It was the big day! Today was the day that Jade got to meet his captain of his crew and you could feel the excitement coming off of him. He quickly got out of the bed of the in that he stayed in for the night, it was strangely cheap but he didn't complain, he wanted to save as much money as he could while he was there. Jade hoped in the shower and washed up before getting out and getting in his usually fancy/casual attire that he wore. Jade quickly left his room towards the main lobby where everyone stared at the young excited man as he thank the staff and left for the town square. He really hoped that they where already, he didn't want to lose his excitement waiting for them.

Mock town's street was brimming with life everywhere that he looked, something he still needed to get use too, and was having a bit of trouble getting to the town square. He didn't want to keep them waiting if they are already there but couldn't help it with all of these people around. After a few minutes of squeezing through people Jade finally managed to find his way to the town square where he looked around for Mavis. Before he knew it she was calling his name and waving towards him and with a large smile he went over and stood by her side. He could see that the captain wasn't there yet so when Mavis asked if he was ready he shook his head yes.

She screamed at the top of his lungs for the captain right in his ear. "What a powerful voice you have there Mavis!" Jade said as he began rubbing his ear and hoped the captain heard her, today was going to be a very exciting day for them.

"Clothes?" Junbei inquired. "Check." Charlotte responded. "Food Supplies?" the man asked. "Check. I got it all Junbei, Jeez! Don't you have any faith in little old me?" Charlotte asked, posing in an adorable and playful manner. Junbei's face was completely blank. "Nope." Junbei replied. The duo left their hotel, which was in Uptown Mock Town, tipping the old woman who owned the inn. With all of the supplies strapped to Junbei's back, Charlotte stopped by the nearby ice-cream shop, getting a double scoop of triple chocolate ice cream. Junbei trekked along like a work horse, carrying the supplies for their ship on his back. Breathing heavily, "You could help me out a bit, eh, Sakura Amazoness?" Junbei said annoyed.

"Little ol' me, Mr.Auburn Songbird. Your the talk of the town now, work for it." Charlotte said, smiling happily eating her ice-cream. "Stingy." Junbei scoffed. As they approached the square, Junbei could hear Mavis's voice echoing quite loudly. "Eh... Did something happen that she's screaming this loud?" Junbei thought. Standing next to her was was a man around 5'11, just a few inches below Junbei's own height. Dropping the bags of supplies, Junbei's Auburn hair swayed in the breeze. "OI! LEAVE MAVIS ALONE!" Junbei shouted, thinking that the unknown man was a weird person hitting on Mavis. From his attire, Junbei stereotyped the man as a  Noble, drawing his tonfa the man raged, approaching Mavis in an alarmed manner. In seconds the distance would be closed, "RAWWWWR" Junbei shouted. Eating her ice-cream cone, the woman's pink hair danced in the wind, standing by the supplies, "What's got him all hyped up now?" Charlotte said calmly, finishing off her second of the three scoops.

Mavis quickly saw that she fucked up by screaming at the top of her lungs, she began to frown as she saw her Captain approaching at top speed.

"Oh... shit." She sighed.

She watched as the cannonball on her captain's tonfa had striked Jade's gut. Mavis instantly felt guilt, but at the same time it was a misunderstanding and she was flattered that her captain had cared so much. She smiled awkwardly at the Jade now lying on the ground probably in pain.


"Uhh... haha. Sorry my bad..." Mavis waved down at Jade.

Mavis then looked at Junbei, "Caaaptain. He's a friend I got him to join the crew yesterday afternoon. Besides I don't think anyone could touch little ol' me like that." Towards the end she winked at Junbei.

Mavis then waited for Jade to get on his feet.

"SO this is Jade, Jade this is Junbei, Captain Junbei meet Jade." Mavis smiled, in the corner of her eye she noticed a woman, "Who's that?"

Mavis saw some of the ice cream on the corner of her mouth, well at least she had some ice cream, Mavis didn't know she was in the crew if she did she would've bought four milkshakes. Mavis passed Jade and Junbei their milkshakes, happily.

"I hope you guys like these." Mavis smiled, taking a sip. "Mmm so cold and tasty I love it."

Jade had saw a man approaching them at top speed, he was a few inches tall and carried a weapon, he also yelled out get away from Mavis while he was approaching. Jade looked around to see that he was the only man standing remotely close to Mavis, "Huh, me?" Jade asked confused before he was approached and hit in the stomach with a tonfa from who he presumed to be his captain. He instantly hit the ground with a dull thump and cried out in pain, what a wonderful way to meet his new captain, Jade hoped that this wasn't his regular greeting.

