After all her actions Blake had finally become wanted around the city, the days of just going out and acting like an innocent waitress were over, somewhat a shame. Instead she spend most time sitting in her shed, reading the local newspaper. The news promised that more Marines were on their way to the city, thanks to the support of the many rich people. Public security was their number one concern! To Blake it sounded more like the Marines had gotten annoyed by someone killing their people, while the rich people were worried that they could be next. After all there was the pastern of killing people with power.
Somehow Blake had not even really considered or researched who she should kill. Obviously some names came to mind and the richest and one with the most influence on the local Marine's was most likely the owner of the local warehouses. She tried to remember where he lived, she was not super sure, but she knew he owned a big villa near the ocean. The funny thing was, that she had not even seen him before, but suddenly felt happiness about killing him. It also had been a while since she killed anyone inside their house, instead of the street.
Usually she would just have walked out of the door and taken a look at the house she planed to break into, but in her current position that was easier said then done, after all girls with green hair were not that common. Even her hood would only make her more suspicious. She had to at least wait till it was dark outside. Calmly she jumped back on her bed and thought about the kill. Sadly she had no clear image of the building, but the best plan was most likely to find a window, kill some guards, stab the target, easy!
In the end she had taken a nap and woke just after sunset. Just to make sure she dressed in black, after all she had hooded shirts of many colours. She even went through checking her tanto and making sure they were still sharp. At some point she had to get better ones, but they were good enough to kill someone, as long as long as they could pierce skin. The human body was mysterious with all its weaknesses and how easy it was to stop it from working. Even the strongest man would die, when you just stabbed his neck.
After cleaning the last blood from her daggers and getting dressed she took a short look in the mirror to fix her somewhat unruly hair under the hood and smiled, then stared, then grinned. Being an intimidating serial murder crazy person required the necessary practice! Also after resting for so long she felt especially playful and a bit hyped up.
The last preparation was to remember the man's location and take a look at it from the outside. Running trough the back alleys and climbing on top of a near by house once she reached the area she took a long good look at the giant building. Many big windows, perfect for breaking in, a vast garden with trees and lots of pillars in the architecture of the house made it even easier to climb up to one of them. She also spotted a minimum of four guards patrolling the garden, two protecting the entrance and a few more through the big windows. For a moment she even saw the fat man pass one of the windows and instantly cursed the fact that she was not very accurate at throwing or shooting, or the whole thing would have been over right there.
Carefully she climbed of the building she had used as a lookout and approached the villa's walls. They were not guarded well, but she remembered seeing some guards watching the backyard from the windows, so she had to find a spot where a tree or bush blocked the sight of her entry. At the same time she also listened for the guards paroling the garden. The guards in groups of two were easy to make out in the silent night, as they were talking while walking. Blake waited till they passed then quickly pulled herself over the wall and landed in a bush. From there she kept near the ground and crawled along the wall to the villa's edge, where she had spotted roses growing up to the balcony on the second floor. Just looking at them made her wonder why people grew them like this, it was as if they were asking for people to use them like a ladder.
She peaked backwards and waited once more for the guards to complete their circle and turn their back, then she quickly reached for the rose covered trellis and pulled herself on her feet, then onto the ladder like construct. Thorns piercing her hands she climbed as fast as she could and threw herself flat onto the balcony, right under one of the many windows. Before continuing she first wanted to pull some of the thorns from her bleeding hands, when she realized that she could just have used Haki to avoid this pain...
The guards inside were within hearing distance, but as long as she kept quiet and against the wall they could not notice her. It was important to not rush from this point on, she had all the time in the world to wait for a good situation to break a window, quickly enter and take out the guards and her target. But while she was thinking about doing just that she heard the heavy footsteps of the fat man coming. Additionally she could hear him speaking as he was approaching the balcony doors. A harder to hear person was near him, his steps almost completely overshadowed by the ones of his employer, his voice a lot softer. Blake suspected him to be the man's personal guard.
While she was still thinking about the best course of action the door to the balcony was forced open and the fat man stepped out, yawning loudly and stretching his arms out. In his shadow stood another man, dressed in a black suit, visibly armed with a pistol and sabre. Both had yet to notice Blake while she just observed them. Soon the two began talking about the current situation in the city, including the crazy murderer. The fat man seemed clearly afraid, while the calm man tried his best to reassure him of his safety. Meanwhile Blake had to try her hardest to not laugh, as she was still sitting just a few feet away from them in the shadow of a potted plant.
The personal guard was a problem and she had also noticed another guard close to the window, if she did not strike swiftly then it would all just end up more work than necessary. For a moment she considered just using Haki, but decided against it, as she did not want to rely on it all the time. Instead she carefully inched closer, till she was almost right behind the guard and his employer, then like a snake her arm jumped up to stab him in the back, but to her surprise she only hit air. “You think I did not notice you?” “You just noticed me when I got this close, admit it!”
Suddenly the guard and Blake were pushing sabre against tanto, both struggling to get the upper hand. Quickly guards approached from behind, while the fat man just stood there frozen in shock. “I don't have time to deal with you!” She let the man win. Quickly she pulled her dagger back, throwing him of balance and making him step past her. At the same time she pulled her second dagger and stabbed him in the back. It was not enough, to kill the guard, but gave her enough time to lunge and her target and quickly slice at his throat, leaving a deep cut through his air pipe.
Not yet fully dead the man started to stagger backwards against the handrail, where Blake just had to give him a kick to throw him over. Shoots were fired at her, hitting her in the arm. Again she cursed her own arrogance of not wanting to use Haki, but she had done her work, glancing over the edge she took a jump and landed on the fat man below the balcony, where more guards were quickly approaching and closing in on her while firing less than accurately at her, as she rushed as fast as she could towards the wall, using pillars and trees as cover.
All the time she kept trying to gauge the damage to her arm, cursing loudly at herself and the men chasing her, before leaping up a tree's branch and from there over the wall. “Need to improve, need to improve”, she kept telling herself as she rushed through the alleys, a trail of blood behind her, till she jumped into the ocean to lose the men.
