What made Caprice perfect for the job of running the port was neither his years of experience in being a con-artist nor his intelligence for being able to pick apart most losers lies, it was the fact that generally he had no faith in anyone period. Even in the beginning his relationship with Junbei was a means to an end, which had worked out pretty well for him. As he uttered ‘Next’ several personages passed through the screening process, nonetheless, his question progress was rigorous. A well known Freedom Fighter by the name of Rick Jackson approached the screening next, stepping off the bridge, all entries are then to advance towards the gate, as previously stated, Caprice stood in front of. The gate had a large metallic door, made of Titanium which clamped shut between entry. Rick stepped gingerly towards the entrance, along with his posse of five, each sitting in the chairs provided as Caprice began his series of questions.
“Right. Welcome to Momo Baton. The Capital Island of the Iron Islands, I’m going to ask you five questions. Depending on your response, it’ll determine if you can make it onto the island, or if you’ll be shot on the spot. Question Number One-” Caprice would state before being interrupted by a nervous Rick.
“W-W-Wait! Wait a minute! Did you say shot!? How is that fair!? Isn’t this place suppose to be a haven for Freedom Fighters and Members of the Revolutionary Army?” Rick shouted.
“Question Number One. How do you feel about Junbei Von Echo?” Caprice said bluntly.
“The Red King!? I think it’s noble that he’d attack a government facility. He’s truly needed for the change me and my people want to bring about. Hence why-” Rick began to ramble on, Caprice interjecting,
“Question Number Two, What is your reason for coming to Tres Iron Lotus?” Caprice inquired.
“For the weapons of course! We came here to purchase our very own Sonic Weapon!? I heard with the right technology, we don’t even need to fight anymore, we can put our enemies to sleep with ease.” Rick shouted quickly, not wanted to be cut off by Caprice anymore.
“Question Number Three, What do you believe your fated to do on these seas?” Caprice inquired.
“Fate…” Rick began to ponder once again.
“Isn’t that redundant, like I said, I want to liberate the people Karuruki.” Rick responded keenly.
“Fourth Question. Are you aware that if you enter this island, for any other intention than stated, you’ll forfeit the ability to hear for the rest of your life?” Caprice stated, this fourth question's wording would usually be altered but generally had the same weight.
“W-What kind of ludicrous question is that!?” Rick shouted nervous.
“Fourth Question. Are you aware, that if you enter this island, for any other intention than stated, you’ll forfeit the ability to hear for the rest of your life?” Caprice said, more crudely this time around. It was at this point that a swarm of emotions began to alter in the stomach's of Rick's men, before they were simply nervous, granted, everyone who went through this process aura reeked of some level of nervousness. However, it was after this question was asked, that one grunt in particular, his emotions began to run wild, he was no longer simply nervous but his aura leaked out not anxiety but fear. Gulping slightly,
“I guess the rumours are true. He’s a callous man. Yes, I am aware.” Rick eventually responded. Jumping up from one of his seats, one of Rick’s grunts couldn’t handle the pressure of the questions being asked and blurted out their true reason for arriving on Iron Lotus.
“It’s not the sonar weapons we are after! Surely Junbei would understand! Pacifista! Those robotic monsters that warded off the last Buster Call on this island-” before the man could complete his statement, Caprice raised his left hand, snapping his fingers, the Freedom Fighters were gunned down on the spot, rifle fire from over twenty Militia members rained down rifle slugs at Tier 4 Strength, all aiming towards the skull. Rick activated his Busoshoku Haki, guarding from the initial gunshots, giving Caprice enough time to extend his blade from beneath his sleeve, the moment his Haki faltered, Caprice lunged into mid-air, beheading six foot ten male’s head onto the floor.
“Clean up!” Caprice shouted. Running from behind the gate, the bodies of the Freedom Fighters were pushed into the water below the bridge. As the grunts mopped up the blood, the General shouted.
“Next!” Caprice shouted, signalling for the next person inline to approach. This entrant seemed to be a woman, six foot nine ish, slightly shorter than Rick, and wore an eyepatch over her left-eye, a wolf skin around her waist. She was a fairly well endowed woman, her figure was quite notable, and much like before, she towered over Caprice but simple things like height never intimidated the brat. Retracting his blade, he prompted the woman to either take a seat or stand, as he had prior with Rick and his men, which in itself was a technique to determine an applicant’s level of nervousness.
“Right. Welcome to Momo Baton. The Capital Island of the Iron Islands, I’m going to ask you five questions. Depending on your response, it’ll determine if you can make it onto the island, or if you’ll be shot on the spot. Question Number One.” Caprice said nonchalantly.
“Question Number One. How do you feel about Junbei Von Echo?” Caprice said bluntly.
