As they arrived Mavis found herself involved in reading a book, this book was known as, "Heroine's Final Stand." The Heroine was stuck in between saving herself or her crew, she had brown hair long and beautiful, with great skin, flawless free of blemishes and dirt, bright amber-brown eyes. Like Mavis she carried a gun, her life depended on saving the crew from a leader of an organization who had her friends at his mercy, which would cost her own life.

Mavis could relate this to another time in her past, when she was with the child-like woman known as Siwsune, she was beautiful strong but yet her powers fell short to a devil fruit user. Known to use the Gold Gold fruit, he was dangerous and took everyone out but Mavis. Luckily Mavis stopped him in time and had killed the man before he could do anything harmful to Siwsune and the others. Mavis had always had fate on her side, but sometimes it wavered, like when the marines had separated Mavis from the Chain Pirates, and she had gotten flicked into the ocean left to drown.

All in all this was a cold world that Mavis lived in. However she was fearless, unlike the character in the book Mavis could act without a second thought for her life, the only thought on her mind would to be she has to save the ones she loves. For Mavis she chose these loved ones would be the Songbird Pirates, all in all this had been the fourth maybe fifth pirate crew she had traveled with and been associated with. Does that make her a bad person? For traveling with the dogs of the seas, the despised ones on the seas seen as dirty monsters, savages.

Mavis knew that they too could be good people, they were just misjudged. Mavis looked around as they arrived at their destination as Charlotte informed Junbei, Mavis would walk off. She found interest in the Twin Capes town known as Laboon, as she arrived she noticed a boy running from some mischief people. The most noticeable thing she noticed about one of the people were the golden teeth. She blinked, was this a dream?

Mavis' past came haunting to her, was her past coming back? Was it being reborn again? She had finished them off, finished off the threat that marked Siwsune and her friends... or had she failed. 

"The hell..." Mavis took a deep breathe, "this can't be possible."

Mavis' head began to ache with pain she could feel the pain starting to sink into her mentally. She began to feel physically drained thinking about her past and how difficult it was to defeat the man she could oh so clearly remember, even to this day. Mavis felt sick to her stomach, she slowly backed away looking for Junbei. Once finding and making her way back to her Captain she'd lean her head on him, seeking comfort.


"Headache..." Mavis whispered, "Sorry... for leaning, Junbei."

Mavis had watched the scenes unfold, leaning onto Junbei for support, he had asked if she seen it go down. As Charlotte walked off, Mavis nodded at the upcoming question from her Captain. Before he could even finish Mavis ran after them, curiosity overcoming her. Curiosity did kill the cat though, hopefully this wouldn't be their fate, the poor curious Songbirds. As Mavis followed them she couldn't help but feel her head aching with pain more and more as they got closer to the destination. Mavis could've sworn this feeling felt all to familiar, a presence that would haunt her for a long time.

As they arrived Mavis trembled in fear, the captain of the people they had followed. She knew him all to well. Her memories came flushing in no longer they could be ignored.

-Flashback-

As the crew sailed ashore, they found Siwsune surrounded by a dozen militia men knocked out. Mavis looked at her dumbfounded. Mavis couldn't believe for a second that Siwsune took out a dozen militia men! Also why would she, Mavis mentally ran around screaming in her head, they'd surely be hunted! Then again, It's Mavis' fault for thinking it'd be a in and out thing. 


"I see, you found no trouble finding trouble, Captain." Makashi stated, only getting a small smile and nod from his captain.

Haniru spotted a man in a hood, he pointed at them, from the kingdom's gate you could see more guards and soldiers coming. Siwsune had chased after the mystery man, leaving the five of them to fight off the oncoming militia men.

"You guys I got this!" Mavis yelled throwing her gun in the air from her thigh and catching it. 

Haniru held two pistols in his hand and glared at Mavis. "No. I got this!"

The two clashed heads and rapidly started firing explosive bullets at the oncoming soldiers, they panicked when the first few got hit and began to run back into the walls. Haniru pushed his forehead again Mavis, she mimicked his actions.

He gritted his teeth. "Dammit! I'm the better sniper!"


"Oh yea? Bet I can blow that whole kingdoms wall down in one shot!" Mavis gritted her teeth as well, growling like a dog.

Haniru had pulled out his rocket and fired his strongest explosive bullet, only to be turned into gold. Haniru choked on his own saliva from shock, he coughed blinking his eyes. The bullet fell and smashed into the ground exploding and pushing the two snipers back into the ground along with a couple of golden bullet debris.  Haniru gripped his shoulder as one of the golden shards had cut him. 

