Cyrus let out a heavy breath as he leaned over the railing of The Dreadnaught. The sun had crested up above the horizon, the dawn of a new day. It seemed as though he and Bazel had gone over the plans countless times throughout the night. He was tired, but pushed on by excitement and adrenaline. Today was the day. He was going to finally end this all with Jane and Baz would take care of Wayland. No matter what happened by the end of today, Baltigo would be forever changed. Where do you want this generator boss? Leo's voice broke Cyrus's thoughts as the large minkman came topside toting the EMP Generator like a small bag of luggage rather than the devastating machine it was. The wagon is parked down below on the dock, feel free to load it up there while we wait for Bazel. Thanks Leo. Leo grunted and nodded, Not a problem Captain, looking forward to today.
You two have become the best of buddies these last couple of days, huh? Zoe's voice chimed in as Leo walked down the gangplank to the dock. Turning, he found Zoe only a foot or so away, clearly wanting to speak privately. If you're wondering if I'm mad that you asked him to go along with you on this suicide mission, you're right, I am. If you go and get your ass killed it's one thing, but make sure the kitty cat gets back here. If anyone can take over this little rag tag team of Revolutionaries and thugs you've put together over the years, it's him.
I- Cyrus began but was cut off.
Nope, still talking. Leo, nor anyone else for that matter, saw the shit I saw back on Alabasta. I can't pretend to know what it feels like to have to kill your wife and child, but don't go crazy on us, alright? Do what you have to I suppose but don't get carried away. Suddenly, without warning, Zoe slapped Cyrus across the face. His cheek lit up like a firework, pain spiderwebbing across his raw skin, That's for thinking about doing something stupid. So when you do, because I know you will, remember what I just did. Don't be an idiot. Zoe said as she straightened out Cyrus's coat collar before turning and walking back down below deck.
Um, ow? Cyrus said as she left, rubbing his bright red cheek. He knew she meant well, but it didn't make it sting any less. He let out a sigh as he watched Leo load the generator into the wagon. Their plan was borderline insane, hitching Baz up to the wagon like the horse. He'd fly them into the city in a blaze of glory, Leo and Cyrus holding onto the back of the wagon for dear life. Cyrus began whistling Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer while he leaned on the railing of his ship, waiting for Baz to arrive.