He managed to peep Mavis wave as she apologized and waved back "don't worry, I'll be okay" Jade replied with a small stream of tears streaming down both of his eyes. He waited a few minutes to get up and heard her explain to the captain who he was, Junbei seemed to have a secret admirer in his midst, Jade wondered if he noticed.

After a few more minutes he got up off the group to wave hi to his captain "Hello there, Captain" he said with a weak smile and still holding his stomach, man was this boy strong, Jade was sure that his stomach would be hurting for a few days after that. "You got some strength there!" He finished as he noticed a girl with Junbei, was she going to be apart of the crew as well? The more the merrier for Jade. After introductions Mavis handed them a milkshake, his favorite cold treat but he had wished it was smothered in chocolate, he loves him so chocolate smothered milkshakes. "Thanks, Mavis!" He said with a calm smile and began slurping down his milkshake and looking at the captain, he interested Jade, and he hoped to learn more interesting things about him. "My favorite!" He said mid slurp.

"Ahh...." Junbei said dropping his tonfa onto the ground. Dusting off the man's jacket as he returned to his feet, Junbei stepped back bowing slightly, "Sorry.", clapping his hands together in signs for forgiveness. "Nice to meet ya' Jade, name's Junbei like she said." Junbei said grinning, scratching his head. "Ugh give me a minute Mavis!" the Captain said, winking at Mavis as he ran back to grab the ship supplies. Walking over to the two, Charlotte began to inspect the two new members, licking her ice-cream cone. "Hmm... Eh... Well they don't look like much. I'm even taller than the male one. He's cute enough I guess." Charlotte said, walking over to Jade, staring him into his eyes extremely keenly. Stepping back slightly, the woman finished off the ice-cream cone, wiping her mouth with a handkerchief. "Sorry for being so rude... I was just checking out the fresh meat on the block." Charlotte said intimidatingly, chuckling in a menacing way.

Dropping the supplies on floor, a few inches away from everyone, Junbei walked over and chopped Charlotte on her head. "Don't mind her, she's a little eccentric." Junbei said, as Charlotte now kicked against his back. "Now then. Mavis. Jade. Charlotte. You're all here today." Junbei said smiling. "There's something I need to tell all of you before we go on this journey. It's kind of a sad story but I won't talk long I promise." Junbei said grinning. "When I was a child, I was an experiment in Marine Project called Aegis. I desired my whole life to become a marine or revolutionary, anyone who could end the suffering of my peers. I planned to escape that place with my best friend, the woman who saved me from giving up on my life. Isabella. When she died, I lost my reason to live. She died trying to snap me out of a drug overdose fit that the doctors at Base #45 induced. When I awoke, I'd lost my ability to feel for quite a bit. It was only months later, I snapped out of it. Her words saved me. I decided to pick up her dream of becoming a Pirate. I'm saying all this to say, I'm not the best person. On these seas, the marines painted me as a demon who murdered the children at the Base #45... but this is the truth." Junbei said in a sullen manner, it seemed as if tears had welled in his eyes but he held them back. He'd shed too many tears over this.

"That being said. JunJun has alotta eyes on him now. He's not the most famous Captain and he certainly ain't the strongest. He's hopeless. Emotional. Pig Headed and Annoying with all his singing at times." Charlotte said, sinking the man to the ground. Walking over to Mavis, Junbei took the milkshake and sipped it stooping down by Jade. Turning to Jade with tears in his eyes, "I'm not that bad right?" the man asked, trying to get some comfort. "But! He's the man I've decided to call my Captain!" Charlotte said grinning, after seeing the affect of Junbei's sulking from her mean comments, turning her head to the side sticking out her tongue. "I ain't no sweetbread either. I've killed people and ruined others dreams. Me and Junbei are telling you all of this to let you know... We're songbirds who escaped our chains and desire freedom. If your willing to have people as worthless as us. We'd be glad to be on the same crew." Charlotte said, blushing slightly.

Mavis chuckled at him when he cried, not the fact that he was in pain but the fact that his face looked so ugly when he cried. He went on to say it was okay and he admired Junbei's strength.

"Haha yea Junbei is quite impressive isn't he Jade." Mavis smirked.

Suddenly everything got serious as Junbei explained his past. Charlotte came off as a super bitch and everything but towards the end she began to make it up. She seemed to be one of those seems like a bitch at first but is only kidding and actually cares, kind of people.

"Well if we're admitting our pasts. I guess I can share more with you all." Mavis sighed.

She took a deep breathe, Mavis had thought so much about it she actually didn't feel like she would cry.