He mumbled. "Shit."

Mavis shook her head, recollecting herself and checking on him. "H-Haniru! Are you okay?" She didn't understand what had just happened. "What was that...?"

"I'm fine... and as of what it was... I don't know." Haniru gritted his teeth in pain.

Mavis saw the man in the hood in the air, smoke around him, did he do it? Or did the others hit him? Mavis gritted her teeth, they screwed over this time, whoever this man was, he wasn't a joke. Can they even defeat him?

-End of Flashback-

That wasn't the worst part of her memories... why were they fading away. Either way she yelled at the previously acquainted man from her past who was the hooded-figure.

"Hey Gold Tooth, he doesn't have to join your pathetic crew." Mavis sternly glared. No fear would consist in her eyes, none.

It was obvious the marksman knew this mystery man.

Mavis looked at the man as he asked where her captain was, he probably meant Siwsune, which she had no clue and not to mention, Siwsune wasn't her captain, not anymore.

"You probably don't even remember the crew's name." Mavis spat at him angrily.

However no matter, Junbei as usual took action against the pathetic man.

-Flashback-

The hooded figure was now clear and visible in the sky, he had created a sphere of gold and sent it crashing at Makashi, knocking him on his back. After the quick attack he vanished out of sight. Siwsune had aided Makashi to walking over to Haniru and Mavis.


"Captain... who was that?" Mavis asked.

"Not sure yet. Buuuut! WE GOT THE GOLD HE SENT AT MAKASHI!! What a great show too~" She cheered.

Everyone lectured the captain in unison. "Oi! Siwsune! Makashi could've been killed!"

Siwsune giggled. "Oh but he wasn't."

Makashi chuckled. "Yea, I wasn't. Captain's right, If I didn't die, might as well laugh it off."

Everyone gathered their stuffs and headed for Foosha village. When they got their Mavis had collected information on this hooded figure, and to learn more about this kingdom, the Goa Kingdom. Siwsune rode Makashi's back as he gave her a piggy back ride, looking more like her father than anything else. Haniru stocked up the ammunition and Zare got more food stocks. Leaving Musomo to get herbs and other needed medical supplies. 

Once everyone did their part they got together, mostly so Mavis could explain what she had gathered.

Mavis began to explain the gathered information. "So that hooded figure, is known as the Golden Knight. The local rumors of Dawn Island, having raining gold was true, but it's because of him." 

Siwsune interrupted. "Ooh! Ooh! Questiiioon! Why is he making it rain gold, OH! Also how is he making it rain gold."

"Well, he makes it rain so the poverty villagers can pay off taxes and such, and continue to live. He's looked at as a hero of the Foosha villagers. How he makes it rain is his fruit, Gold Gold." Mavis answered her curious captain.

"So, why would he attack us..." Makashi asked, his voice as calm as gentle sea breezes.

Mavis cited the mayor. "Well, as the mayor told me. He'd only attack us, to keep us from fighting the Kingdom's soldiers. If you fight them, they send stronger units after people each time the units are beaten. It was more so to protect us, but the village too. Each time an attack is made the kingdom takes from the citizens." 

The crew didn't seem happy about that, Zare and Musomo spoke in unison, asking Mavis. "Then, wait!- Er. The kingdom is abusing it's powers, right?"

Mavis nodded. "Yes. The once great ruler's great great grandson. He has turned this once great kingdom to a dark place, of poverty. If you live inside the kingdom gates though, you have to be able to pay every fine on time, so ordinarily it's the usual if your rich you won't get hurt and if your poor you suffer situation."

 Siwsune smiled. "It's decided. WE TAKE DOWN THIS CRAPPY RULER! SAVE THE KINGDOOOOM!" 

The others cheered, except for Mavis who simply nodded. "Yup suicide time, let us piss off a rich kingdom with strong guards, and by pissing of the kingdom it pisses off a devil fruit user, yup. Save the kingdom."

-End of Flashback-

Gold Tooth use to be a noble kind of figure a kind person, however he only caused trouble for the Pirates. He had the right intentions but the wrong reasons to attack them. However she could see how basically destroying the man had turned him violent, well more violent than usual, like down this dark road he seemed to be heading. Junbei had volunteered himself first for the fight, Mavis smiled and cheered him on, happily. Hopefully they didn't lose any matches, Mavis was not looking forward to being his toy if they lost.


