was finding it really hard to find her voice in the face of death, but then, she didn't feel all that bad about that.

Alice had two options as far as she could see. She stick around and fight the guy who'd exploded guys with water, or go after one of the squads of Marines.

Going after the Marines was a good idea, and she took off, as fast as she could after the group that had been separated from their commander. This whole scenario probably could have played out differently if she had thought about anything, but... We'll, she didn't do much of that. Once she was able to detect some auras of a larger size, Alice made her way toward those. She wouldn't say a word as she launched herself at the largest shark, driving her spinning Roundhouse of Hard Knoxx into his body, toppling the thing onto it's friend. Alice promptly set about curb stomping the pinned bullshark until it's eyes reflected a glassy deadness she'd come do associate now with dead shark men. Her Haki would let her know if anyone had pursued her, but she sincerely hoped she could catch a break.

It was hard to muster up much more than a disappointed sigh for the old man as Seiju watched his fellow commander charge the men into the fishman rather than form a line and fire lead at them from a distance. How many good men just got slaughtered because the bold commander pushed his men too far forward? Seiju shook his head and crossed his arms with a frown as the situation went from bad to worse. The plan was for the men to retreat back to Seiju's direction so the ambush could take out their pursuers. Instead, they panicked and fled in a disorganized manner splitting into two groups that went on either side of the silvery haired swordsman. "What a shameful display. When I was young the men would have dug in to their last breath if that was the order. What kind of spineless cowards are the marines accepting these days?" It was a harsh judgement considering it had been his plan which led to all of this tragic loss of life. But this was a battlefield and there was no time for Seiju to be second guessing himself. He would mourn the dead and blame himself later, but for now there were more pressing matters to deal with.

"Scylla!"

The old man's voice rung out but it wasn't easily heard over the commotion of the battle. The flying beast was able to hear the call nevertheless as she was already making her way back towards Seiju's side. The zoan user from before had taken care of the remaining flying fish mounted fishmen which meant that the task she'd been given was now complete. The marine commander didn't give the bird any commands, he just stared at the retreating marines with a concerned look on his face. Scylla didn't know what the man wanted of her but she knew that he valued life and that Seiju would feel the burden of each fallen soldier once this was all over. With that in mind, the ancient Sennenryu veered off to the side and began to follow the group of marines that Axel had moved towards. As the marines turned into the alley, the whale shark turned in after them and Axel swooped in to deal with that threat. But there was still a bull shark fishman lagging behind slightly but about to turn into the alley to help corner the marines. Scylla swooped down on top of the fishman like a lightning bolt from the skies, pinning him to the ground suddenly with her sharp talons. A peck of her beak smashed the bull shark fishman's face in rendering him incapable of further combat. Scylla then took to the sky once more, circling back over the main street to keep an eye on her master.

Patiently waiting for the main fishman force to come up the main road, Seiju remained standing out in the open with his arms crossed only parting them once the vile Skimir and his men got close enough to hear his shouts clearly. "Welcome to Briss Kingdom!" The old man called out cheerfully, a simple smile upon his face. Seiju reached up with one hand and scratched his cheek casually as he made a proposal to the fishmen. "I don't suppose we could convince you all to go home peacefully with good wine and some fine food?" It wasn't a genuine offer, but the swordsman was playing the part of a somewhat nervous leader looking to barter his way out of utter annihilation. This act was quickly revealed to be a farce however as he pointed at each of Skimir's officers listing off different ways they could be cooked. "It'll be a grand feast, I assure you. You for example would be filleted, you we could grill, oh and YOU, you look like you'd make a great barbeque. Lets not forget you, those fins of yours look like they'd be great in a soup! My mouth waters just thinking about it." The tone of the old man quickly became a mocking one as he spoke of the fishman officers like they were nothing more than seafood to him.