"My father had enslaved my mother and impregnated her with me, mostly because he probably wanted a bigger slave work force." She looked at the ground, "He didn't care for her or me he just wanted a bigger slave force at his feet, he went by the King of Slaves. When my mother's water broke he forced her to work even more. Once she delivered birth to me, he had let her rest for a day then it was back to work."

Mavis had admired her mother's strength to work till delivering Mavis.

"When he tried to touch me my mother wasn't okay with that not even a finger could be laid on me with her around, eventually my mother was too tired to even work let alone protect me. My father took her gun, the gun I carry with me now and he shot her, killing her." Mavis looked at them all her eyes dry, it was as if she couldn't cry anymore about it, "I still hear her scream before she died in my sleep. I guess it's the only thing I remember about her when I was a baby with what little time I did have with her."

Mavis frowned, "He was a piece of shit father, let me tell you. He enslaved me and when I turned four he had me scream for help dragging innocent people around me just for him and his slavers to take and enslave. After a year of doing that he began to make me work like the others. However many years after being his slave... some pirates came and rescued me from his underground slave camp on Alabasta." Mavis smiled at this point probably the only good thing about her past, "The Chain Pirates, I traveled with them until they returned to the blues, they were my first real friends. They also saved me from a life as a slave. Then now I'm here."

Mavis looked at the ground, "I think that's all I will share, but Captain Junbei, I think you're a fantastic person. I love your singing."

Mavis smiled at him, then she smiled at the rest of the crew, hopefully they didn't think badly of her.

The girl stood there examining Jade and Mavis and it made him a little uncomfortable as he stood there and drunk his delicious milkshake. Right after she seemed to give him a complement but things went right back to being uncomfortable as soon as she got close and stared Jade right in his eyes, man was this girl weird too him but he would never say it out loud. Jade watched her slither away back next to Junbei before explaining that she just wanting to scope out the fresh meat, which he could understand in a way, gotta make sure we are good pirates some how.

However as he finished his milkshake, the air around them got thick and serious, something he had only really experienced once, but knew well enough. Jade noticed it was coming from Junbei and as just like clockwork he said he had something serious to tell us about and turned out to be his life story. It was upsetting to Jade too see such a strong man such as Junbei go through such a vile thing, Jade wouldn't have even imagined such a things had happened to him. It even kind of pissed him off too see that the marines who paint themselves as the protectors of the citizens to have did such a thing and pin such a horrible crime on a man who seemed so nice. Man was his hatred for those people crowing more and more. The girl's whose named seemed to be charlotte seemed to be a bit rude with her comment before finishing and saving herself from seeing so rude in Jade's eyes. He knew that she would be a weird one but as Junbei turned to him and asked if he wasn't that bad he responded "from what I've seen and heard, you're awesome!" He said with a beaming smile on his face towards the captain.

Charlotte seemed to share her story, sort of, with the crew and explained how she was no saint. She explained them as song birds that were free and called themselves worthless but Jade thought otherwise. If they could sit here and tell there story to a person they just met, they where very trustworthy and kind people he was glad to be on a crew with.

More stories of life were told through Mavis, such a bright woman seemed to have the saddest story. He couldn't have imagined Mavis going through such a thing at all! Jade couldn't even fathom what kind of man would have children just so they could be his slaves but glad those pirates saved her. Man these stories were going to upset Jade for awhile but as Mavis smiled he managed to cheer up a bit.

"Wow guys, you all have such sad stories" Jade said as he looked at the crew. "If you guys are willing to listen, here is my story however it isn't anything compared to you alls" He finished as he cleared his throat and began. "I was born on the west blue, when I was just a baby I was left in the middle of my town square with just a letter on a note" As he told his story he looked at his crew members. "I was picked up by an ex-pirate old man who took care of me and several other orphans but around the age of 5 the marines somehow found him and took him from us" He kind of chocked a bit remembering the night "but luckily he hid us from them and me and my siblings took care of each other till a week ago when we parted ways to follow our dream and find our father" He finished. Jade knew his story was nothing compared to the others but he knew they would listen and he knew he couldn't just go without sharing his story when they did so bravely with him. He knew he was going to love this crew.