All these memories Mavis was starting to miss her old comrades, however she was with Junbei now so she'd have to brush it off for the time being.

He thanked Mavis for making their captain this way, she couldn't help but feel guilt rush over her but this wasn't her fault it was his own fault.

-Flashback-

As decided, Siwsune had ordered Haniru to fire at the kingdom's walls with explosive bullets. After two bullets the guards ran out, they seemed to have a long way before they could get them, over the years the kingdom was pushed higher up. As predicted by Mavis, the Golden Knight had revealed himself, firing a bunch of golden molded bullets at them.

"Alright guys! Charge." Siwsune stood behind all of them pointing at the Golden Knight.

Makashi had unleashed his powerful energy slash from his sword. The Golden Knight had touched his energy wave turning it to gold, the energy had fell to the ground. That wasn't even physically possible! Mavis pulled her gun out, she had the perfect bullet for this! It was infused seastone, she tossed a few to Haniru, his powers shouldn't be immune to these kind of bullets. Both Haniru and Mavis stood side by side as they fired the seastone bullets at the Knight. 

As predicted, the knight fell from the sky wounded. but he wasn't down. He quickly appeared behind Haniru, turning him to gold. 


"Haniru!!" Mavis screamed, jumping back from The Knight. 

Musomo tried to burn the gold off with his version of the Clima-tact, but it only turned to liquid and then re-solid itself. Zare, had managed to get close to the Golden Knight, but was kicked back into the ground, one of Zare's feet resting on a molded gold bullet from before. The bullet shaped itself into a cuff around his right leg. 

"Better be careful where you step, any gold I've made I can use it to entrap you!" The Golden Knight chuckled, he knew they'd be helpless soon.

Musomo created a wind to clear the ground of the bullets. All the bullets came back however, controlled by the knight, he then made them mold around Musomo, trapping him in gold.

"Dammit... It's useless..." Mavis looked at the Golden Knight, a look of lost hope, she also noticed the guards almost half way here. Was it all over for them?

Mavis, knew they had to act quickly, Siwsune, wasn't anywhere near them. It was just Makashi and her.


"Where did captain Siwsune, go?!" Mavis yelled panicked.

Makashi shrugged, charging at the golden knight, slashing rapidly. When the Golden Knight touched his blade, he winced in pain jumping backwards.


"Your blade it has... seastone material in them, smart swordsman..." The knight came to the realization.

Mavis cheered from the sideline, Makashi had this! Makashi swiped his blade downwards onto the Knight's arm leaving a bleeding gash.

-End of flashback-

Mavis had this challenge in the bag, she had managed to shoot even the smallest of the Gold-Gold-users attacks in the past. She got in her usual stance readying to fire. She winked at Junbei, pulling her trigger with no difficulty or sweat, she had hit the bottle in the middle, perfectly. A Perfect shot.

"Don't doubt me." Mavis grinned.

The pressure was all to familiar to the marksman, she remembered when everyone had fallen to Gold Tooth Roberto's feet, rendering useless to him. However time has changed since then, she's grown more since before. She had too much riding on this to fail. However the benefit this time is nobody was being turned to solid gold this time.

-Flashback-

"Owch! That actually hurt... guess if you can hurt me that badly. I should reveal myself to you. My name is Gold Tooth Roberto, the Gold Gold fruit wielder." Said, Golden Knight, now know as Gold Tooth Roberto.

Gama had made kicked Makashi's right arm, turning it to gold, causing him to drop his sword. Makashi used his left to swipe Gold Tooth's knee, before, Gold Tooth Roberto could turn him into complete gold. However, Roberto had quickly reappeared behind him as a golden silhouette and striked his back with his fist, turning Makashi to complete gold.

"M-Makashi!" Mavis trembled in fear, that was the last line of defense, besides herself and captain, but she was gone!

"Mavis... RUN! Get out-" Zare yelled but interrupted, as Gold Tooth Roberto turned him to complete gold. 

Mavis stood still, afraid. Gold Tooth Roberto cackled as he knew she was just putty in his hands now. As he lunged at Mavis, a guard had thrown a seastone shield in front of her, Roberto, fell to his knees the shield being upgraded to stronger forms of seastone, draining him for half a minute.  Mavis backed away slowly, as the guards ran for him, some running for her.

"I am not giving up... not yet..." Mavis whispered to herself. 