Meanwhile, the dozen marines that had followed Seiju were hold up inside the buildings surrounding the old man. Each one waiting patiently for his signal. Seiju had placed himself in the dead center of the crossfire kill zone as bait to lure the main force of the fishmen in. It was a suicidal job, but the swordsman was prepared to slip away from his location at any moment if needed. As if he were a cloud of mist being blown away by the wind.

Naga D. Linnea
In the skies above, Linnea confirmed the return of her Marine ally and its feathery mount, while the other Bird Zoan guy kept wreaking death from above. As the two plummeted down close to the buildings nearby, Lin instead chose to focus on her lover and ensure no harm came to her from hanging around in the front lines. The whole battle was getting very messy very quickly... She would rather not go down there so as not to be easily identified by those marines and likely pursued by them while she was busy keeping fishmen from destroying the island. So that left her with only one choice: Stay up here and start sniping. From this perch she had a clear view of the street between the buildings, and once the main force appeared there, she could take them out.

The attack from the marines had been quickly squashed by the big fishman, and Alice used the opportunity to flee, joining one of the groups of hurriedly retreating Marines. She could easily handle those two fishes by herself, leaving Lin to protect the others. Those men were broken and no longer willing to fight; desperately trying to kill them all was exactly the kind of savagery she would expect from monsters such as these. But as these stragglers were dealt with, Linnea had other targets. Some of those big shark fishmen seemed to be the officers in this rabble, so if she took them out, the minions should lose their spirit. Grabbing three arrows, she let them loose at those three fishmen soon after they started marching, sniping off two Tiger Sharkmen and one Great White Sharkmen, killing the three of them with a shot to the heart before any of them even knew what happened.

"It's own ally as a weapon, huh...", thought Linnea as she saw the Fishman boss kill one of his own friends and use him a throwing weapon; targeting the grizzled swordsman. Reacting on pure instinct, she took aim at the area about a meter in front of her ally, nocked her arrow, and timed the shot so it hit the flying fishmen square in the chest, diverting it off couse just enough that the old men was left unharmed as the huge lump of dead fish flew past him. That was close... Too close... If they were gonna survive this they would need that man's experience.

So that big ass monster wasn't happy with just slaughtering humans, he had to kill his own allies too? Lin gritted her teeth; it would be shameful to lose such a beautiful island to such a whole heartedly ugly monsters. Killing innocent humans out of blind hatred was bad enough as it were, but to turn his fangs against his own kin after so much clamoring for racial superiority was just pitiful. This walking natural disaster had to be nipped in the bud before it had a chance to spread its dealthy grasp elsewhere...

The enemies were now probably vaguely aware of her presence, but they had no way of knowing how far she was since Linnea was silently shooting arrows from the canopy of a green tree, perfectly hidden behinds its leaves. Her breath was a little heavier as she felt the strain of the long winded battle, and instead decided to lay down continuous fire instead of powerful skills, she instead shot another arrow at a wandering Great White Sharkmen, incapacitating it with a shot to the chest.

Did the Marines know it was a pirate who was helping them? Probably not; most likely they imagined it was one of their own, even if arrows were a far cry for the equipment officially issued to Marines. But this pirate had her priorities set straight: If fishmen obliterated all humans, most humans and marines would all die. Plus, at this rate there would be no beautiful islands left to explore. More imporantly, to Linnea, being a pirate meant having the utomst freedom to choose whichever path she wanted to take, and at this point she not only wanted to honor this circumstancial alliance, but protect the living souls of the island regardless of what colors they wore...

For the Marine that had pursued the WhaleShark which he thought to be lone into an alleyway, he had another thing coming. As the WhaleShark jumped upwards to meet the Bird Zoan Marine and swung horizontally he missed, but why would he stop there with one feeble swing? His sword pulled over on his left side, he released the grip of the blade with his right hand, and jabbed outwards releasing a generic Fishman Karate jab. He was more experienced than most, but the water-wave jab would just feel like a normal punch and nothing special, but this punch could potentially save his life should it hit the Birdman. During his jab his left hand would have been moving his greatsword diagonally angled at the birdman, but not fully extended. This wasn't an attack, but a defensive tactic, the sword would be held vertically with one flat side of it facing him and the other facing the birdman. Should he wish to fire his weapon's at him, sadly majority of his body would be hidden behind his weapon. His partner in crime wouldn't be as lucky however.