Charlotte began to cry as she heard Mavis's story, walking over to the girl Charlotte slammed the woman into her chest. Patting Mavis on her head, "You're so cute. Good Girl." Charlotte said nuzzling against the woman's head. "Eh. I swear your emotions are all over the place." Junbei concluded sighing. Placing his hand on Jade's shoulder, "If you don't mind, I'd be glad to help ya' find your dad. I plan to traverse all of the Grandline anyway so they're must be some hints somewhere." Junbei said grinning. Pulling Charlotte off of Mavis, "That's enough Charlotte. You're scaring our recruits." Junbei said sternly. Pouting, "Fine. You never let me have any fun." Charlotte said wiggling her legs in mid-air, being lifted off the ground by Junbei. Resting her down, Junbei turned back to Mavis. "Thanks for sharing that with everyone." Junbei said grinning. Looking back towards Jade, "You too Jade. I can't wait to meet your siblings!" Junbei said grinning. Pulling Mavis and Jade aside as Charlotte kicked the dirt against the ground, "I'd like Charlotte to tell her story but as she is right now mentally, I'm not sure if she can handle it." Junbei said whispering.

Leaning over the huddle, Charlotte listened in. "Eh... Really... I didn't know you speak for me now, JunJun." Charlotte said coldly. Stepping back startled, Charlotte stepped back from the broken huddle, "I. I'd like to tell you about my past, one day. For right now, I know it might seem selfish but there's a lot of things that are still pretty fresh for me." Charlotte said shooting a half smile, clutching her arm and trembling.

Everyone was displaying their emotions and at a very quick pace too, Jade told his story of a brave ex-pirate old man who had saved him and multiple orphans. He raised the orphans like his own children, that was heart-touching and it had hit Mavis. She didn't have a father nor a mother she never got that kind of love. She wondered how that would feel.

Charlotte had smashed Mavis into her breasts, Mavis' face lit up a rosy-pink as she was smothered between Charlotte's face and her breasts. How was she suppose to react to this? Mavis just chuckled quietly and awkwardly. Junbei had pulled her off, Mavis dramatically fell to her knees gasping for air. She didn't know breasts could be so powerful and suffocate someone, Mavis looked at her hands worriedly. Mavis began to laugh uncontrollably, like a nut-case.

"Hahaha-HAHAHA! Is anyone else having a hard time breathing..." Mavis panted, "Shit... Charlotte you have some Goddess breast."

Mavis stood up regaining a normal breathing pace, blinking she continued listening to Junbei. He was grateful for everyone sharing such childhoods. Mavis noticed the woman who almost killed her with her breasts hadn't shared, bummer. She was curious how such a woman got this far in life. Oh well, guess they'd learn some day.

Just as expected Junbei had called her out. However Charlotte wasn't interested in sharing quite yet, understandable, Mavis wasn't one to force something personal out. Mavis would have to stick around and just learn about Charlotte then.

After Mavis told her story it seemed that Charlotte felt really sorry for her as she started to cry and even put Mavis between her breast. Man was it awkward for Jade watching it and it kind of seemed like she was suffocating Mavis. As he started to blush Junbei stated that since they where traversing the whole grand line that they could possibly look for and find his dad, which made him smile. "I would really like that!" He said smiling, he felt really lucky to have found a captain that cared enough to share his story and even help someone like Jade find his father. He wondered if anyone else that would join the crew be as great as these people he was currently standing in front of.

After Junbei somehow managed to rip Charlotte from suffocating Mavis with her breath and watching Charlotte throw her little tantrum, Jade kind of laughed. He hasn't had this good of a laugh in awhile. Junbei then thanked everyone for sharing their story and even said that he couldn't wait to meet Jade's siblings with a grin. Was it Jade or was this man after his heart? After a small chuckle and smile "I bet they can't wait to meet you either!". Man did he feel like the luckiest crew mate in the world but it all went down to sadness when he heard that Charlotte couldn't tell her story as it was too fresh for her. Jade wanted to hug her so badly but didn't as it would have made the moment even sadder.

He wanted to cheer everyone up and began to speak "So guys! Want to go get some more milkshakes and talk about what we will do as a crew?" He asked with a smile. They would probably see through his tactic but it was better than letting them sit in silence. Jade hope it worked so that the mood would lighten up once again.

"Okay. Jade's right! I could totally have a meal. A feast! Our first dinner together as the Songbird Pirates! Excellent Jade!" Junbei said grinning. "Just letting you know... I need to talk with you all as a collective once we find a place to eat." Charlotte said, shaking off the thoughts of her past. The crew travelled over to Red Carpet Pub, Junbei had been helping out the old lady Holly there a lot lately, so he'd decided to ask for payback on his favours. Breaking in the door, Junbei led the way as Charlotte and the others followed his lead. "Hey Holly!" Junbei declared, as he sat at the table, in the center of the pub nearest to the piano. "Could you bring us a couple jugs, some appetizers and a barrels of your finest Sake?" Junbei exclaimed, winking at the old woman. "Ohohoho... It's unusual to see you around with these much people. I'm guessing your following up on my offer from the other day." Holly said grinning. "Yup!" the man declared.