Mavis shot an explosive bullet taking out the guards following her. Once the smoke cleared out she saw all the guards turned to gold. He gave Mavis a death glare. He charged at her, she dodged every bullet he sent to cuff her or drag her to the ground. Mavis was quick on her feet, maybe quicker than Rob, he vanished from her eye sight, but she heard him moving, he was using gold underneath the shore's sand to travel quickly across the beach. 

Jumping up Mavis fired a seastone bullet at Roberto's leg, making him slow down quite bit from his wounded leg. Mavis gasped surprised, she realized, they had a seastone net in the ship! She ran for the ship, followed by Rob. She jumped onto the ship looking for the net, as she looked the ship was being turned to gold. Mavis panicked, looking quicker as the ship slowly turned to gold.


"Bigger objects take him time..." Mavis analyzed. 

Finding the net she jumped off the ship, meeting the gaze of Gold Tooth Roberto.

-End of Flashback-

Yes, the states were not quite as high now as they were back then but she still had a lot riding on this.

"Alright." Mavis took a deep breathe, she spun as she pulled the trigger she had jacked the gun up and down quickly. "Don't doubt me like I said before."

This caused her bullet to go up and down, quickly and fierce like a dragon flying. It went over the man wall, grazing his hair taking a few strands with the bullet, and had perfectly striked the bottle on Junbei's head.

"Now it's my turn to choose, yea?" She asked, but it was more so clarifying.

However she didn't wait to list the priorities of her version.

"We can call this Level Five right?" She smirked, "In this snipers will be required to have their eyes closed by not only closed but they must jump while aiming blindly for the bottle." Her smile only got bigger, "This should be a breeze for a true sniper."

Mavis had done this act many times to entertain Siwsune and her crew, so it was a good thing she got to chose the requirements this time. Mavis as she jumped she twirled and spun gracefully, and while in midair she smiled giving a wave towards Junbei's direction.

"Trust me." Mavis would mouth, trying to eliminate any doubt in the marksman.

As she turned fully towards Junbei she smiled, grabbing the trigger using her other hand to hold the gun in place, aiming the barrel to the desired area that felt right. 

"Fire Mavis..." A soft voice would whisper, the voice of her Mother.

Mavis did just that, as she landed she heard the shatter of the bottle, smiling she knew this would be her win.

"Junbei are you proud of me?" She'd say clapping for herself. Happy she hadn't failed her dear Captain.

Everyone was astonished by what she was capable of, to her it was just a mere entertainment trick. It was nothing, she even seemed to upset their sniper who was surprised by her course of action. Soon they would learn that the Songbirds were not a pirate crew to try and even up too. Siwsune and Ty they would be so proud of the new Mavis, much older and more skilled than what they knew. However they always provided her with ammunition she would need for any situation, not that she held that against Junbei but she was going to damn sure request a few special bullets for the events he had put her through today.

Cute little Caprice which they had won into their crew had declared he was going to make Mavis his bride. However he'd have to fight against Junbei because Mavis couldn't think of anyone who made her blush and feel butterflies in her stomach like Junbei. Reina would rival close since she had helped her fight against the Slavers, which that meant the world to her, she hoped she was doing much better than Mavis was doing at this moment.


"Hmm?" Mavis questionably hummed.

The final challenge was an all out crew-battle. Mavis knew the routine, before he could finish his sentence she grabbed Charlotte and Caprice's hand. Dashing for the exit shoving off anyone who tried to grab them. If anyone tried to stop them Mavis would let go of her comrades' hands and pull her gun off her back and shove the butt of the gun in their face. They had made a quick exit to the port.


"Alright Charlotte. Caprice, I'm trusting you to fend off anyone coming this way." Mavis had told them before rushing back towards the direction they just came from.

Mavis would climb up a tower sniping down pirate grunts, she had shot down about fifteen before she saw Palo the Sick Shot. Soon Palo would learn no one could out run her shot, her aim, her bullet. Mavis grinned firing a bullet at his knee cap. She had done the same way back then with Roberto to slow down his pace. Palo would soon suffer the same fate at his captain. Mavis thought back to the final battle with Roberto, what she had done to save her crew from his clutches. Mavis had to make a hard decision in order to save them from Gold Tooth.

-Flashback-

Finding the net she jumped off the ship, meeting the gaze of Gold Tooth Roberto.

"Your Mavis Lockheart. The pirate who had everything stripped from her by the pathetic marines. You're a joke." Roberto broke into laughter.

Mavis glared. "Bring it the on! Dammit you suck, taking my friends like that!"

