With still not even a hint about the perpetrator she was trying to chase, Iris did not exactly have a lot of choice. At least during transit from one island to the other, she learned there were only ships bound for two different places that had set sail off the baterillian port she ended up using herself in a few days. So at least this island was a better place to look at then most other places. And that's how it did not take the girl very long to find the more shady looking places around town. And those in turn, would be more likely to be linked to the local underworld-kind of people. She'd punched a face in and got at least a tiny lead from it before, that might just keep working for now.
As such, it happened to be that a fairly out of place girl sat in what would become an awfully dangerous bar later in the day, companied by the black wardrobe trunk. There already were some people back in more secluded seats that looked like they were basically waiting for someone they could stab and rob to show up, but right now, she didn't feel as if there was an immediate danger.
Iris had gotten a cup of coffee to be more inconspicuous and help pass the time. Staring into what was essentially dirty water, stirring in the ceramic cup seemed to accelerate the passage of time and cleared her mind for all kinds of inner monologue. Occasionally raising her head to throw a glance at people coming and going. While having no clues or specific people in mind meant she really did not have to, it seemed necessary to blend in -as much as a fairly young looking girl could blend in with mostly hardened looking men and women- with the small crowd of people that would form over the day however, as eyeing any person setting foot in the bar was something pretty much everyone did.
Over the span of two, maybe three hours the individual tables with a handful of chairs each ended up filling to a decent degree and the first, typical crowded-location background murmurs welled up. Yet the usual prime hours were still some time away. Iris still had no idea what exactly she was looking for or expecting to happen but kept figuring and hoping that eventually something would happen or reach her ears. Something that would point at someone being in on local criminals and going-ons or the likes. Someone she could then follow and intercept, ideally. But that someone either had not come yet or by chance did not have a loud day today.
