It was looking like a beautiful day, as the Grand Steamer sat just off of the coats of the great island known as Zerene. Gerard had come here after his wife, Valentine had expressed interest in taking this island for themselves. A sort of honeymoon paradise for the pair of them. And so far, from looking at it, Gerard wasn't really too surprised. The place was like a savana from what he could see. Rolling fields, lush vegetation. Not barren, but not overgrown like back in the Calm Belt. And as a devoted husband, Gerard was more than happy to give his beloved her heart's desire.

Especially since, now they were here, Gerard could see the island was practically deserted. No signs of any civilization at all. At least, not along the coast anyway. And if there was a civilization here, logic dictated they would be near the sea. So with that settled, it looked like they could simply just come onto the island and start building. Not too hard at all really.

Gerard stood on the deck of The Grand Steamer, as the ship gently chugged along the coast. Now the only thing left to do was find a good spot to set up shop. Somewhere nice for them to put their little holiday home. Somewhere that would stand out and show anyone coming that this island was hers and nobody elses. He leaned on the railing, observing the island before looking over at where his beloved Valentine was. Hopefully she could spot somewhere she would like.

She loved looking at it, the islands fine prestige filled savanna, golden like straws on the ground that covered close to the entire island, she could see some mountains and thought about it, maybe that would be a great place to set up their home, overlooking all of the island. She stood by one of the railings of the mighty ship as it stood there at the shore of the luxurious soon to be vacation home for the couple. She saw beasts on the island, predators walking in its grasses going away from them, observing them from afar as if they were to strike at a later date. She didn't mind them, as long as they didn't try anything stupid she was fine with it. As they docked a bit better having goons that had jumped down onto the shore and put the boat in a safe position she started to feel more comfortable around these parts, jumping down and getting met with the sound of clashing with dirt on her feet. It was something she had missed for a long time, and especially the smell of the roaring summer island. It filled her with determination.

She stood there, watching out over the horizon of the summer island, feeling the warmth hit her as a wave, it was really needed in her life after tundra, not because she disliked the winter weather but she preferred summer over it any day of the week. The light blue oceanic waves, the bird chattering and the predators that were out at that time were all perfect for her seeing as she was a predator herself, plus she just loved the over all feel over it, it suited her. She quickly begun looking more around, maybe there was some other place on the island that suited them more? And if nothing else she would just put up a castle on the hill or on the mountain that was situated on the island, she didn't mind either way. This was good as long as she would be with him after all, her love. "Seeing anything from up there, Gerard?" she said up towards him whilst holding a hand above her eyes to be able to see anything as the sun was still stroking hot onto them. The ship was majestic from where she stood, the waves crashing into it from the shores and the seastone hull standing strong, it was something she was proud of being a part of.

As he looked around, he spied a sizable hill not far from the coast. It wasn't very steep, providing a good raised location that gave them a good view of the surrounding area. At that point, Valentine called out to him, getting his attention. What good timing. He descended to land by his wife's side. "There's a nice hill not far from here where we can get started." he explained, before heading back to the ship to inform the others.

Once the ship was secured, the others began to come on shore, bringing what building materials they had. Unfortunately the most they had was wood, and certainly not enough for a lavish structure. Thankfully, there were plenty of trees for them to harvest and use for the construction. Alisa supervised the work, splitting up the work between men bringing the materials over to the site marked out by Gerard, and them harvesting the nearby trees and cutting the wood into planks for the work. Gerard couldn't but feel proud at how they were working. It made him think back to the work he had done back on Minion. Though that island already had an existing infrastructure that he was able to improve on. This was literally building something from scratch.

"We'll have to start with something a bit simple for now," Gerard explained to Valentine as the men worked, "Nothing as elaborate as a castle I'm afraid. Once we get ourselves settled and established, then I can try and get materials brought over from Minion and we can really start building this place up." He took her hand gently, "I hope that's ok with you dear," he said, looking into her eyes. He would make damn sure it was a fine place for his beloved.

She quickly blushed as she started to look into his eyes passionately before saying anything, "This is almost already too much for me, a castle, now then we are talking about some king sized fun for us.." she said as she referred towards something that she was sure that he was going to get. All of this was really overwhelming for her little clone heart, she was already setting up to create a kingdom for them and hopefully import people on to it, accept immigration and so on and hopefully fix with this islands pollen to not induce insanity into everyone. But that was for another day, for now all they needed was some workforce to get everything up and running as well as a party to give everyone the things they needed the most, stamina.

As she let off of Gerard's soft hand she walked aside to go towards the ship and jump up upon it seeing as her two comrades and her bird was still stalking inside of the almost haunted vehicle. "Gerard, Tosh, Harold!" she screamed out as if she was a barbarian wife, quickly each and everyone one of them felt as if they had a hard grip on their heart before each of them ran towards her before lining up in front of her, all of them reporting for duty with their palm in front of their face as if they were serving a military man. "Harold..." she said and as the name was said the birds heart stood still. "... you should be out there hunting and stuff, go become strong already!" she said with a joyful smile towards the bird and when she did it instantly became the happiest thing alive, flying off into the distance.

The other two stood there as if they were ready for their justice, standing in the same position and awaiting judgement towards them. Her head went down again, filling with darkness before she shed a single word towards them. "Boris..." she said with a dark tone before raising her head and looking straight into his soul through her red eyes. "... You're, actually pretty fine, go and make all that food already, we are having a party down there on the shore soon to raise morale and to keep em working, alright?" she said towards him and as she did his heart started pumping again, he was vitalized to the fullest. Tosh quickly flew down to shore and chopped trees as well using his swordsmanship, and he did it quick enough to tear loads apart every minute.

"That's close enough to what I wanted you to do anyways Tosh, good job!" she yelled towards him as he dashed from tree to tree slicing them down in his way before jumping down with a few tables from the ship, setting up a viable place to hold the banquet.

Gerard smiled at his dear wife's response. Too much? Gerard felt he wasn't doing enough. He had already put effort into building up Minion into the nation it was today, and he intended to do the same for this island. Make it a kingdom worth of his bride. He wouldn't rest until she was sitting on a throne. Not one of bones, but one of gold. Or at least a material that looked good for her.

As she headed back to the ship to rally her subordinates, Gerard turned his attention back to the construction that was going on. This was only the beginning. This one building would be a seed that would flourish into a great kingdom. The site didn't look like much now, the men were starting to flatten out the area so that it could be built on a good foundation. But he intended it to be a good, sizable home. Thankfully Tosh's expert swordsmanship was cutting down trees at a rather quick pace, providing plenty of lumber for the project.

But once this was done, there was the matter of where to go from here. They would need to get a good map of the interior of the island, something that had proven rather difficult to come by. Once they had that, they could plan out expansion. But then they would had to get people to migrate here. His crew couldn't build a nation on their own, and after all, his wife did deserve subjects. But he could worry about that later. Right now he just needed to worry about this current project, and getting his wife's estate constructed.

Already he could smell the scent of the food Boris had been cooking lingering from the ship. The others seemed to notice as well, and Gerard was able to use the prospect of a delicious feast to motivate them in their work. Because dammit, he was going to give her a good place to enjoy her feast!
