Things were not getting any easier around here. With the king being in such a critical condition, the young prince wasn't sure if he'd be able to function correctly. Hell, he wasn't sure if the kingdom would function correctly. Despite his mother being the Queen, she was a Mink and none of the people of llusia wanted her there. Even Lyoko faced problems for being half Mink and it wasn't his fault at all. He could never bring himself to understand racism and he also didn't believe that his father did everything in his power to get rid of it. Could racism even disappear? This always happened when he was alone in his room. He began thinking to himself, and somehow some way he'd make himself upset. Not today though. Lyoko had more important matters to attend. If he wanted to get to the bottom of why his father was in the predicament he was in, it seemed he would have to find out himself. Even his own mother wouldn't tell him...like it was some super secret. He hated being left in the dark, especially when it came to someone or something he cared about. With a sigh he stood up, walked to his dresser and dug inside for clothes to wear. It was definitely time for him to get off his ass and get to work, something he wasn't used to doing thanks to being a prince. Everything was always done for him, from cleaning his room to cleaning his dishes. He even had the option to have people brush his own teeth, though he didn't like the idea of it because he was quite humble. Finally, with all his clothing on he walked towards his door.

For a moment he stopped and listened.  Since his mother and fathers room was only down the hall, he wanted to see if he could hear her. The plan was to enter her room, but he couldn't do that if she was still in there. The deed would be dangerous because if he was caught snooping around, his mother would be more cautious of the things she said around him. It wasn't like he was afraid of the consequences, he just had a gut feeling that there was something way more to what was going on right now. The minkman heard a soft voice. A beautiful voice that could only belong to his mother. Just by hearing her voice he smiled, but the smile soon turned into a frown of disappointment as he remembered that she was hiding something from him. She rarely ever hid anything from him. "Tell all of the guards that I will be leaving tonight, and I want nobody inside this castle as long as I am away." Her voice approached the door, but became distant again as her footsteps vanished down the hall. Finally, she was out of her room.

Silently, Lyoko opened the door and began walking towards his mothers room. Upon approaching the door, he placed his hand on the door knob and slowly twisted it, opening it at once. Hm. Before closing the door behind him, he looked around as if he'd find anything with his bare eyes. Immediately he began digging. First he started at the drawer, where many papers had been but none about his father. It didn't take him long to get frustrated with the setting. If things were more organized in this room, it would make it much easier for him to actually find shit. Shit. Still, he didn't stop looking. He knew that somewhere around here was some information on his fathers condition. His next step was to move towards the the closet. Swiftly he dashed to his next destination before easily swing the doors open. There, a box sat before him. Grabbing the box he raised an eyebrow. Whatever is in this is important, even if it's not about father.   The Mink wasted no time in opening the box and was pleasantly surprised when he realized that it was the exact thing he was looking for. A file on his father. Lyoko picked up the paper and allowed his eyes to scan it before reading the words in bolded lettering; Kidney Disease Unfortunately he wasn't able to continue reading as the door was quickly opened.

Lyoko held the box and paper low, and since the closet was beside the big dresser it was easy for him to place the paper inside the box and place the box back. His mother's eyes widened as she realized that her son was looking inside her closet. "And what exactly are you doing, Lyoko? Just his damn luck! Now his brain was working to come up with some sort of realistic lie without actually feeling bad for lying. "I was looking for my fathers old coat. I wanted to take a walk but my own coat doesn't fit as good as it used to." His expression showed that he was serious but if she could feel his heart then she would be completely sure that he was lying. Still, she seemed to be trying to read his mind. Tell me my child, did you find what you were looking for?" Now it seemed to be a battle between the two. "I only just entered the room. You came in only a few moments after me, so I barely had time to look." Lyoko was holding his ground so he was winning for now. "Very well. I will find the coat." For a moment Lyo stood, staring blankly at his mother as she did the same. At this point she knew what he was looking for. She wasn't dumb.

With a light smile he nodded and slowly walked towards the door, passing his mother on the way and sensing the thick air between them. I know you know. He thought as he exited the room.

8:00 PM

Now for a second he actually stopped and thought to himself. He knew that there were people on the island who didn't like the King of this land. For a while now they seemed to be quiet but he knew that they were still out there somewhere. He sighed, but only in his mind considering he was waiting for his mother. Lyoko realized that he actually liked letting her know that she was cautious of her, it was showing him a side of her that he'd never seen before. Standing outside of the castle, he sat on the steps and could hear his mother behind the door. Before he could stand the door opened quicker than even he could. The first people to exit the royal home were two guards, heavily equipped with guns and thick armor. Steel is what it looked like, but it could have been titanium if his father was willing to spend a more money. To everyone who wasn't royalty, the King seemed to be cheap. Despite what the people thought, he still loved his father and he wasn't going to let other peoples opinions affect that. The next person to exit the castle was his mother. By this time he was standing, glaring directly in her eyes as she did the same. There was a bit of tension between the two though Lyoko could have sworn that he sensed disappointment from his mother.

Followed by the queen was the head guard "Vermillion"  and behind him came about five more guards. The prince watched as the people gathered around the gate to see the queen leave. It was funny... for people who didn't like the queen they sure did care about what she was doing. Looking for anything to pick on her about. Lyoko actually hadn't a care left in him. It angered him that the woman he thought he loved was actually someone he didn't truly know. Did she even love him? Slowly Lyo began to understand why people disliked Minkmen - they're animals. "I'll fix this myself." Just before his mother entered the carriage, she looked back towards her son. Lyo simply looked back and gave her a slight wave. She smiled, then took off leaving the prince behind. This meant that he was in charge if anything was to happen. Once the carriage was out of sight, the young mink darted inside of the castle and up the stairs, making his way to his father as fast as he could. At the end of the hallway on the third floor was a laboratory. A clinic sort of place for royalty and family. Of course they were treated with extre precaution and only the best nurses handled their problems. It was late though, around 8 PM. When his mother left this late it was usually with his father and they always took long to return. Sometimes it took them a day to return.

The nurses weren't here with his father. Probably because it was late and they had lives as well. Quickly Lyoko worked. "Time to get down to business," he whispered. Looking around he immediately found the needles. Their position was remembered as his eyes darted around the rest of the room. In no time he was able to tell where the tools were. The prince only wore a T-shirt, sweatpants and his hands were covered by gloves. With the needle he sat in the chair and began. First he would take samples from his father. The idea was to go to where each kidney was in order to test the blood in that area. When that was done he was well aware of the problem. In his fathers left kidney was a poison eating at his side, but the same substance didn't exist in his right kidney. At this point he was well aware that surgery would need to be provided. Whatever it was that was hurting his father had a plan to completely destroy both kidneys.

In all his years of learning everything there was to learn about health he never encountered the substance that was harming his father. The hard part began. Lyoko had never actually performed surgery on a living human being, but he was sure that he was skilled enough for this entire thing to be a success. He couldn't fail his father or he'd be useless. The process took a whole 3 hours. After the surgery was over, he cleaned the king up and hid the evidence of the event ever taking place. As for the Kidney? He took that with him sealed in a jar. He would probably end up getting rid of it, but he wanted to extract whatever poison was in it. He had to find out what it was. Hopefully the surgery worked. The prince would be back in a bit to check on him. He had faith. The queen wasn't even home yet, so the entire thing was a success.