Spoiler:

For the female who attempted to lure the fishmen into her ploy, she'd find the activation of her Devil Fruit creating distrust in her captors hearts. Should one surrender, the BullShark expected they would lower their defenses and give in to their captor's will. Yet when he moved his hand to push her, just to get her moving quicker than she probably wanted to, he found his hand unnaturally slipping or sliding off her frame. "Human's just can't find it in themselves to trust a fishman can they?" He spoke calmly at first as he watch five of Skimir's men approach with some rope. He would have stopped, letting the female continue with her actions should she have buckled to her knees when she witnessed the Marines die. "Let it be known then!" As he shouted he would have launched a punch with his right hand at the Marine's chest. His aim to disturb the water in her body with his Fishman Karate. At his level of practice, ranged use of such teachings weren't yet possible, but with contact even should his hand slip off her body, the contact would allow the water within her to be impacted thus causing the pain of his strike to not only hit her, but knock her away towards the ship. "I think the Captain would understand if we had a slip up and accidentally killed you." He flashed his sharp teeth with his devious smile, the grunts adopting a spread formation, creating a semi circle facing her back. The BullShark would have been at her front. Ropes one of them would have formed a knot to allow him to make a lasso with his length of rope. Swinging the length over his head, the others followed his lead and began to prepare a knot for a lasso as well. The fishmen aboard the ship just watched on and cheered on their comrades while shouting slurs and derogatory things at the woman.

Given as soon as the fishmen began moving forward after taking out the Marines, they were attacked by a hidden force, their train of actions wouldn't be the same. Even in their charge, they remained alert in an animalistic type of way and while two of the TigerShark fishmen paid for their inexperience, the same couldn't be said for the Great WhiteShark Fishman. He was a a sharpshooter himself and more invested in his surroundings, in other words not blinded by bloodlust. At least not until he shed blood. The arrows came from not directly in front of them, but in between their direct left and front. That said the arrows weren't existing strictly in their peripheral vision and they could be sighted and focused on to a degree before hitting their marks. The Great WhiteShark evaded perfectly with a swift sidestep, while one of the TigerSharks tried to duck lodging the arrow in his throat, he'd surely die. The other had pushed off another officer to fall int eh sand, int he process he got his ally shot int eh arm with the arrow. "Gehahahaha looks like the humans want to play hide and seek." With their advance halted from this interruption, they hadn't come up the main road. They instead decided to detour to deal with the pesky sharpshooters. "They are probably hiding in that forestry, that's what I would do at least." "Is that so, Gehaha." Again the water oozed from Skimir's hand and with a swipe of his clawed appendages with his officers behind him and out of harm's way, he fired off a single water bullet this time that took the form of a shark.

At the same time, the fishman who had just spoken took aim with his rifle. The scope of which allowing him to get a clear view on the area where the arrows had come from. While he couldn't see the sniper due to how they had hid themselves, with Skimir's sharkbomb speeding towards the general location, not to hit them directly just the trees over there, the detonation would smoke them out and possibly give them a few nasty splinters from the debris. Should the sniper be revealed, then the sharpshooter of Skimir's officers a Great WhiteShark Fishman, would fire at the now revealed her. "Gehahaha lets rush up while he aims at them." Given three arrows were fired, the fishmen were convinced multiple people and not just one sniper was hiding in that location, thus the main road was ignored and now they were taking a detour through the wilderness that surrounded the Marine Base to find their snipers.