As the crew waiting for the food to be prepared, Junbei got up and went to the piano at the centre of the club. "Alright. Jade, I'm going to need you to man the sails. Mavis, I see your carrying a firearm. I'm going to leave the cannon's up to you. Our plan is pretty much simple in getting to Skypeia. We're going to ride Knock Up Stream, ten thousand feet towards the Kingdom in the Sky." Charlotte said confidently. "I've got a good idea of the geyser's habits. A new geyser shoots up every seven days. According to reports, the last sighting was five days ago. Meaning we have two more days until the next geyser." Charlotte said sternly. As the woman talked, Junbei's piano playing chimed in.

"Once we're up there... We might end up split up, in the chance we stay together, I'll pair us into teams of two. I'll stick with Junbei, I'll put you and Jade together. Every other island, we'll alternate our pairings depending on the island's politics etc." Charlotte said flicking through a small notebook she carried with her. Though they didn't know, Junbei was using the abilities of his Oto Oto No Mi to chime into the conversation as he played, he'd probably reveal to them he was a Devil Fruit user sooner or later. "Oh, one more important thing. Junbei can't swim. He's a complete hammer." Charlotte said winking, a fun fact that the Captain couldn't swim was a 'secret' she shared with the crew.

"I can hear you ya know!" Junbei shouted, dancing his fingers against the keys.

Mavis wanted more milkshakes it would appear.


"Jade, if you keep eating this many Milkshakes you'll turn into one, heh." She smiled.

Mavis and the rest of them agree'd it was best to go out for a feast as a crew though. This would be interesting last time Mavis and Junbei went out they were the center of attention. Woman lusting for him and Men lusting for Mavis.

"Hm?" Mavis looked around at the building, it seemed to have some age to it.

Oh well, it would serve well for them. Charlotte began to explain their positions in the crew. Mavis was assigned to Cannons, this was nothing new Junbei already told her she'd handle their cannons. Mavis nodded.

"I figured as much, do not worry anything firearm related I'm your girl to go to." Mavis smiled triumphantly.

Charlotte began to explain the teams if they got split up, Mavis was paired with Jade. She nodded again showing she was listening. Mavis and Jade would do well together, being Jade was a close-ranged kind of guy, Mavis could watch his back for anyone sneaking up on him. Mavis smiled, this would be fun... that was if they survived the knock-up stream. Hopefully they didn't get separated up in Skypiea. 

Mavis had little knowledge of the city in the sky. However she probably knew more than the others, but none of them had the experience of being up in the Sky island. Charlotte had told them he was a hammer in the water. She already knew it meant he couldn't swim in the ocean.

"Alrighty then." Mavis nodded.

This meant Junbei was a sea devil or just couldn't swim at all. Mavis held the glass of wine swirling it, with doing circular motions with her hands. She wasn't one for alcohol, she thought she wanted to try it in Water Seven but she never did so she changed her mind it's not like she needed it.

Jade was happy that his idea was liked and that the crew was going to have their first meal together, it would be great as anything with food is great. He smiled as Mavis said if he kept downing the milkshakes like he was he would end up turning into one, that made him laugh. "You're right, just don't drink me!" he said as Charlotte also noted that she needed to talk to them as soon as they reached the place where they would be eating at.

The crew made it to the place where they would be eating, it seemed to be a bit old but seemed like a place where it would have some great food and drinks. The crew went inside and Junbei seemed to know the old lady who greeted him and took his order. "Man, Cap'n seemed to be very friendly" Jade said to himself as he sat next to Mavis. When they sat down Junbei ran off to the piano the pub had, Charlotte told Mavis and Jade what their roles on the ship would be. Jade calmly nodded but he was kind of worried that he would mess up, it was his first time doing anything with a ship.

He thought Mavis was lucky to have gotten stuck with the cannon but as he thought about it, he knew it would fit her as she did carry a gun around. "Gonna take down all the enemies!" Jade said smiling as he looked at the glass of sake in front of him, he was only sixteen so he had never touched alcohol in his life. While looking at the glass he thought about them sailing and how hard it would be, especially going to a place he had never heard of at all. At least he was paired with Mavis, she would probably make things easier for him.

Jade managed to catch the old lady and order milkshakes for everyone, which would be better for his sixteen year old self. While ordering he heard that the captain couldnt swim and he got curious, why couldn't the captain swim? "Hey Cap'n! why can't you swim?" He asked just as the milkshakes arrived to the table.