Mavis jumped into the air rapidly firing explosive bullets. Hiding in the smoke she hid from his vision. Roberto coughed from all the smoke, as Mavis hid in a tree. He began to whistle looking for her, she made sure to be perfectly quiet. Roberto began to spread gold onto the ground. 

"He must think I'm on the ground..." Mavis thought to herself, sitting in a great oak tree's branch.

Next the trees began to turn to gold, she jumped firing seastone bullets on his arms, to distract him. Jumping higher up the tree she was on, she kept firing at him. Mavis looked at the Golden man, he was so unreal. He should've fell after all that seastone hitting him. Roberto chuckled, he stood their playing tough, to push Mavis over the edge.

"Damn that girl... only a few more and I might fall to my knees weak." Gold Tooth thought.

Mavis ran at him with a seastone infused dagger from on the ship, she had found before hand with the net. Just as Roberto reached for her she jumped, he tapped her foot and she grabbed for the net and threw it over Rob's head. Mavis fell, beginning to turn to gold. 

As she turned to gold she looked at the sky. "Please... work, just this once... I'm sure that if he gets knocked out the gold will vani-"

As her body was trapped by gold, the net had caught Gold Tooth Roberto whole. 

He began to scream from the pain, and knocked out. The gold over everything vanished, even the raining gold. Just as predicted, Mavis was right, his gold couldn't work if he was unconscious... or dead. 

"Is everyone okay?" Makashi asked. 

Everyone nodded rubbing their necks. 

Siwsune returned with a bright smile. "Wow, you guys sure are lazy! Took you long enough to win! Thought I'd have to step in."

Mavis fell over on her head from shock. Standing up she grabbed Siwsune's ear. "You didn't even help!" She smacked Siwsune, out of anger.

Siwsune laughed and ignored the hit. Everyone gathered in a circle to discuss their next plan. Which was to invade the castle and take it over by force, to free the people of the evil reign of the old ruler's grandson.


"One more thing..." Mavis told the others.


She approached Roberto firing a seastone bullet into his right shoulder, leaving him wrapped up in the seastone net.

-End of Flashback-

She smiled, even if things went to shit she always had a pin-point on how to stop something. Again she would fire a bullet at Palo this one would aim for his chest, he could either take it and die or fire back in response destroying both bullets.

Mavis heart raced as her shot had been used on a meer grunt, that would not pass for the marksman. She kept a calm tone as Charlotte had opened the floor Mavis shot down eliminated three men. Then turning in time to meet Caprice, trying to slash the marksman' knee-caps. Mavis quickly as the man known as Palo tried to grab Caprice she fired at his arm, blowing it off. Next she would kick the man off and out the window and aimed down at his chest quickly firing down at him to pierce his heart before he could use any technique to escape. Mavis wasn't going to let her newest comrade Caprice die not so soon. Mavis would grab the boy's hand leading him downstairs with Charlotte, as they ran out the building Mavis would fire at any oncoming enemies taking them down.

Counting the dead ones and the ones that they had started only twelve would remain. Mavis quickly disposed of five more firing at their hearts, killing them. She knew it was for the best, Roberto would've just kill them for letting him down by not taking out the enemies, for failing him. Mavis refused to let the men face that fate. Hopefully Caprice would forgive her for such actions.

"I hope you can forgive me. It's the only way I know Gold Tooth will only put them through much worse for failing." Mavis forewarned the boy of her actions.

Mavis could hear her mother's voice talking to her, "Listen my beloved daughter... if you keep killing at this rate I will take back my permission on letting you. After this please try your best not to kill anyone for a week." 

Mavis nodded accepting the terms of her mother's words. She had allowed Mavis to fight peacefully for awhile now the least Mavis could do was agree to her terms. Mavis continued on her spree on the men, taking down each one who would run up to her or try to fire at her from afar. They all had the same fate falling to the ground lifeless and useless. Surely this would piss of Roberto, she had destroyed him twice, well this time she wasn't the one disposing of him but she did do a number on his crew, if Junbei let the man survive he'd have to rebuild completely again.

Although Mavis had to give the guy credit, he did pretty well assembling such a crew after the major ass-whooping Mavis gave him many years back. Well back then she wasn't as mature nor did she know how to fight, but she had the materials to easily conquer anyone and everyone, but that had all been stripped from her and it was a thing of the past. 

As Mavis finished her job taking out the pirates Mavis would return to the docks boarding the ship with Caprice and Charlotte they would patiently wait for their  beloved Captain and ready the ship to sail back to Jaya.