Axel planned to shoot the fishman in the head once his sword strike missed, but right after that, the enemy got his right hand free by placing the sword in his left and then punched the marine square in the face, landing on the floor afterwards. The punch connected, sending Axel upwards about 3 feet. The flapping of his wings during this movement of force allowed him to maintain his balance in the sky. While Axel's face did indeed hurt from the bruise around his left cheek, he couldn't focus on the pain. He noticed that the whaleshark put his sword in a position that would protect most of his body from attacks above. That was no problem however, since it seemed that he had forgotten the three marines to his right that were leaned against the trash can. Axel didn't have to order them to take out one flintlock pistol each that was attached to their belts, just as the fishman had his guard up. They aimed their pistols at the enemy's body and fired, ready to empty their entire mags on the beast, which contained about 7 bullets in them each. If the pirate decided to switch up his defenses and block those shots, two bullets would fall on top of his head, as Axel drew the revolver attached to the right side of his belt and aimed it just as the marines fired their weapons. If he got hit by the two bullets and was still able to function, he surely wouldn't function at 100%. His blade would most likely loosen it's guard and he would get shot by the barrage of bullets to his side.

"Alright guys, let's get back on the main road and help our friends!" he would shout as he flew in the direction he came from, should the fishman be dead on the floor.

Seiju
(Alice is consumed by fallout 4 and 12 hours passed since NPCs post so I'm posting)

As the battle unfolded before Seiju's eyes as he peered down the main road to the coat, it was becoming apparent that the ambush he'd established was not going to be of any use. The marines tasked with leading the fishmen here had scattered and support fire from Linnea had drawn them away from the main road. "Relax everyone, it looks like our guests are taking the scenic route..." Seiju said as he watched the fishmen main force change directions. "Form up on me, we'll try to flank them." The commander spoke his orders as he began to head into an alley. The marines with him all emerged from their hiding places and followed after the old man, rifles at the ready in case they were surprised in route to their next location. Seiju would lead the men down the main road and then off to the side in order to sneak out from behind the fishmen, each marine taking up cover behind whatever solid obstacles they could hide behind. Seiju himself climbed up the side of a small bakery along with one of the men and together they crept low along the rooftop in time to see the sharpshooter taking aim as a shark made of water sped into the treeline.

The old man pointed at the sharpshooter and then tapped the marine next to him on the shoulder. The soldier leveled his rifle for the sharpshooter and opened fire from behind. The rest of the marines loosed their lead into the backs of the fishmen with a roaring volley of gunpowder and bullets. Meanwhile, Scylla whom had taken to the air and flown back towards the main road after dealing with a shark fishman saw Seiju's forces advancing down the road to strike at the rear of their enemies. Instead of following them to give away their position, the great bird veered towards the marine base and then circled back along the tree line creating a very obvious aerial distraction flying within the fishmen's line of sight. The giant sennenryu being a threat not easily ignored. Once the marines opened fire on Seiju's command however, the beast suddenly made a dive for the ground. By the time the volley of shots had ended and attentions turned back towards the marines flanking the fishmen, the Sennenryu would land to the side of the fishmen with a loud crash kicking up a cloud of dust.

The billowing cloud was immediately blown away however as Scylla turned to face the fishmen and performed a powerful beat of her wings the instant she landed. The Wing Crash would create a wall of pressurized wind that smashed forth into the fishman formation threatening to blow them away ripping up dirt and trees along with them. The angle of the attack was positioned to send the fishmen into the tree line where numerous solid trees stood as barriers for the fiends to crash into with violent force. Following this brutal attack, Scylla pushed off the ground with her legs and began beating her wings in order to ascend upwards into the air once more.

Following the air blast Seiju shouted ordering his men, whom had reloaded by now, to fire once more the moment Scylla had taken flight exiting the lines of fire. "Let them have it, boys!" 12 normal marine soldiers and a lieutenant all opened fire again, peppering the Fishmen with more shots in the aftermath of the large wind blast.
